I saw something about this on LiveJournal, and later, on the Gackt thread in the Music Forum. Apparently, Yoshiki is going to/asked Gackt to start a band together and stuff...Anime News Network Yoshiki, Gackt to Start Band (2006-08-05 12:59:44)When answering a fan question this afternoon at Otakon, Japanese rock legend Yoshiki announced he will start a band with J-Pop star Gackt. ANN's exclusive interview with Yoshiki will be available after the convention.
I want to see that CNN interview. Did anyone else hear about this?

I love Gackt as a solo artist!! (plus in most pictures of Yoshiki he looks like a total Gackt wannabe =_=)

Yeah...I was crushed when I heard that. :[ But maybe they're just forming a band...and not going to be in it!

I like Gackt solo. He'd distract attention from everyone else in the band because of how amazingly cool he is. ;D
Also Gackt seems like the type of person (to me) who would prefer to work alone than in a team... he did decide to write all the music/lyrics for Malice Mizer's CD Merveilles even though they were a band. domokun

Gackt-san as solo is the best! :3 I hope the band thing doesn't happen... or if it does, Gackt-san is only a manager or something, cause I really, really want him to stay solo...
On the other hand, if he decides to go Visual Kei again... XD

I don't think that will happen ... Gackt is a perfectionist, assuming what his autobiography says is accurate, and probably would not like to work in a band. He quit malice Mizer because of that and he would probably have the same problems.
If it does happen, however, I'm sure that many Gackt fans will follow it to see where it goes then decide whether they like it. ^^
I agree with Numaiei; he would distract everyone ...

I think it might be a one or two album stint, with Gackt performing solo on the side, like alot of Japanese bands are doing. I mean, look at L'arc~en~ciel. Amazing band that goes on tour and pops out album after album, while at the same time, their vocalist, HYDE, has an amazing solo carreer. So, it might be a good thing. Might help with new musical ideas, seeing as Gackt is getting a bit boring and sounding the same song after song (Love Letter, Diabolos). Diabolos was good, but kinda repetitive, but look at Kagero. An amazing song Chachamaru wrote for Gackt I'm hoping for the best. I've never heard of Yoshiki-san before 0.o I hope he's hawt cool

there's nothing wrong with it as long as he keeps the solo-ness on the side... a lot of people do that. sweatdrop *can't remember any examples at the moment*
