The average book has 250 words per page. The average reader reads at 200-250 words per minute.
My copy of Phantom of the Opera has about 35 lines per page, with an average of 10 words per line. 350 words a page. So at about 250 pages, at a reading speed of about 300-350 wpm, It'd take 4-6 hours to finish.
It's a little complicated, but it's really useful when you're wondering how long it'll take to finish a book you have to read, or when you can squeeze in time to finish one. heart

All these numbers... I think you're trying to confuse me! gonk
An average book for me takes about five hours. However, this will not be the case once I tackle my unread Stephen King novels since they're very thick. I'm going to attempt Bag of Bones again.

I finish most novels within 6 hours if I enjoy them. If I'm short on time, or a little less keen on the book, I'll only read a couple of chapters a day and finish within about a week.

I'm not too sure how long it takes me to read a book. It really depends on how interesting the book is. But I would say my average is 7-8 hours, I'm a slow reader.

Shortest time I've ever read a book was about an hour and a half. When the story takes me, it takes me. Longest time was about 3 months. It started to bore me.... sweatdrop Usually, though, I can get through a book and a half to two books a week, depending on; 1) The author 2) The plot (or subject matter if we're talking non-fiction) 3) The length.

I usually read slowly enough to fully immerse myself in the story. But once, I had a very slow day in school, and I managed to read a whole novel in about two and a half hours.

I always read several books at once, so I have no idea how long it takes me to finish an individual book. I read pretty quickly, though, so I'm probably capable of finishing a book in eight hours - they'll just be eight hours stretched over several weeks. xd
(Of course, it doesn't help that most of the books I read have about 600 pages each.)

I can finish most books in two hours, maybe two and a half. But the old english writers and really thick books would take me five hours or more, especially if I wasn't interested in it that much.
I also skim over boring parts. xp But it always makes re-reading more interesting. And the only times I don't re-read are when I hate the book.

To read my usual books which are about 360-380 pages long, is maybe three hours some odd, if I'm undesrupted.
But, that still doesn't help my spelling.

I depends on whether you like the book or not. If you don't like it then it will probably take you longer than a book you really love.
The shortest amout of time it has ever taken me to read a book was 30 minutes but it was a really short book with only about 200 pages...

Well.... It really depends on what size the text is and how long the book is for me.
Harry Potter and the order of the Pheonix took me about twelve hours... ( Heck, I didnt sleep, eat or use the bathroom in this time I wanted to finish it so much. XD )) The same thing for Harry potter and The Goblet of fire.
Average size text, 450 page books usaly take me an hour and a half, to two hours.
Small size text, and long page, 450 page books take me about two to three and a half hours.
Eh.. I think you can base the rest of my readings off these few examples.

I am a very very fast reader, especially when I really like the book. For example, it only took me a day and a half to read the 5th HArry Potter. And that is because my mom made me put it down!!!

It depends on how interesting the book is and how think it is but I would say about 5 hours to finish a good sized book.
The longest time it took me to read a book was a year but that's only 'cause I lost it.
