He was invisable. At least to the naked eye. Unless you looked close enough beneath the dark branches the strange gren coat of the tree junping cheetah blended well with the background of the jungle.

Pale eyes peered through the canopy. he was out hunting, moving slowly, silently through the trees. He had long ago been dubbed the green squirrel by many for his agile leaps of faith, seemingly in to the abyss only to land safely after a seemingly kamakazi jump.

The beast he was stalking was a warthog, it's dingy muddy coloured back clear in his sights. He was almost above it, the silent hunter, high in the tree tops. then, with a quick flurry, he was gopne, his body lunging fromt he tree tops he landed heavily upon the beast he had stalked from on high. It's back and neck broke with his fall and without a squeel it faded away. Jani nodded, it was a good hunt, plenty for him to eat.

Looking around mint green eyes checked for any other predators before he settled to eat his meal. He could eat quite a bit before returning to his den. It would make the meat that much easier to carry if he ate first.

She was lost. Very lost. Very, VERY lost. Jani was going to kill her if she didn't find her home again. It wasn't that the black lioness disliked this new place; on the contrary, she like how she was able to walk around in the daytime without feeling too hot in her fur. But she didn't like the idea of being completely LOST.

She spied a strange creature some way ahead of her, eating what appeared to be a warthog carcass. Uh oh. Jani had said something about other predators not liking it when you were near their kills, hadn't she? But what was Tufani supposed to do? Ignore a potential friend and source of direction?

"Excuse me, Mister..." she called timidly. "Do you know how to get back to the Pridelands?"

Jani'Esquillo leapt to attention. His pale eyes glimmered in the darkness that the canopy above provided. As the lights moved and dappled over his odd green stripped fur he vanished, or almost vanished, his coat melded so well with his surroundings. "Pride lands?" the green squirrel raised a brow, 2whats a pride lands?" He questioned licking his lips his pink tongue peering out over his lips. Glancing upwards the cheetah contemplated running back in to the trees, though he slowly realised this was neither a leopard, nor a full grown lion,s he was young. Smiling lightly the rather strange looking cheetah stood tall and stepped in to a beam of light. His walking pattern was strange. Jani'esquillo had spent his whole life up in the trees, his foreclaws had shaped them selves in to strange climbing boots. He could dive through the tree tops as swift as could be, out running most everything in the trees and on the ground. Because of his life up in the green though, his body, though still slender and cheetahry, was well built, he was mucled the way very few cheetahs were.

"You have a civil tongue in your head lion, but i'm afraid I do not know wheer these pridelands are, i have lived here my whole life. The names Jani'Esquillo, though you may call me what you will if it pleases you" He bowed his head slightly, his mint green gaze fixed upon the little dark female, she may still attack him even if she was being civil with ehr tongue. Not too many fo the larger cats respected him for what he was. but then perhaps this femme had never heard of him having come from these strange lands he had never heard of.

"The Pridelands is a piece of land with lots of brown savannah grass, a few watering holes, and a biiiiiiiiiig rock where all the pride lions like me live," Tufani explained. "It's too bad you don't know where they are...I guess I'll have to find my way back myself after I've finished talking to you. My name is Tufani. The first part of my mom's name is Jani too! Her name is Jani'mwiba, though. I guess I'll call you Mr. Esquillo."

The black lioness grinned, her dark red eyes taking in a quick view of the land before returning to Mr. Esquillo. Though she knew she'd have a difficult time escaping should he choose to attack, Tufani was always a bit too trusting of strangers. After all, she'd talked to plenty of strangers before without incident, right?

Jani'Esquillo settled slightly. Perhaps this female had had a hit on the head? Raising a curious brow the dark green male settled in to a sitting possition and watched the young lioness, mint green eyes filled with an aviid curiosity. "these lands sound very strange, are there no trees to climb in?" He looked curious, the green cheetah had been to the edge of the jungle of course and looked out upon the bare plains but he couldn't imagine anyone living upon them. There was no wheer to jump or fly, or hide, just bare ground. "I'v lived here my whole life tree jumping, I have never seen outside of this place."

He paused and chuckled when she called him mr. "I'v never been called mister before, please if you must just call me jani, or esquillo, if you have to shorten my name" He grinned sheepishly flashing his pearlywhite teeth in arather silly manner. He wasn't very used to conversing with lions, he had only seen a few of them in his years in the trees.

"Okay, Esquillo," Tufani said. It had always been her habit to call adult males she didn't know 'mister', but if he didn't want to have that title, she'd do her best to avoid seeing it. "There are some trees there, around watering holes. Errr...big pools of water in the middle of the grasslands," she explained, pausing only when she realized that Esquillo probably didn't know what a watering hole was. "There are rocks to climb, though, and a thorn patch to explore!"

