I'm hesitant to start a new thread since some guilds don't allow it but I didn't see a rule about it... if there is feel free to beat me with sticks. xd
Anyway, what about the way your doll relates to you? What kind of relationship do you have? How did you bond? And do you feel the least bit weird taking your dolls out places to take pictures and whatnot?

Erm, though my bjd is of the smaller-than barbie variety, I guess I can reply to this. ^^; I keep my doll close to my computer, usually sitting on or around the speakers and printer, so that I can always see her, or on the tv right next to me. I've endured many small embarassments to get new clothes and accessories for her, like telling McDonalds people that I alredy have the Nuggets jersey and want a different one, or pointing out a specific Bratz doll I want in a store full of people to somebody who's going to be gift-shopping later. Since she's not a customizable doll, I can't really take photos of her except for my own enjoyment, but when I do, I feel like I'm taking a picture of a girlfriend and giving her directions on how to pose. ^_^

My origional three boys (Bastion, Tatsurou and Fox) seem to be ports of my own mentality. Bastion is the cute side of me, Tatsurou is the snotty/attention whore side and Fox is the general whore side. (Fox is also the most silent... Wonder why?)
Reila is my girly side, and Judas is... I have no clue what Judas is yet. I think he's an extention of Tatsurou.
And it's totally fine to post new threads. :3
I don't feel odd taking them with me. It actually feels stranger if they're not in my arms while I'm walking around shopping somewhere.

Key and I are still bonding, but so far I've taken him outside to take pictures every day. I realized I don't really feel strange carrying him down to the nature trail (thankfully there's one in my neighborhood, how convenient!) but I also used to go out wearing cat ears and a tail. *L* And I'm not talking sticking a maribou (sp?) boa in your pants and calling it a tail this is a big thing my sister made me 'cause she rocks.
My boyfriend is having an interesting time adjusting to me having Key. *L* He didn't even know his name until today! But he's been very good, hasn't made fun of me or anything. ^^ He just tells me how much Key looks like a girl. *L*

I have a dissociative disorder, borderline on Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), commonly known as Multiple Personalities.
They wanted bodies.
Enough said?
Actually, all the dolls I currently have are that way, but I do plan to get a couple dolls in the future just for myself.

Although I'm yet to hold my doll in my hands I've been inlove with her for over a year. She's kind of like... something that inspires me, my art and my stories. Plus she's my excuse to play*hehe*

I own the smaller 1:6 scale volks dollfies--3 to be exact. I got them about 2 weeks ago and they're my first dollfies.
I recently completed my first customization on an EB-N. I have loved him since his completion, and he hangs around my room where I can see him 3nodding He may not look as good as other dollfies that I've seen but he is my work and that's what makes him perfect. I tried my best in customizing my dollfie with love and that's what matters. I think I am especially attached to him because he is an embodiment of my imagination and evidence of the God-given talents that I have.
If it wouldn't be such a hassle and if it wasn't for the fear of losing or damaging them, I would probably carry my dollfies with me when I go out.

I'm hoping to dress Key up for Halloween and take him to work with me. I suppose I'll probably take him to work regardless... though if I have Donovan by Halloween I want to have a Clockwork Orange costume for him. *L* Somehow I just don't see Key doing that costume, but Donovan would be cool with it.

I don't have my doll yet, but I've been involved with her very much since about two months ago when I decided just which doll I wanted. I regularily go to the website and stare at her and I've decided that I see her as sort of my conscious. She isn't like a girlfriend that I can just talk to and she's not like my daughter either. She's like that person that answers when I ask myself questions and talk to myself(or my dog, or my stuffed animals). She's like how I want to be, what I aspire to, I guess. She's that all knowing part of me that just screams when I'm doing soemthing that I know I shouldn't, but also wounders why I'm doing something charitable when it provides no benefit to me. She's the reactions to my actions.

Like if I sat there and looked at dollfie stuff long enough the dollfies would pop right out of my screen eek As for what dollfies are to me, well, it's like I said: the embodiment of my imagination and evidence of my abilities. I don't think of them as children like other doll collectors do but they are like little people to me or living puppets. The only difference is that they have no needs (well, besides other dollfie friends and cute clothes rolleyes ) I want to give them a small house to stay in with furniture and everything! blaugh

After I'd ordered Key I took a picture of the computer screen with my phone and had his picture as my phone's background. xd Now my background is of him and another El I met at Animazement.
I've come to realize that Key isn't aware he's a doll. It's just y'know... never come up. And of course I know he's not real obviously but I hardly think of him as a doll these days, he just has way too much personality.

That reminded me of the second half of the song. ^^ I've got so many songs with "doll" in the title or lyrics, I could make a themed mix cd. o.o
