that´s what a loyal Tigers fan should say. 3nodding Verlander might win both Rookie of the Year and Cy Young.

Rookie of the year will be Fransico Liriano and Cy Young is Johan Santana

but liriano got injured so it might change but he he's healthy he's the best pitcher in the league, even espn says that if they were starting a team there first pick would be Fransisco Liriano

i was about to say he is injured. however, when he plays, he is both Cy Young and Rookie of the Year-caliber.

i know i cant wait wait till he's back healthy because he is the whole package and will become the best pitcher in the league.

exactly. biggrin 3nodding he´s a younger version of Johan Santana, and i bet in a couple of years he´ll already have a Cy Young on his shelf.

here are some of those "Cy Young pitcher candidates" updates:

Johan Santana shuts out Cleveland over 8 innings while giving up just 3 hits, a walk and stricking out 9!
he is now 14-5 with a 3.10 ERA and MLB-leading 187 K´s

Roy Halladay improves to 15-3 after 7 solid innings against the D-Rays.
he is now 15-3 with a 3.20 ERA and 102 K´s

Chris Carpenter crafts yet another gem, pitching a complete-game, 4-hit shutout against the Reds and improving his record to 11-6.
he is now 11-6 with a 3.09 ERA and 131 K´s

Jeremy Bonderman didn´t win, but he still held the Bo Sox to 2 runs, 5 hits and a walk over 7 2/3 innings, striking out 8.
he is now 11-5 with a 3.69 ERA and 159 K´s

Curt Schilling didn´t get a decision but still limited the Tigers to 2 runs on 9 hits over 7 innings, striking out 4.
he is now 14-5 with a 3.83 ERA and 153 K´s

yeah, me too. Schilling might creep in there if he lowers his ERA... i have no idea who will get it in the NL.

ya hte NL is hard
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 3:13 pm

it´s not really that it´s hard, it´s just that none of the pitchers there really stand out. before the All-Star break it was looking like Webb would get it, but not really anymore.