"I've never seen so many trees in my life," the black lioness said, looking about with an expression of awe. "I couldn't climb a tree like you, though; I don't think my claws would work well enough for it."

"Watering holes?" The large green cheetah looked perplexed for a moment though he soon smiled and nodded "you have waterfalls then?" The 'watering holes' of the jungle were all fed from rivers and falls. This pride lands probably wasn't that differnt from the jungle after all, though obviously it was more open. He had no clue what he would do without the trees.

Flickering his tail the green cheetah chuckled "I'm sure you could, you're not that unlike a leopard" he stated simply flexing his claws.

"What's a waterfall? And what's a leopard?" Tufani asked, perfectly seriously. She had so much to learn about this jungle, it seemed; it was even more interesting than the thorn patch. "I've seen water fall from the sky. Is that a waterfall?" She had seen rivers, of course, but there wasn't a waterfall in the pridelands, so she was most confused.

"Perhaps you could teach me to climb," she said. "That might be fun!"

Jani chuckles lightly. What was a leopard? "Well this place is crawling with leopards. they are kinda like you but usually spotty." Smiling lightly the big green male leapt suddenly racing up a tall tree before stopping and perching on a branch and looking down "Sure, if youhave time I can teach you to climb and show you what a waterfall is" He grins broadly his icey green orbs glistening in the dim light under the canopy. It confused him how she had never seen a waterfall, how did they get a waterhole then? shrugginga bit the big male let it slide. There was plenty of time for questions.

"Since I don't know my way back, I have plenty of time," Tufani said, making a mental note about leopards so she'd recognize one if she ever saw it. Then she looked at the tree that Esquillo had climbed so quickly and effortlessly, slightly intimidated by the size of the trunk and branches. This was going to be a long lesson, she could just tell...she hoped that her Jani in the Pridelands wasn't worried about her.

The green tree jumper smiled. He knew his talents well and knew it was quite difficult to mimic him. "How bout you follow on the ground for now til I find you an easy tree to climb hmm?" He smiled lightly his mint green eyes watching the little female lion curiously, he had never met a lion before but if they were all like this one they were certainly nicer than leopards.

Leaping effortlessly to another tree he glanced back "Follow me, i'll show you the waterfall" he grinned flashing his pearly white teeth.

"Okay," Tufani said as she started walking in the direction where Esquillo was leaping. Her red eyes carefully watched the movement; the last thing she needed right now was to lose sight of where he was. Not only would she be more lost, she'd never get to see the waterfall! And the waterfall sounded most interesting.

Tufani privately wondered if there were other tree-climbing cats like Esquillo in this area. He was certainly the first of his kind that she had seen.

The green cheetah paused occasionally to let Tufani catch up but it wasn't long before they could hear the falling water of the falls. He big male dropped to the ground just before her, silent upon his dark claws. He was well practiced at dropping from hights, his strangelydeformed toes cushioning his fall.

Smiling to the dark lioness, he pushed through a deep green bush. His walk was strange unlike a normal cheetahs. Due to his time tree leaping his toes had formed in to climbing boots rather than the traditional runnuing shoes of a cheetah. This made him graceful in the trees, but useless on the ground.

"Here it is" He whispers pushing in to the small clearing where a great clear fall gushed in to a large pool before trailing off down a wide river to who knows where. "This is the biggest in the jungle theres several smaller ones but i think this is the most magnificent" He smiled his icey green orbs turning on the young female. It confused him how water came to a place without a falls, unless trhe great river ran all that way? Perhaps it did, as far as he was concerned water came from waterfalls, that was how it worked. "Beautiful isn't it?" he puurred looking back at the dark female to gauge her reaction.

Tufani's eyes widened in surprise, and a grin like that of a child'a grin whilst entering a candy shop formed on the black lioness's maw. The water was actually falling from up in the rocks somewhere. She had never seen anything like this before, but she wished that the Pridelands had something like it.

"It's beautiful..." she said to Esquillo once she caught her breath.

Strangely, in the midst of all this new and amazing beauty, Tufani felt a longing to return to her home. She didn't know why, though, and she dismissed it as a silly thought for the moment.

The big green cheetah grinned and nodded "Yes, I don't see many lions around here though, there are many places of beauty." He smiled lightly, he kenw the jungle wasn't for everyone.

Smiling softly the dark green male flickered his tail "I can take you to the edge of the jungle if you wish it, perhaps you can find your pridelands from there?" He tilted his head in a curious manner. This lion, though nice, clearly didn't belong here she seemed distant even in the face of this most beautiful of sights.
