With his wings dragging slowly on the ground, the god of loneliness didn't appear as authoritative or as proud as he once had. He was exhausted from flying about, though he had no destination. Why he even bothered to fly the way he did made him wonder sometimes, but Athrun could have cared less until times like these when he really did want the extra amount of energy.

Blowing his puff of dark red mane from in front of the Eye across his blindfold, Athrun heaved a heavy sigh and flopped down on his side, spreading his wing on that side out flat across the ground as if it were a blanket, curling his other at his side to hide his heiroglyphic markings and his ankh. His head flopped onto the ground and he sighed contently, reveling in the sleep he needed, but wouldn't get just yet.

User Image Umo had been longing to hide from the heat; his dark pelt did no good to him in this sunlight... even when he was at the swamplands with his mate; Kikawaida or at the Kusini Mwenzi. He panted, his crimson eyes blinking in his attempt to find some place to cool off. He hated to leave Kika and Kinamasi to seek something cool; but being so dark was horrid. So, he took a short leave, alone with perhaps a small hunt... since he was growing tired of Frogs again.

So, along he padded; his tail curling slowly at the end. He tossed his head upwards to get his brackish mane out of his eyes, though they were doing more good there than on his forehead. He curled his nose; almost upset with himself for leaving the swamp lands where he could lay in cool mud all day... but he was antsy.. and had to eat something less chewy. Off he had gone and off he was going.

Athrun was still flopped on his side when he felt the heat of another body pass so close to him that it was rather amazing he didn't notice sooner. He decided it was the sheer exhaustion that had kept him from noticing sooner and he sat up in a sudden rush, his puff of cloudy dark red mane fluttering around his head and right in front of his Eye.

Grumbling he blew it out of the way and attempted to pick his wings up but let them fall again. The large black lion in front of him seemed a little oblivious at first, but he figured that was because he'd just popped up. It wasn't his fault.

Umo, being that he was a state of annoyance already; did not have the tolerance of the heat that most creatures would. This was the time in which his bad side sort of... kicked in a bit. He was grumpy. The tip of his tail flicked uneasily as he walked, almost as if... eh... perhaps it was the heat he felt on his back and not someone looking at him. He could not help but look around; his eyes blinking in the sunlight. It certainly didn't feel like... the sun.

He stopped walking, looking about for a moment before speaking out.

"Hello?" He said in his usual monotone voice; glancing about.

((I am not sure if Umo can even see the fellow... so... yeah. Um... he's facing away from him. XD

Monotone? Oh this would be loads of fun wouldn't it? A monotone voice was all the god needed to knock him down to sleep and look what he'd just found.

Frowning a little for a split second, Athrun plastered a warm smile on his muzzle just to appear polite and stood up to let the smaller lion see him.

"Hello there. What brings such a dark lion like yourself out of the shade young one?" Athrun asked aloud, flicking his wings back so that they folded over his back, showing his heiroglyphic markings on his shock white fur.

Umo looked around, his ears twitching in movement as he tried to hear who ever was there. He looked around, finally spotting the white one; making him feel foolish for not noticing. He stared, his crimson eyes studying the strange lion that was before him. What was on his face? Umo had only ever met anouther with something odd like that, and that was Seke; his serval freind with the bell aboust his neck. Then, suddenly it hit Umo that this strangers back was... not... normal. He shook his head slowly, looking closer. "Greetings." he said simply, his voice flat. The tip of his tail twitched. Wings? He shook his head again. Then he winced; YOUNG? He shook his head with his eyes closed. He was far from young.

Umo could not find words to say, but after a moment of silence; he spoke again. "Am I dreaming?" He asked, taking a step backwards slightly. He wasn't sure if he had bit by anouther snake or not; was he seeing things?

"Not as far as I know, though honestly I'm tired enough to tell you that no, no you're not dreaming, cuz I'd be the one asleep and I'm not." Athrun stuck his tongue out in an "ack" face as he realized that he'd talked himself in a giant circle by accident. Tongue tying was his specialty though, or so it seemed at least.

Sighing heavily he stood up and ruffled his wings to let some cool air into them, that way he wasn't as hot as he seemed and he walked towards Umo. "So young one, what're you doing out here? Hunting?"

That seemed at least what any other lion of his color would be doing out in the sun, or at least the only reason Athrun could think of.

