first an apology to the mods if this is in the wrong place, as this is not asking for advice i didn't feel it was aproprate for the bigginers hall.
but to bussiness
During the final stand off between cloud and sepheroth (you know the one where your only option is to use omnislash) if you have ever stood around long enough for seph to attack you, you'll know that he dose about 8500 damage to cloud who then counters and kills him. but my question is this has seph ever killed you in this fight? and if so is there a specal movie for this or do you just get the same old game over screen as any other time you die?

To answer the question, Sephiroth has never killed me, but if you want to have at least a challenging fight, Cloud should be lower than lv 60 or so. I was lv 78, so I killed him with one Omnislash... something that I did NOT expect from the Great Sephiroth...

By saying "Sephiroth has never killed me", I would think it implies "I don't know if you get a special Game Over Screen"... although that'd be pretty cool, though.

I don't think you can lose in that battle. Unless he does more damage than you have in HP. I've never tried, though.

good question! It is impossible, I believe, to lose in this battle. Seeing how as you level up, so does Sephiroth, meaning, the higher the level you are, the stronger he is, which is why it's suggested not to level up as much around the northern crater area.
So, hypothetically, if you were to be hit by him at, say, level 40, he'd probably only do about 5000 damage to you, seeing as your health would be a bit higher. Unless I'm mistaking... I, of course, have never died from it.
I doubt there would be an alternate ending, or else someone would have found it by now. It's highly unlikely, but there is that slight chance, seeing as to how square is tricky like that.

You cannot lose in that fight. Sephiroth takes away 31/32 of your hitpoints, and then Cloudo counters and kills 'im. I think. . I would replay that part, but I'm lending one of my friends the game. .

He never kills you, if you don't have enough health you go down to exactly 1 health point..., and counter...either way, final sephiroth's heatlh is 1, so...

Quite true. It's kinda like diablos in FFVIII. but he can kill you, but his spells can't

I almost tried that once...except that I forgot Cloud had his Counterattack materia equiped and.... xp
Well, no. I don't think there would be an alternative ending or such. By then you're literally at the 'point of no return' so dying then wouldn't be an option.

I believe that it's impossible to lose in that fight if I'm not mistaken.

it is indeed imposible to loose that particular battle, cause youll either attack with omnislash, or counter with omnislash, even if you never earned omnislash you will still use it.
