I love the idea. The Gaia Tenkaichi Budoukai as an OAV or somethin'? heart

The majority of our characters are so vastly different; that it would really represent an entire universal view (not literally). Obviously this is a trivial message; but it's a nice thought that ran through my head. Even as a short AMV sequance, it would be really neat. 3nodding

I always knew you had Korean children for slaves animators, Gelmax.

Shame on you. sad

I've actually thought about it several times. If the sheer idiotic crap was edited out, and the joke characters removed - it'd actually work great for an anime. domokun

And ignore Gelmax. As usual, his period..period is eternal, and can not know rest, lest he rapes you with his "sarcasm" & "wit".

=P *Points to a not-well-liked series of lackluster anime that has a Tenkaichi Budoukai in it. Also made by Korean child slaves.*

*points to the people who've only seen the American version of a series that is actually very well-loved around the entire world--and then laughs* xd

Former #1 comic-related property on Earth, until X-Men took back its crown for like four years, and then One Piece snatched the crown right back. xd

The GTB anime would be a super-series produced by Studio Madhouse, directed by Matsumoto Norio, and have character designs by Kimura Takehiro. whee

@Typhoon_Omi: Exactly! Keep the focus on the talented fighters (or underdogs); exclude the bouts that weren't entertaining. We have enough people to sink a battleship; we could afford to forget the boring ones.

And thanks for the support. I was slightly worried that people would jump on the Gelmax bandwagon.

@Jans Viper: Most of the roleplay characters in the Gaia Budokai are pretty damn creative. I wouldn't even compare the Dragon Ball characters to our own. Our characters have a depth that quite a few of the Dragon Ball characters lacked. (i.e. Chaozu, Yajirobe?)

@Anonymooo: Damn you're good. >>;

Madhouse is one of the best. heart We can definately agree on that. wink

I'd love to see it directed by either:
Masami Obari (Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture)
Gisaburo Sugii (Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie)

Don't know enough about character designers. I'd go for any style from .hack//roots to X/1999 to Hajime no Ippo.

Don't kid yourselves.

We have characters designed by people who think a million different ways, very much anime in different styles of it to people who see a purely real image when they think of their character.

We'd need, like, one animator per character. They're styles would clash so terribly at times, it'd take a ton of cash.

And 'twould rock to see such horribly clashing styles of character fight.

@Psychofish: A character would be transfered into anime form from that artist's style. Nothing is perfect; but I would assume that the artist would do his best. And we should be able to agree to a style that everyone can accept.

Why do you need one animator per character? There would be numerous fighters; but look at Night Warriors: Dark Stalker's Revenge. Several different styles of monsters AND humans; but it's still well done. You can still mix some characters designs and still make it good.

Real-life images wouldn't be an issue. People, monsters, even energy beings can be drawn into anime form. I'll make another reference to Night Warriors: Dark Stalker's Revenge. Pyron's a being made of solar energy. And his attacks were completely solar based; creating some exciting special effects in the anime.

My point: I don't see how character design would be an issue; if someone knows their character's appearence. You can always find someone or something that has elements of your character; and slowly explain to the artist the character's traits.

Mind you, nothing is perfect in this type of transition. It can be done very well... But I'll state that it couldn't be perfection.

I think a CGI version of the Gaia Tenkaichi Budokai would be the ideal form. Especially if it was graphically detailed like Final Fantasy: Advent Children. But it would be insanely expensive for that kinda OAV set.

Ive got two things to say.
Even though im fairly positive nobody cares.
1:In order to transfer and create as many anime characters with weaknesses and powers all on the same scale.
It would take a extremly long ammount of time to appese every person.
considering youd need the copyright on all there characters if they were original.
If they wearnt original you couldnt use them in the first place.
but if someone where to care about gaia enough and actually be a big enough fan of this tournament to not be in it, but yet spend enough time to create it through animated cinema.
It would be pretty bad a**.
2:I think a anime with JUST joke character would be pretty great too.But only if i could enter Steve Irwin and win.Cause lord knows he disserves it and can man handle any living thing on the planet.
xd
-once again copyright issues.-
