To anyone whoever played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time:
Was your heart not also broken when all oppurtunities for Link to be slashily involved with Sheik were foiled by that blasted Princess Zelda? whee

I have a theory on that: There is an actual boy!Sheik.
In the 80's cartoon series, there was an episode where Sheik was introduced as a bodyguard to Princess Zelda, and Link was a jelous little man. They were two seperate characters in that, so I see no reason why they couldn't be in OoT.
It would make more sense for Zelda to pose as someone who already existed than someone who didn't, as you could have an existing reputation and some sort of history that could be verified if you were questioned.
It could've been the man!Sheik watching over Link, and I'm convinced it was him at the water temple, as he was totally checking Link out. Other times, like the time Zelda revealed herself as an imposter, or last appearance of Sheik, it was her.
Besides, it's never good to let a little thing like reality get in the way of a good slashing XD.

Oooh, yes, I quite like your theory! The whole water temple scenerio was what made me love Sheik all the way.
I hardly remember the cartoon series that was on so long ago! I would love to see that episode.
Nevertheless, thanks for replying. 3nodding

Doesn't really matter what if sheik is a guy or a girl in the games because we have imaginations of our own and like Lucifers_angel41, we can write our own fanfics and draw our own pics or vids. But it would have been awesomable if shiek was a dude.I like Zelda but link and guy sheik belong together. whee

But Sheik is a guy. I thought that when they went to the Temple, they referred Sheik as 'he' and that it was only like a disguise transformation thingy. GAAHHH. I'm sorry, but Sheik is definitely male. The anatomy is that of a guy completely. I mean. seriously now! gonk Except in melee [sp?] when they him have boobies ;______; They do this to us on purpose you know. /3

Sheik is male, it's a magical transformation. At the very least, in the manga, Sheik is male and presented as male, and a separate personality and identity entirely from Zelda.
In the game, it's never made clear.
And in Super Smash Brothers Melee/Brawl, the creator of *Super Smash Brothers* - NOT Miyamoto - refuses to believe Sheik is male, which is why Sheik is female in those games.
