I don't know if there is already a thread about this, but I didn't see one...
I figure I'm going to hate myself for this later seeing as I'm admitting that I'm only in middle school while most everyone else is I'm guessing in high school...I'm tired of seeing all of these marching band related threads since they don't apply to me. Anyone else here in middle school and want to chat about middle school band programs?

Anyone else here in middle school and want to chat about middle school band programs? I'm in middle school, too, 7th grade, intermediate class. I don't plan on ever doing marching band. I can't even play standing up, so there's no way I can play while walking.

I am!!! but i play better then most high school people so I don't know if i count or not. And, i'll be in high school soon.

Ugh. Middle school band was awful. Well, so was high school band. I'm a junior, and I quit last year.
Remember kiddos, orchestra > band. And at our summer orchestra camp, we're going to have a band, too, anyway. The players are much better than my former band compadres.

I'm a HS senior. domokun ) Awww there so cute ^^ lol. i hated middle school band, i was stuck in the worlds worst lowbrass section, there was only 2 good ppl in lowbrass in 8th grade me, tuba and a trombonegirl, that was in 7th ^^ and were also the only lowbrass ppl to get into symphonic band in highschool. i allways hated 6th grade beggining band becuase we had the 4 "main" instument, flute clarinet trumpet trombone. tehn at the middle of the year we had tryouts to swite to the "secondary" istruments like alto sax and percussion. i tried out for percusion and didnt make it becuase i was to good (?) then the "thirdary"(? lol) class tryouts came for tuba, baritone, oboe, bassclarinet,basoon, tenor and bari sax and french horn came. i tried out for baritone and made it (yay) but then my msbd (middle school band director, hooray for abreviations) being the nazi she is switched me to tuba. and I had to teach my friggen self how to play it, i played trombone and i had no clue about the valves lol, and everything was an octave lower. i had a chance this year to switch to bariton scence theres only 2 next year and 4 tubas but scence 2 tubas are graduating that year that would leave 1 buy him self the next year. wow this is a long post. by cute little muffins! heart lol im having fun xp domokun domokun xp domokun domokun

Ahhhh!!!!! MEEEEEE!!!!
That is...*cough, cough* Ahem. I am in 8th grade! Hoohaha. I have already started my drumline auditions to see what instruments I'm going to play in marching season, even though I already know I'm going to be in pit. I have to be if I'm going to be the pit leader! Yay me.
Yay! Oggy called us cute. I mean, boo. I'm more mature than I sound, and smarter too! And I'm tall, if that counts for anything...hehe.

Hi there!!! I'm in middle school band! Our band rox! Buuut, yeah, I only have 8 more days of middle school band, until I go onto the great and almighty *big theme song music* HIGH SCHOOL BAND!!! But I think the reason a lot if people talk about marching band is that some schools start that in seventh grade, so don't feel down! Embrace your middle school bandness! OH YEAH!

My school has a really awesome band director, and everyone loves her except for the fools who took band and actually made sure they messed up to get on the teacher's nerves. They got F's and are no longer there.
I had the worst beginner band year ever. The class gets devided into two groups for the beginning band: brass and woodwind. I used to play trumpet before I got to try out for french horn, and I was THE ONLY GIRL IN THE WHOLE BRASS SECTION!!! Still am, as a matter of fact. No girl has switched. And now I play french horn and I get to sit with my friends, who happen to be the alto sax, tenor sax, and flute players, since the intermidiate band has both brass and woodwind.
I'm not cute... Far from it. I'm the annoying little 7th grader with a highschoolers-phobia who enjoys pestering her high school brother and telling him he should have done band and not orchestra because it's so much more fun and he's stuck with his guitar.
Man, this is a long post. I'm babbling, aren't I? ... Sorry...
