ARGH this is some BULLSHIT.
So I made it to the finals of a DDR tourney. Right? Right. But I didn't win. Let me explain.
This little "sk8r" kid and his "sk8r" friend are in the game room. They're in the tourney. Same age as me. I face one of them in the first round. We have to play on Cobault Fluxes, but one is ******** to hell. We go through three songs. I lose because I got 11 ******** Almosts on Absolute Cuff-n-Stuff It Mix. I ask the judge if I can enter again. He says talk to the person running the game room. It's some obnoxious fat black chick. Now, I don't mean to sound racist, but jesus christ I knew this woman was a b***h from the moment I saw her. I told her I lost because the pad was faulty. The judge and the chick talk and say if someone drops, I can have their spot. My friend drops for me. So later I play the kid in the semi-finals. Kid says he won't complain if he "gets something in return." I tell him I'll give him five dollars if I win. I got to use the good pad twice. Lost to him on the first song and his choice, Sexy Planet Oni because I lost my footing for part of it and kept missing the up arrow (plus I got a few pad misses). Won the second song which was my choice, Sweet Sweet Love Magic. Somewhere around 4 pad misses, 14 Greats. He had Greats in the 60s. So we go to Random. Sweet Sweet Love Magic again. I'm on the terrible pad. I got the same amount of Greats, plus 8 bullshit misses. I win. I talk to the kid I'm supposed to face. He's nice.
Meanwhile, sk8r boi cries to mommy. Mommy dearest is a total b***h. She bitches to the fat black chick. Tells sk8r'z friend to play to prove that the pad is broken, since sk8r claims it's fine. He chooses Sexy Planet Oni. Chick tells him to play the whole songs, and if he gets any misses (noncombo steps) I get to stay in. 10 seconds in he has a Good and an Almost. Chick's watching the kid's feet, not the screen. 10 more steps later...
"PAD LOOKS FINE TO ME. YOU'RE OUT, HONEY."
BULLSHIT. ******** BULLSHIT OH MY GOD. HE ENDED WITH LIKE 10 MISSES. s**t PISSES ME OFF.
But sk8r decides to b***h and whine to the judge, demanding that he get the trophy insted of facing the kid who was also still in. He's kicked out, too.
STILL. IT'S NOT ******** FAIR.
Discussion: How much you hate people. Tournaments you were supposed to win but did not.
Sorry for making such a livejournal-like post, but jesus christ this pisses me off. I could've killed the kid that I was supposed to face. In the qualifier, he got 67 Greats to my 7.

That's some serious bullshit. People who know nothing about DDR shouldn't attempt to run tourneys. And people who suck balls up a wall shouldn't attempt to enter them. mad
I'll b***h about a tourney after Portland decides to stop sucking and actually have one.

thank gawd that didnt happen during the tourney me and friends did... though we had something like that BEFORE the tourney.
we were actually gonna hold just a meeting but because talking about tourney's, we decided to give it a try.
basicly since everyone just wants to beat others and have braggin'-rights about we tried to devellop a system with a loser bracket, so that even if one loses , the still had a chance to get into the finals. but then an outsider tried to push his system into one the guys helping organizing, and he kinda succeeded. so in the end we were working with 2 different bracket systems. eventually, we found huge errors in r0dent's bracket system, errors you can just change easily. next to that, his system made more unnessecary gameplay then needed, which in our system wasnt.
but luckily, everyone enjoyed it all.. we learned some valuable lessons from this tourney, which we always stated as "a trial version", with which we can improve upcoming tourney's.

Off-topic sort of, but on the brighter side of things I won a Smash Brothers tournament today which got me a free four-day pass to next year's gaming con. Saves me $75.
And people say Mewtwo is a bad character. surprised

Its terrible that they wouldnt test the pads before to make sure they work equally, especially when doing a tournament. However, as long as you know you could kick his a** at DDR, why let it get to you?

How the ******** could she possibly judge the pad as "fine" when she's watching the thing and not the screen? :/
I think that it's a load of bullshit that combo breakers count against you in most DDR tourneys. They should focus solely on Perfects and Greats.

They should focus solely on Perfects and Greats. Well, some people get combo breakers legitimately. xp Although they really do need functional pads for tourneys, unquestionably.

He had around 60 Greats while I had like, 12.
