Manny Ramirez´s 27-game hitting streak ended yesterday but the Red Sox still triumphed 11-9 over the O´s. Mike Lowell hit a grand slam, Kevin Youkilis hit a three-run shot and Doug Mirabelli hit a solo homer. John Lester allowed 4 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings for the win, improving his record to 6-2. Papelbon got his 31st save. mrgreen

Tigers and Red Sox play again today as Justin Verlander, 14-5 with a 2.95 ERA, takes on Boomer, 1-2 with a 6.23 ERA. some one, Sox! whee

it did sound like a good game because it also boosted their momentum. now they will play 5 crucial games against the Yanks.
