A small, two-story building built in the "Union Institutional" style, situated right next door to the city offices. The first floor features rows of half-filled shelves of "approved" books. There are also a few tables with chairs, and a "reading area" containing a pair of sectional sofas. The second floor doubles as the Union City archives, and is not open to the public. Damaged books are stored and repaired in the basement, which holds all the tools and supplies necessary to rebind books. Also in the basement are the cleaning supplies, kept in a small room next to the stairs. The Librarian, Laurel Talbot, has her desk just inside the front door.
The Library is plagued with electrical problems - mostly affecting the lights and surveillance systems - particularly in the basement.

They were really evil, so god sent the mimics to crush them. The mimics did their job well, and then we crushed them, for we are even better."))

Laurel set down the book with a sigh. She set out the "Ring Bell for Service" sign and headed for the basement door. She really didn't like the basement, especially the way the lights kept flickering, but that was where the damaged books were kept, along with the new books that needed cataloguing. That was what she needed to do now. As she headed down the stairs, the lights - as always - flickered, even going out for almost half a second. Then, just as she opened the first carton of new books, the room went completely dark.

"©®@p" Laurel cursed the darkness. Then she conjured up a beam of light from her hand, like that of a small flashlight, and headed toward the janitor's closet. She examined the breaker panel. There was the breaker for the basement, the only one not thrown to the right. Odd, it wasn't to the left either - it was in the middle. What would Aunt Kitty do? she asked herself, then shrugged and threw the breaker to the left.
The door to the closet swung shut, and a line of dim light appeared on the back wall. The line widened until she could see that a hidden door had opened. Larrisa threw the breaker to the right, and watched as the door closed again with a soft click, at which point, the light in the closet came back on. She opened the door into the basement, once more bathed in soft light, and returned to sorting and cataloging the new books. But in the back of her mind, she was planning her exploration of what lay beyond the hidden door.

Charlotte studied the librarian as she entered. She spent a few minutes just looking around before heading over to the desk. She wondered if she should ring the bell or go on in. She was suposed to be the Assistant Librarian, because the Librarian position was already taken. She guessed, if the place was open the Librarian was around.
"Fine, I'll ring the stupid bell." She muttered to herself as she clapped her hand down against the bell, making a loud chime. She wondered if it would be heard where ever the Librarian was. She hoped so, she didn't want to be waiting here long.

Erik entered the Library and saw Charlotte. He sighed, then went to the desk as well, pretending to read a poster so he didnt have to look at Charlotte.

While waiting Charlotte turned around, and viewed the area slowly. It looked, pretty pathetic. But then, she'd never really bothered to read much of anything when she was younger. This was going to be a very boring job.
She saw something move and glanced towards the figure. He was familiar, but she couldn't place where she knew him from, or who he was. She presented a warm smile, which disgusted made her sick just doing it. And returned to glancing around the room.

"Eternity," She mutttered glancing towards the stranger before ringing the bell for a second time. He was technically behind her, but she was pretending to be a nice person. Which meant she'd gladly allow him to go first because he was only here to get a book, where as she'd be here for a lot longer period of time.
She didn't like the whole nice approach, though it wasn't hard to do. It was basically the exact opposite of what she would do. It was just hard holding her tongue when she wanted to be sarcastically rude to someone.

"I believe it." He muttered. "Itd probably be faster to find the book myself..." Faster, probably...but only if they had it, which they probably wouldnt. The stupid Censorship laws would probably make sure this wasnt there. It was also extremely risky to even ask for it, but it would be worth it.

"Sorry. I would help you, but I'm new here," She stated casually, "And getting tired of ringing this bell." She grumbled.

Erik thought of melting the bell, but then thought better of it. Charlotte probably wouldnt do anything since she was a super as well, but it still wouldnt be the smartest thing to do. "I am too, and I'm here for one reason. People might get hurt...sorry, people WILL get hurt by the time I'm done...but it'll be worth it."

She didn't really care about the people getting hurt part, as long as she wasn't the one getting hurt. But the Charlotte Smithers she was pretending to be would care. "Sorry," She said giving him a confused look, "Did I just hear you correctly? Did you just say you were going to hurt people or get them hurt by one act or another?"
