Adrastos sat indian-style in the very middle of the floor of the pound, completely oblivious to the fact that he was blocking a high traffic area and that various pedestrians were having to jump over couches or weave their way through chairs in order to find a clear path around him. He did not appear to have any purpose in sitting there, as all he appeared to be doing was absentmindedly playing with the ribbons that were wrapped around his tail.
Finally someone became fed up with this large purple obstruction, marched over, and plopped themselves down in front of him. "Dras..." Mizuki grumbled, "What the heck are you doing?"

Adrien tugged at her brother's hand, attempting to pull him in the direction she wanted to go. Aiden scowled at her and tried to pull his hand away. "Adrien, what are you doing?" he demanded, eyeing her with his pale blue eyes that matched hers. Adrien sighed. "Aidey!" she said, her voice soft. "I want to go meet people! We're new, we need to introduce ourselves!" Aiden shook his head slowly. "We do not," he replied, causing his sister to pout. He scowled and headed off in an random direction, not paying attention to where he was going, until WHAM. He smacked into a rather large and odd looking cat, sitting smack dab in the middle of the floor.

Even Mizuki's annoyed voice seemed to take a moment to get through to the currently ribbon-obsessed cat. Finally he looked up, and just as he was opening his mouth to answer (Probably with "Huh?"), when something large smacked into his back, causing him to topple over with a small squeak, right on top of Mizuki.
"Hey!" The smaller cat protested as she suddenly had a mass of purple fur and leather thrown on top of her. "Get off me!" She tried flailing, and pushing at him with all her strength, but to no avail. She briefly considered kneeing him in a particularly painful area (Which just happened to be so perfectly aligned with her knee), but even she wasn't that cruel.

Aiden had toppled over as well, but quickly got to his feet, looking and acting like nothing had happened to him. Adrien walked over to him and took his hand again. "See, Aidey? You should have followed me." Aiden cast her a warning glare, then detached his hand from hers and held it out to the cat he had ran into. "I'm terribly sorry, sir," he said politely, then added "And miss," as he spied the smaller female cat. "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Adrien peered around her brother, studying the large cat carefully with her blue eyes.

Confused, Adastros blinked and looked in both directions, then behind him, for the person whom the male had called "sir". He certainly wasn't accustomed to being spoken to in such a manner. After a long pause after which it became evident that it must have been him, he blinked again before replying, "Oh, that's ok. I shouldn't have been sitting in the middle of the floor." He grinned sheepishly and took the preoffered hand, shaking it energetically. "My name is Adrastos, but most people call me Dras."
"NOW you figure out that you shouldn't have been sitting there?!" Feeling as if she was slowly being crushed by the much larger adult on top of her, she began to descend into the realms of, as many who knew her called it, "Uber Gear Mode". She was not a pleasant cat when roused, as many had learned. "Will you get off me already, you OAF?!" with one hard shove, she managed to poke her head out from beneath his stomach. "Unless you want to lose some valuable body parts, MOVE!"

Aiden smiled politely at Dras, but his eyes were on the blue cat. "Hello, Dras," he replied, shifting his gaze back over to the large male. "I'm Aiden and this is-" "Adrien!" Adrien piped up, stepping around her brother, taking his hand again. Aiden looked down at it, but said nothing, resigning himself. Adrien smiled sweetly at Dras and the female cat, still clinging to Aiden's hand.

A look of surprise flashed across the large purple cat's face as he seemed to finally realize that he had been lying on top of poor Mizuki. "Oh!" He quickly hopped up. "Sorry about that, Gear. I didn't see you there," he said, once again his voice sounding sheepish. His tail curled around him, his fingers once again found the ends of the soft ribbon encirling it, returning to their absentminded playing. This continued for a few seconds before he glanced back up at the twins, smiling once again. "You two look very alike, you know," he pointed out, as if this was some phenomenal discovery.
Muttering darkly, Mizuki pulled herself up into a standing position using a nearby table as leverage. Her legs were slightly weak from the circulation having been cut off for so long. "Stupid... Oaf..." She grumbled, brushing off her blue camoflauge-patterned clothes. After one more irritable adjustment of her gloves, her gaze was pointed towards the twins as well. "My name's Gear," she said gruffly, trying to rearrange her face into something that appeared welcoming.

