No...we aren't talking about Grombies (sorry Lo, Taree and Kimmeh...), we are talking about if a zombie movie actually occured in reeeeeal liiiife. Which could happen.

Please discuss here what kind of weapons you would use...where you would hide...and what guild members you would want on your side.

I would love to hear about your possible scenarios of survival.

Some Scenario Assumptions:

1) Assume the zombies are on the slow side. Not the ones that run their asses off like in Dawn of the Dead.

2) Assume that they are somewhat dumb...they crash through windows, they don't open em...

3) Assume you can kill them with a head shot, but that is it.

4) Assume you get infected by blood contact. Scratches and bites count.

5) Assume that you have about 5-10 hours before you die from the infection and too become a zombie.

Alright...this should be fun. Go!

Hmm, concrete building is good, well supplied. Sporting goods store not at a mall. Escape route helps, even if it's just a car near the back door. More than one car just in case. Ooh, bring the vehicle right inside if possible. So a motorcycle would be handy. Too bad with all the ground floor windows, that could be a problem.

Any other building sound good? Oh, a boat, even better. Doesn't sound like these zombies can swim.

after finding any weapon I could, and surviving for two days I'd probably die of starvation because I was too worried about teh zombies.

I like Durgans idea (though I didn think about it before I read his post) I'd probably get to a GI Joe or Sportsmans Warehouse. I'd head straight for handguns... not shotguns or whatever, handguns. Multiple handguns, like six or so... Then I'd get a ton of paintball gear goin and rock out like a Power Ranger version of Rambo.

Well, let's think about this in a logical fashion...

It should be apparent that it's completely and utterly impossible for ANYONE or ANYTHING to raise enough zombies at a single time to take over the world... and any spell able to do that would more than likely have an enormous cooldown time, and possibly multiple adverse effects for the castor... and thus, is not likely to happen unless the castor was somewhat confident that he/she would succeed.

Also, no law states that any zombies raised from the dead are REQUIRED to become bloodthirsty killers. The only way that could happen is if they were directly controlled by the force which revived them, which would require a "shitload" of power, as you young people would say.

If, however, the zombies were raised using actual souls recovered from the afterlife, the zombie would inherit the spiritual presence of the person whose soul was used in the process. Of course, the soul may not be the force which holds our inherent good or evil trait, and thus, since the zombie is virtually mindless, it would do nothing.

So, let's assume the fight is against a deadly army of thousands of zombies who are controlled by a force that is pivotal to the existence of the universe.

Actually, let's assume that this force decided to use vampires instead of zombies... because any force that powerful would have to be smarter than to use friggin' zombies...

Not a force...toxic chemicals!!

Zombies in large numbers are way scarier than a single vampire...besides the fact that toxic chemicals could well make zombies someday!! crying

Toxic chemicals have no way of sustaining life, nor do they have the ability to modify the brain to serve murderous purposes...

...and who said only one vampire? talk2hand

You never know. It is more likely than some entity raising them.

You would have to land eventually...unless of course you happened to be stocked up for about 6 months on said boat. Cause that is how long it is going to take for the zombies to finally rot and die naturally.

Ain't no zombie seafood in my world. wink And yep, I'd stock that baby up Mormon style.

I suppose with the store with guns, you'd have to take the car out to get food occasionally, when the swarms die down. Risky. But no matter where you end up you need to get enough food somehow, to survive the pandemic...

Heh, I think Ve is talking horror-movie zombies, not FRP-style undead. So, think actual parasitic infection, that can reanimate recently dead humans. Sort of a hive-mind instinctual microbe that kills and then controls a body once it spreads enough, and survives off the flesh until it decays. Smart enough to use the brain's autonomic functions like walking and eating but not much else.

That last part must have something to do with why they want to eat brains...

So...I think it would be a good idea to walk at a brisk pace away from zombies, that would be fast enough and you don't risk falling and hurting yourself or falling into a hole full of zombehs.
