i get these from my dad everyday, and i feel that i should share them with yall, if I Believe (i am djgresh again now by the way) wants to move this to the study section then thats fine, but here's the ones that i got today,
Pride and self-pity can rob us of our victory in the Lord. Pride destroys because it takes the glory away from God and places it on you and me where it doesn't belong. Self-pity and depression are almost inevitalbe after a great high. Maybe it's because we get our priorities skewed, forgetting how we got to that high and seeing only the slide downward toward normality. Keep your priorities straight. Keep you attitude in tune with God's purposes in your life. Give God credit when He does something great in your life, being mindful that you can accomplish nothing without Him. And then, after the high of victory, realize that a return to normal means coming down, beign lower than you were, but by no means down and out. And, unlike Samson, don't think God owes you for your efforts. You owe Him. Because without Him you can accomplish nothing. Even your next breath! depends on His willingness to give it to you. Thank Him and glorify Him in all things in your life. Make Him your focus, rather than yourself.
Bonnie Ricks
The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions- the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss or smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment, and the countless infinitesimals of pleasurable and genial feeling.
Samuel Coleridge
If there is among you a poor man, one of your brethren,in any of your towns within your land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.
Deuteronomy 15:7-8 The Revised Standard Version
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one. Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
John 17:20-23 The New International Version

There are four ways God answers prayer: No, not yet; No, I love you too much; Yes, I thought you'd never ask; Yes, and here's more.

The moral test of any society is how it treats its weakest children, elderly, sick, needy and handicapped.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy steadfast love; according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable and receives the impossible.
Corrie Ten Boom
No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.

God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. They outlive the lives of those who uttered them.
E. M. Bounds
You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops, You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the desert overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing.
Psalm 65:9-13 The New International Version

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ; not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

The only important decision we have to make is to live with God; He will make the rest.

Never lose sight of the fact that old age needs so little but needs that little so much.
Margaret Willour
The confession of evil works is the first beginning of good works.
Augustine of Hippo
The perfect church service would be one we were almost unaware of; our attention would have been on God.
C. S. Lewis
He felt the full warmth of that pleasure from which the proud shut themselves out; the pleasure which not only goes with humiliation, but which almost is humiliation. Men who have escaped death by a hair have it, and men whose love is returned by a woman unexpectedly, and men whose sins are forgiven them.
G. K. Chesterton
Tonight thousands of people on this earth will die of starvation. Most of you will not give a s--t. And most of you will be more upset with the fact that I said "s--t" than that thousands of people will die tonight.
Tony Campolo
In the morning, prayer is the key that opens to us the treasures of God's mercies and blessings; in the evening, it is the key that shuts us up under His protection and safeguard.

The heart benevolent and kind, The most resembles God.
Robert Burns
Man wishes to be happy even when he lives so as to make happiness impossible.
Augustine
The further one grows spiritually, the more and more people one loves and the fewer and fewer one likes.
Gale Webbe
I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried unto thee; and thou hast healed me.
Psalm 30:1-2 The King James Version
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord- and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
Isaiah 11:2-5 The New International Version
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
2 Chronicles 1:10 The King James Version
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorifed together.
Romans 8:16-17 The King James Version

To you I call, O Lord my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent; I will be like those who have gone down to the pit. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