Umo shook his head with a confused look. Of course. This creature must be a spirit. He was suprised he could see one. Suddenly, he looked a bit ill at the thought that, perhaps he is here to lead me too the next world. He swallowed hte lump in his throat, hoping; very confidantly, that the result was not death. He sniffed the air to see if he could scent this lion. "Well, I am sorry. I have never met a... Lion of... such... well... odditiy; if you excuse the phrase." he said in monotone, looking wide eyed no longer but a bit... well... uncomfortable. He had never even thought of seeing a lion of such.. well... oddness. In Umo's case, this was an almost frighteneing thing.

Umo winced at the sound of this stranger calling him young, but the last thing he wanted too do was anger this... winged Lion. So he bit his tongue. Looking at this stranger who was now walking closer, he sighed. "Yes and no. I am taking a small break from fatherhood to take a walk, when I have come to the realization that It would be cooler back home at my pride." he said, almost puffing out his chest a bit to look a bit more... stronger but the last thing he needed was to out do a... well... god!

"Well, it has a tendency that some of us gods are just oddities as you put it so eloquantly." Athrun said with a chuckle. It was true, Athrun himself was fairly odd, for being so old as well as looking quite so young. Never in all his thousands of years had he thought to think of himself as too desperatly old, but in the end it turned out that he pretty much was ancient. ANy lion that could come upon him would think that he was just strange.

"The coolest place to be would be somewhere in the Mistweaver territory, or in a dark forest." the god responded, smiling kindly at the other lion despite his immediate inkling to just leave. He always sort of had that feeling though, so it was nothing new.

Umo was calming down a bit. His muscles were more relaxed and he was not as wide eyed. He was not so sure of what that word this god used... but he was sure it was...well... he wasn't sure to be truthful. he could not lie. Umo felt like... he was just standing next to one of his aquantances rather than a god. He felt... well... like perhaps he was not supposed to be seeing a god... wasn't it a bad thing? Or perhaps... a bad thing to come. he shook his head. "I have never wanderd too the mistweavers... nor the dark forest.. and usually do not try to intude on other prides... just to be on the safe side."

He sat down comfortably now, his tail curling in his relaxed state. "So, you are a god... of what maay I ask?

"Ah, I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that pridelands tend to run thick with blood when others breach them. It's been a long time for me, to tell the truth. I haven't been on earth in ages." Athrun said with a long yawn, stretching one of his wings out to the side faintly before settling down on the ground again.

"The god of Loneliness, though those that aren't lonely can't feel it, so don't get all intimdated like the others. It's nothing too bad." Though the lion before him didn't seem like he could be intimidated at all, with his laid back nature and his monotone voice. Athrun sort of liked him.

Umo looked skyward then to he god, his crimson eyes blinking. "You are a real god then, I was not sure but now I am." He said, pointing to the sky with a paw. He knew many lions who had never even had an intrest in the sky or anything above them other than trees. With a outtake of breath he looked around to see if anyone else was aboust. "If I was lonely, what exactually that do?" He asked, looking at the god with a more, trusting look.

"So, being the god of lonliness means you do what?"

"Well of course I'm really real." Athrun said with a smirk, blowing his puff of a mane out from in front of the Eye on his blindfold so he could see. "Now, if you were lonely you'd be sad you know? In a way that's what I do. I find those with sadness and loneliness in their hearts, at least those with enough of it to call to me, and attempt to make them happy again."

It was a simple explination, though in all honesty Athrun knew that meeting Umo was a complete coincidence. He couldn't find any loneliness in him at all. That sort of made the god happy, though in a bizzare sort of way.

Umo sat uneasliy, watching Athrun puff the mane out of his... eye. Umo wondered if he was blind or if he had eyes at all under there. He llistend to the god carefully, watching his ever move and also, his own movements. He was sure to not seem disrespectful or anything that might harm his... well... not sure what it would harm. He just wanted to seem... acceptable; if that was the word. He just nodded his head. "So, in reality you do not bring loneliness but conteract it?" He asked, his curiosity taking over him imsensly. He was not sure, but was starting to like this God.

Umo could remember when he was lonely and wondered if this God was the one who brough Kika into his life

Nodding his head slowly, Athrun laid down in front of Umo tiredly and spread his wings to either side of his body. If it weren't disrespectful he would have laid his head down where he was, but sadly it was one of the most disrespectful things you could ever possibly do in the company of another. So he refrained from appearing asleep.

"Sort of. In a way that's how it works. The thing that makes a being's heart cry to me, that's what I look for to help them. If only just to ease the pain then also to take it away." The god said.

This lion, Umo, seemed to ask all the right questions for one that wasn't entirely lonely. It made Athrun wonder if he'd seen him once before.
