Bout #1: [Enub!a] Divant, Narihira vs [Komm Kayriel] Sanada Xio

FIGHT.

Xio entered the ring with a calm and reserved gait, tattered grey cloak enclosing battlewear and weapons alike; hiding his form from view. He took up his position between the two larger elemental pits on his half of the arena and merely waited there for his opponent to show. Nothing else, simply waiting.

Narihira entered the arena upon a small platform of moving iar. The albino bender would have her hands folded in front of her as she looked on with indifference. Her red eyes flicked towards her opponent and she inclined hr head politely. Her alighted the platform and the wind moved on, brushing past her opponent gently. She'd smile and whisper into the breeze that carried to his ears. "May you be triumphant." Narihira would remain in the same position, serenly smiling.

The light breeze Enubia sent Xio's way broke before him, continuing beyond without touching him. Her whisper in the diverted winds were not lost upon him, however.

"I have no other choice but to be..." The fire pits erupted once again, and he continued to wait.

((X_____________x sorry I'm late posting again!))

She nodded and moved her hand in a dissmissive gesture. The air in the arena began to move to her side of the stadium. Narihira closed her eyes and gathered part of the wind around her body, so her clothes and hair twirled about her. She bent her hands close to her frame then savagely pushed out ((think chest passing)). Narihira rose into the air along with the high moving air currents, eyes still shut. She moved her left arm in a slapping movement and another blast of wind sailed towards him with a pressure and velocity that belied her simple stature.

Xio remained as ever calm, something not entirely expected for most firebenders. Beneath the cloak, dark pupils lit up, their lackluster depths glistening into flame.

Around him, his own air gathered. Not of wind, as his airbender opponent, but of heated gases in the common breathing air about him. His left foot slid forward out and from beneath the cloak, making a quarter-circle turn to the left, right foot mimicking in opposing stance.

Xio brought up his left hand, gauntleted as it was, performing several lateral crossing motions just as the flame pits erupted again. He drew on this heat, gathering it into him, while thrusting up his left hand to command the fire itself into a serpentine ribbon across the space separating Xio from his opponent.

His strip of concentrated and controlled flames would pass through and dissipate into her burst of condensed air pressure, raising the temperature greatly unless she could alter the course of her unleashed attacks. If not, in this case, the blast would expand beyond its momentum and force containment, doing little else than becoming more heated air for Xio to exert his will upon.

"I told you. I have no other choice but to succeed. Come at me." His shrouded right hand remained so, hidden from sight and mind.

A delighted smile crossed her face as she heard this and for a moment her image wavered in the air. Now in her hand was a long sword composed of an irredesant green. With a wave of her hand, another blast of wind came from the north, casuing the particles around them to slow down, and thereby lose heat. "That's rather impolite. Forcing a lady to attack you when this distance would do me fine?" She tilted her head to the side. "Show me that you are WORTHY of my close range attacks before I do so." Narihira gave him a respectful nod. "And you shant pass unless I see fit."

Xio gave a snort, a small burst of flame erupting from his nostrils. It seemed that he was amused, of all things.

"I do not distinguish sex or standing on the field of battle, if you think to take me by sword, you must first prove to me you are worthy of even setting eyes upon steel, let alone wielding your own or challenging mine."

He didn't move from beneath his cloak, but the air in his vicinity grew noticably warmer as his left hand continued passive movements. He was simply increasing his area's temperature.

"Come." He said this single word one last time, no fire evident about his person.

((X_x I meant staff not sword! Apologies, I don't know whats wrong with me this week...ah well >_> I'll make it both.))

Narihira would sigh. "I said nothing of 'standings on the battle feild', but very well, we're wasting time." One gesture of her arms and the air surrounding Narihira was less resistant. She'd crouch, then lept off her platform, and into the air with surprising speed. With a motion of her hand, and other strong gust of wind arrived, pushing her closer towards her opponent. Another wave of her handand an air cushion would develop on her opponents platform and she would land on her two feet. She sheathed her sword in the sheath called her staff. "Satisfied?"

The youth shook his head, visible by the hood shifting back and forth. His voice droned out from within, it sounded... cold, as though he were robbed of heat.

"Disappointing. I will end this quickly."

The syllables weren't voiced when he began his assault, and he was a mite too fast for a firebender.

He brought his right foot forwad, sweeping from its earlier shoulder-width position. Fire proceeded and followed this motion, creating a two-step bath of flame too close to the ground to affect much, but high enough to catch her if she jumped out of surprise (Unchecked, the wave will continue for 25 feet, the following will continue for 50, only .5 times faster than the first). The first step was readily visible, and moved with considerable speed, however... the second step burned hotter and traveled farther. Since this was a basic form, he didn't need to place the bulk of his concentration upon it.

Xio lanced out with his left hand; middle two fingers tucked under and into his palm, sending forth a block of superheated gases directly for his opponent. Unless she managed to dodge very far, quickly (for it is a large area affected, a cube of 30 feet), she would find herself short of breath - and breath was everything in a battle. The area around Xio seemed cool, after this.

With a pushing motion, Narihira brought a large gust of wind into the arena, pushing the hot gases away from her and towards what was her side of the arena before she moved. However, the hot air had affected her breathing summat, but then again, thats what an air bender is master of.

Narihira took steps backwards and away from the arc of fire. She raised her left leg and planted it back down on the ground so the right side of her calf was visible. The other foot shoved off the ground and propeled her to spin in a wide cirlce. Right leg sticking out as she spun, her right arm down by her hip was crooked, as if holding something, palm facing up. Her left hand was above her head, palm facing downwards. Then suddenly bought down her right leg and slammed it to the ground.

By now the sky had darkened and the clouds would begin to swirl. A small funnel appeared from the center of the swirling clouds and jutted down into the arc of fire. The fire began to rise up an into the tornado, and soon began a swirling mass of wind and fire when it touched down between the two opponents. She touched a button on the side of her staff and four propeller blades jutted out from the head. Narihira smiled. "and I'm dissapointing?" She retorted over the roar of the swirling winds.

The young man shook his head again, whispering into the wind; "Disappointing." The luster was culled from his shrouded eyes, and he droned himself into the process.

He spoke nothing else, but continued his assault. So far, she'd been quite predictable to him, and it seemed she was going to continue to be.

Xio struck forward with his left fist, sending out three moderately-powerful and compact fireballs. He swept his right foot in a half-circle and brought the dual-flame arc back with his motion. This was repeated with the opposite, right fist with fireballs and left foot with arcs. This quickly became a pattern, so that every step he took - the floor was heating, the air was heating, fire was flying towards and past her, threatening to crash down upon her. At this point, the sheer thermal pressure was breathtaking.

Thw whirlwind would take in all the fire and the heat that would be in teh air and rising off the floor. It'd then travel to the top of the tornado, simply because hot air rises. However, it was getting harder to breathe, even with her tornado generating all that wind. She turned pushed another button on the side of her staff and the blades began to rotate in a clockwise direction, and acting as a fan, cooled the air around her by moving the particles. With her free hand, she made the air around her, once more, less resistant, because thats what hot air did; cause humidity that made the air seem thick, thereby making it less resistant caused the air around her to become cooler.
