Well it's a LONG interview with Mark.

And Mark basically tells us this:

During the Europe tour, an American tour was in the works, actuaally booked and stuff, it just had to be announced. Suddenly in the dressing room, Tom and the manager confronted Mark and Travis and said "Tom is burned out, and he needs time off."

So Mark says "He's getting 2 months. How many other jobs do you know of where you get two months to just d**k around @ home?"

The manager replied "He needs more than that."

So Mark and Travis said that they were still gonna write and record music and stuff.

Then during this break, Tom said he would only record a new album @ his house, and wouldn't drive up to LA for Mark and Travis and stuff.

Then they got in this huge fight over where the band was going. The next day, the manager called Mark and said that Tom DeLonge was officially out of blink-182 and that he had changed all of his phone numbers.

Worse still: The demos of new material blink was working on were later used by Tom DeLonge as the basis for his "solo project" called Tom DeLonge.

It was later changed to Angels and Airwaves' We Don't Need to Whisper.

actually mark was only on one song in boxcar racer (elevator, travis plays drums in the entire project, which is now non existant).
travis had transplants at the time with the guy from rancid, which is now also apparently non existant.

plus 44 is tom and marks new project.

angels and airwaves have ryan sin, who was fomr the distilers,

the article was interesting as tom "said" in interviews i read that mark was the reason behind blink breaking up, and it was largelly due to boxcar racer causing a riff cos mark thought he was loosing blink.
and travis had no idea what was going on, they are fomr travis;s own words when he rung a radio station when the manager said blink was on haitus

and to quote the ava website "in early 2005, with blink-182 on a break, DeLonge came to a crossroads. "i didnt have a career, i didnt have a band, i didnt have music happening in my life and i was town appart. i knew i had to make one of two choices. the first choice was to lie around and be sad, thinking back to the times when i was in a big band on top of the world. the second was to continue to make new music and take it to a completelly different level. while i did want to satisfy my blink fans i also wanted to bring in a whole new generation of listeners. it had nothing to do with fame or money, i knew if i could create a year where i turned my life around, and envisioned myself doing wonderfull things that would challange other people to do the same".

acording to ava the album was written in toms home studio, not while blink was on tour, they shut the blinds, put picture sof cities burning and people being destroyed by war and they just wrote, which is believable following the theme of the album.

and ultimatelly to the original poster, when people get interview their words get twisted to make it into an interesting read,it's called the tabloids.

omg i just got to read it on the site just now crying
i see mark still has his sence of humor too

"19. If you could say one thing to Tom right now, what would it be?

What’s up with that haircut? "

but darn, i look at everything a bit different now, it sounds like tom wuz bein a bit selfish...

i really hope somehow, someway, they resolve this and fix their friendship...that at least
and eventually, hopefully bein to play together again...

Except for the fact that this was not a tabloid interview. It was an interview with b182.com, a blink fansite.

Now, if you had the chance, as a fan, to interview Mark Hoppus, would you skew his words? The MTV article was edited to make it seem like they hated Tom. This was straight transcribed via an MSN conversation I think.

And I never said AVA was written on blink's tour.

Blink DEMOS, most of which were created down in the Untitled album recording (there ussed to be a video on the website that had a song that sounded EXACTLY like "The Machine.") and while on the Untitled tour. These demos were later recycled and refined into WDNTW, according to Mark. And I understand that there are two sides to a story, but if you read ANY article that's an interview with this "new" Tom, he only half answers ever single question, except when it's reffering to his music which he then boasts grandoiusly about.

I mean, I've read those articles that Mark quotes that have him saying "God wrote half this album."

And if you're going to blame that on the media, don't bother. I've seen AVA on tour twice, and both times he said that. And I can't even say how many times he said that "This is the best music I've ever ******** made in my life. "

Gah! yeah i ment mark...ergh proof reading at like midnight failed me XD.

eh true if you were a fan you wouldnt twist the words.
eh i wouldt say the media mkde up what tom said, it's said on the ava website, the way i was reading it i thought mark was saying ava's album was actually written by the blink boys.

but if tom did leave the band because he "wanted a break" and then went on to make ava it was pretty frigging slack of him to do it,
ultimatelly if he did then hes slack for it but maybe he was tired of blink? i eman being in the same band for ten years you would get tired wouldnt you? not making excuses but just pondering.

sorry if i ofended you, i read the article so that it seemed as though mark was saying that tom bassically stole the blink stuff for ava.

i guess well never really know the truth, it seems like the guys have fallen out and it's now a case of he said she said (except it's "he said he said" instead)

tragic really cos blink were frigging awesome, i grew up on blink

the whats up with the hair cut question was funny as hell, ^_^.

also i wouldn't say that ava is the best music toms ever made 0_0, ava have got a little way to go before that, although the album was awesome, took me on a great journey, really told the story of the album.

it doesn't matter if Tom did quit the band. It's his decision and while (if the story is true) he did rather inconvienence everyone involved sometimes things like that just happen. If Tom was burned out then he was burned out, and it's not his fault that he was exhausted.

and for future reference, you should probably NOT start a topic in a Blink 182 fan forum with "tom delonge is a b*****d"

just prolly not a good idea... wink

boxcar racer was only a side project, and broke up years before blink 182 did... travis and mark's band is called (+44) and travis is also in the transplants... and no, tom isn't a b*****d... he was corrupted by society, as would happen to all celebs in his position. to the public eye, tom was the most important member of the band, so it got into his head and he quit... he did act very immurely though, by changing his phone number and having his manager quit for him... so yeah... tom's not a b*****d...he's just corrupted... he's only human... and he's an example of how the world will end via corruption
