It's really becomming unbearable..
I can't believe someone could hate someone the way they were born. I usually don't have the confidence to start a thread, but it's really been irritating me badly. Thick minded people saying things like "Gays are going to hell because the bible says so" and "Gays should burn in hell." ... It makes me ashamed to be Bi, it really does.
Excuse me whilst I type about this.. I hope someone reads it.. sweatdrop
No more gettin' married. This whole can't get married thing is really pissing me off.. I can understand if it's something the church only did, but I mean, the state also does have it availble not to be married in the church.. So what athority would if have over them? It should have none. I swear, whenever the government gets involved in something, they just twist everything to make it follow their own personal opinion. At least that's how they make me feel. If not, I wish someone would re-assure me.
Unacceptable People say that being gay is wrong because it is written in the bible.. Others simply say they are not comfortable with it. When kids are in history class, and they see a different culture, you tend to hear them laugh.. Why? Because it's different people. It's the same thing. Except, they aren't another culture, they're your next door neighbors. And they wont be leaving for... Ever?
Religious Reasons First of all, I had to go to a ******** catholic school for eight years. Don't try and preach to me that the bible is a written word form from Jesus, or God. When you study about it, it says "Man wrote the Bible, with the power of the Holy Spirit" The power of the Holy Spirit made sure they needed to include anti-homosexual remarks? I wouldn't think so. I wouldn't even think Jesus would want it this way. Isn't that what religion is about? Isn't it about love and acceptance? Is this not what Jesus taught? They're not thinking... Not at all. I for one do not believe in religion, by the way. I know it seems it. Sometimes I think kids that don't go to catholic school are more apt to believe in religion.. sweatdrop
Now.. If any homophobe who could possibly prove to me that Homosexuality is wrong, speak. whee heart
Our culture is getting more accepting, I have a feeling.. I could hope it only gets better..
Yes, i'm done.. gonk

I think it's kind of hard to believe that, but it could be possible. I do feel bad for them, too. sweatdrop I just wouldn't live a lie though, it'd be too hard.

It's not that I don't understand where you're coming from, but two things:
1) Don't take it out on straight people. Really, as much as it may seem that way sometimes, this is not the heteros vs. the homos. Please don't turn it into that. As someone who for a long time believed she was straight -- but always an avid Gay Rights supporter -- I can tell you it just makes people feel like s**t. Straight people can't help being straight any more than gay people can help being gay.
2) Please don't say something makes you "ashamed to be bi." I have spent so much ******** time being ashamed of being bi, and statements like that really upset me. I am so sick of the queer community treating me like I'm some kind of outsider...like I'm some kind of half-breed. I mean, ********, I like guys. I do. And I'm sorry, you know? If I could just pick one side of the fence to stay on, I would. But I can't help it.

I've caught a lot of s**t from everyone, so i'm not trying to battle against anyone. . Just trying to get my point across.

I didn't realize this till my summer school teacher wrote 'conscientious' in my report card :/ which means I conform to my conscience, in a way, I let my doubts and guilts run me... maybe I thought too much into it?

Two of the only four passages anti-homosexual that I have found in the Bible were written by Paul; the other two are in Leviticus. I went to a topic in "extended discusion," and there there was a topic that debated is homosexuality wrong. They had one rule: No religiously based remarks. Not one person could come up with a decent and relevent remark that touched why it was wrong ^_^.
My opinion on the government interfering in marriage is that the government should ban marriage for everyone. Marriage is a religiously defined word, and shouldn't be used in government politics because of the segregation of church and state admendment. So, by banning marriage for everyone and making everyone have civil union, we are allowing equality to everyone ^_^ Pretty much, whenever they use the word marriage in the constitution, change it with civil union. That way every allowance of marriage now is equivalent to civil union!

Sorry, I had to throw this in here too...Montigo Dominic I recently had a very long conversation with a close friend regarding the matter of homosexuality and the bible. One cross refrence that she stated was that durring the years when jesus was a wandering healer, there was a roman general who had a slave (A boy) and in that time, the generals of armies usually had slaves for sexual purpose. Now the one thing that she stressed was, if a slave ever got sick, they general could just go out and buy a new one. This general on the other hand had heard of jesus's healing power and sent out troops to request hi help for the child. Jesus did come and heal this boy. When the general had asked jesus why he did it even though he knew that this child was for homosexual intention, Jesus replied, I don't care what you do. God loves all whom he created.
So this kind of is the general statement of what she told me, I mean there was a hell of a lot more detail.
I still have yet to study more on this matter, but to expand on the bible, I recently spoke with a man that came into my workplace. I began a discusion with him regarding the bible and he provided me with his theory that the bible happened to be written by a council. There are gaps in the story of jesus where for years he goes unoted, who is to say that the people who submitted the story of these years did not have to do with something that was seen as unwanted bu this council, who is to say that the stories in the bible were not edited to fit into the specific guidelines that these people wanted. And who is to say that the origional text of the bible was not misenterpreted.
My friend also said that there was a homophobic pope, centuries back that saw homosexuality as the destruction of the human race. That he thought that everyone was going to do that and have same sex relations, like a trend and no opposite sex interactions in the sexual nature would happen anymore. So he made it a heathen thing and people that practiced it, would be like people that were prosecuted for witchcraft, an unfair trial resulting in death.
Just some things to think on... I must study them more, currently, my personal studies have proven it to be a genetic occurance. It's just something to consider

In my opinion, there are three types of Homophobes. eek *shrug*
1. Closeted homosexuals who have been brainwashed into their thinking (supposedly 1/3 of homophobes are)
2. Those who have had a bad experience with gay people. (Hey it happens)
3. Those who believe the bible knows all and that because it says homosexuality is wrong, they believe it.
Just my take on it.
