Didn't discovery channel try figuring our martial arts a year or two ago and the show sucked and was full of crap?

This one has more technology though, so hopefully this will be good.

It's almost the same but this is more into it I think. It will probably be about the same. i am tired of the same crap though I wish they would talk to some masters and get them and there top students in there.

they are going to have a JKD student that is about as close to Wing Chun I feel they will get witch I think sucks. Kung Fu is one style listed on there site what style I have no clue I think the guy is in Wu Shu so it could be a lot of things.

Wu Shu is not a style Wu Shu means martial arts in Chinese. Wu Shu is a colection of styles mostly northern Chinese due to the kicking and acrabatics.

Wushu (Chinese: 武术/武術; pinyin: wǔshù; literally "martial arts"), also known as modern wushu or contemporary wushu, is both an exhibition and a full-contact sport based on a reinterpretation of traditional Chinese martial arts. Created in the People's Republic of China after 1949, wushu has spread globally through the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), which holds the World Wushu Championships every two years; the first World Championships were held in 1991 in Beijing.

Wushu is composed of two disciplines: taolu (套路; forms) and sanda (散打; sparring) [1]. Taolu forms are similar to gymnastics and involve martial art patterns and maneuvers for which competitors are judged and given points according to specific rules. The forms comprise basic movements (stances, kicks, punches, balances, jumps and sweeps) based on aggregate categories traditional Chinese martial art style and can be changed for competitions to highlight one's strengths. Competitive forms have time limits that can range from from 1 minute, 20 seconds for the some external styles to over five minutes for internal styles.

As for western arts that kind of crap alway happens they never gets any credit. We should Email John Clements or some one like that from ARMA and tell them to get out there and show what they know to the asses who run this stuff.

I have very high hopes for this show. Does anyone know if we'll be able to buy the whole series at some point?

Any way you could send me those over the net?
I also didn't realize that it's one two hour long deal, so i'll just record it for now too.

********' wonderful. They did leave some loose ends, and didn't go into everything I hoped they would (they kept showing a manriki chain, but never went into experiments with it!) but overall, that was a great program.
I'd say there's definitely enough more to cover to form an entire series, and I'd hate to think that awesome super-science dojo went to waste when the show was finished. I hope to see more of it in the future.

Ya they showed chain whip and a few other things but never did during the show. I was not impressed with the Wu Shu guy's punch I train in Wing Chun and have been knocked back by some guys in my class with a single punch I weigh 230lbs and I was standing in a good horse stance that guy didn't even try. He should have been able to hit just as hard as the others that Boxer was just what I expected they train on bags more than most of the other guys I bet not to mention the guy is big.

One other problem with that Wu Shu guy he hit that ballistic gel with the sword about as hard as my 7 year old nephew. That sword if made right should be able to cut a mans arm off.