Aiden's smile lessened and he nodded slightly to Dras. "Yes, we do..." Adrien's smile, however, increased. "We're twins!" Aiden sighed inwardly and turned to address Gear. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Gear," he said, nodding to her. Adrien smiled at her as well. "Yes, it is. A pleasure to meet you both!"

"Ohhh, that makes sense," Adrastos replied, nodding. "Two of my siblings are twins. I guess I should have figured it out without you having to tell me!" He laughed softly, seemingly at his own stupidity. "Oh well." Looking around, he appeared to spot something on a nearby couch and, without giving it any particular amount of thought, pounced.
Her smile becoming a bit more genuine, Mizuki held out her hand for them to shake. "At least you two appear to have manners," she said, casting a glance in the direction of the large purple cat who now appeared to have his head stuck in between two couch cushions. "Unlike my simpleton brother over there."

Aiden chuckled softly. "He's not a simpleton. Just... oblivious," he said, flashing her a wide grin. Adrien clutched his hand tighter and smiled, watching Dras. Aiden looked down at her and tried to pry his hand away, but she wouldn't let go. Sighing, he looked back at Gear. "Dras is your brother? You certainly don't look alike."

After taking a minute to realize that his head was now firmly lodged between two cushions from the force with which he had propelled himself towards them, Adrastos began to get a little worried. He couldn't seem to remove his head from its trap, and he couldn't very well go through life with his head stuck in a couch. Finally, in a very Dras-like move, he wrenched his head upwards with all his might, and was rewarded for his efforts with the renewed freedom of his head, as well as a pair of couch cushions hanging from either side of his neck, where they had gotten snagged on his choker. Happily he trotted back to where the others were standing. "I found a nickel!" Grinning, he held it up for all to see.
"I suppose that's another way of putting it," she replied, blushing a little despite herself at Aiden's grin. "The hell? She thought, I don't blush. Clearing her throat, she briefly eyed the holding of hands struggle between the twins before her eyes flashed back to Aiden's face. "Well, we're not related by blood, but we've both been given a home by Kita. So I suppose he's the equivalent of my step-brother?"

Adrien's eyes widened at the sight of Dras and she giggled, politely covering her mouth with her little paw, the one not holding Aiden's to his dismay. "Dras, I'm afraid you found more than a nickle," she said, still giggling. Aiden shook his head, then continued his conversation with Gear. "Ah, I understand. We apparently have two of those as well... Charuan and Merloue? We haven't met them yet, however."

Blinking, he eyed the nickel more closely as if expecting some other thing to be clinging to its shiny silver surface. "What do you mean, more than a nickel?" An expression of recognition on his face, he looked up, excited. "Do you think it's a quarter?!"
"Ahhh, Char and Merl," Mizuki replied, nodding. "I've heard of both of them, and I may have met them briefly... I don't have much of a memory for brief meetings, so I'm not completely sure. I've heard them mentioned by some of my siblings, though. I've got quite a few..."

Adrien giggled again. "No, no, silly, that is a nickel." Dropping Aiden's hand, she walked over to Dras and tugged on one of his new aquired cushion accessories. Realizing Adrien had finally let go of his hands, Aiden shoved both in his pockets, before grinning back at Gear. "She likes to hold my hand. I have no idea why, but she does," he said sheepishly, before returning to the topic at hand. "I hope you've only heard good things about them," he said, laughing. "How many siblings do you have?"

"Oh, good!" Adrastos exclaimed when it was confirmed that his finding was indeed a nickel. "... Wait, aren't quarters worth mo..." His realization trailed off as he felt a tug on his neck from Adrien pulling on one of the cushions. Looking down, he was quite astonished to realize that the cushions that had been imprisoning him appeared to still be following him! Dastardly cushions! Panicking, he began to run around in circles in a mad effort to... What was he hoping to accomplish by running in circles?
"Twins tend to be very close," Mizuki noted in reply to the hand holding issue. "It's not really surprising that she would cling to you like that. You being male, I guess you're less subject to that sort of thing. I've noticed it with Milu and Vilu; Milu has a tendency to hide behind her brother." A slightly unpleasant look crossed her face at the mention of the female twin, but it quickly passed. "Mm... I don't recall hearing anything negative," she assured. "Though Merl is apparantly a bit grumpy. Maari is fond enough of him though... Me? 8," she snorted. "Quite a big family we have."
