An idea hatched in a little canine mind, simple as that. He wouldn't eat anymore meat! An abstract idea, especially for a nonsentient carnivore, but it followed as far as he cared. Well, it did for the moment anyways, one of those good things about not questioning one's actions, nor having any reason to do so.
But that aside, it was a simple affection for the moment that caused it, although any biologist or the like would call it a fluke of nature. It was a dingo that spotted a numbat sunning itself, and for some reason... Decided that it liked the little marsupial. So, with a step step, he walked towards the little thing, tail wagging very quickly as a sign of joy.
Everything sees from a different point though, and that little numbat, well quite frankly, she wasn't stupid. She saw a dingo, and going off of instincts, she did what just about all smart animals that could be called a snack by larger predators would do. She ran as hard and fast as she could away from that dingo.
One thing sets off another in a domino effect, and her instinct to run triggers his to chase. And so, hearts pump the adrenaline to the muscles, giving them the extra energy the current situation calls for so they can fill their respective roles. All of both combining to make the chase thrilling. Well, for the dingo anyways, even if he isn't going to eat meat anymore, he still loved the chase. For the lil' numbat on the otherhand... It wasn't quite such a sublime experience.
So of course, due to Murphy's law, it only could go downhill from there. And so it did, starting with the entrance to a certain nearby hut that housed a certain medicine man. Or shaman if you will. Now, magic does have a habit of sometimes being there, and sometimes not, in some places and people it is, and others it's as lacking as Michael Jackson is of a nose.
Now, this place happened to be of the former, as was the native who lived there, so sadly for them, their chase wasn't likely to continue for long as they ran amuck in the little hut, knocking over this and shattering that. Oh no, all that that did was make the witness to the chaos very unhappy, and he wanted nothing more than for the two animals to be gone from his home... His world even.
Emotion brings power, and anger brings raw power, even if it is a bit uncontrolled, so the medicine man banished the two very angrily. Of course, neither of them knew that. All they knew is that both of them were suddenly in a much different place. Of course, the uncontrollable part of the shaman's magic also affected the pair.
In short, what started with an innocent enough quirk that would have been a horrible survival traight, ended with another two anthros added to Gaia's wonderful population.

There was flashing, streaching, a tinge of pain that was replaced by a strange tingling feeling. And ... thumbs. Aposable thumbs. Then blackness.
The fall into another dimension was a stressing thing, leading to the two to be temporally uncontious apon their "landing" of sorts. But after who knows how long, she stirred. Batting her eyes open to the bright sight of the sun... "Where...?" Her own voice stunned her silent... Was that.. human? Yes. Definatly what humans spoke. She blinked a few more times, pushing herself up to a sit. Immediatly she caught notice of her new form, with some conveniant scraps of leather for clothing... Wow... As she inspected herself, something yellow caught her attention. Her heart froze in her chest as she spotted the dingo... Though he wasn't quiet the big vicious creature he had been just moments before, due to the fact she was nearly his size now, but her instincts none the less started up the adrennalin and got her backing away.

He awoke from a happy dream of cuddling with the numbat he had seen earlier peacefully by stretching as most animals do when they first awake, paws stretched out far in front of him. Of course, it was this that brought his own realization that something was out of wack instead of a voice. He had hands, not his feet, but hands, five fingered, clawed, hands. "What...?"
On the split side, hearing a voice shocked him out of that even more. That wasn't his bark, not how he sounded. Yet, it held a hint of him he couldn't deny. So, mind absolutely confused, he sat up and surveyed himself. He wasn't anything like before, nor was he used to having well... Anything covered, so he prodded his newfound loincloth as well, ears cocked slightly.
He would have continued to survey his new body very curiously if he hadn't still the nose of a dingo, and caught instead the scent of dinner. Or so he would have thought if this had happened a day before. So it wasn't dinner that was on his mind as his head turned to follow the scent, but rather his crush on a certain numbat he had just seen yesterday.

Her ears twitched as he moved, swivling this way and that as her breathing incresed. Her nose going wild trying to smell the new surroundings along with figure out jsut what this dingo was doing... He wasn't interested in her it seemed--
Nope. Spoke, or thought, too soon. The new area, and new legs, made for no good means of escape. And as she fumbled to get to her paws, maling it then promptly falling, she was left defencless against the approachign dingo. Without any options left, she simply shut her eyes, curled up tight, and waited for death.

His mind at the moment had one track, and so with his tail starting to wag happilly again, he started towards her. Or rather, he tried to, and ended up sprawled onto the ground. His hind legs were a lot longer than they used to be, so it seemed walking like he used to was out.
Next he tried finding a good balance and again... he found it best to sit or lay down, and to move forward? Lay on you belly and crawl. So, with a whine, he did just that and started towards the numbat.

As he reached her, she tried to curl tighter. Ears lowering against her head... Everything was new and confusing, especially her newfound body... There was something wrong with her chest too, though she couldn't quite figure out what those were... She wasn't exactly thinking about that now, as she expected sharp dingo teeth to be tearing into her right about now.
When they didn't, she cracked an eye open, peering over her arms at the male creature. "Don eat me, A'ight? M' not tha' good yanno?" She whined, shutting an eye.

To be honest, he didn't expect her to speak anymore than anything. He had forgotten even he could in his trying to reach her, so when she did, his ears perked to catch every word of it. He understood. That was the main reason he froze where he was, he understood it, and he had no clue why. In face, now that he thought on it, there was quite a bit in general that wasn't at all how it was before, and he hadn't the slightest clue why.
But he shook that off with the singlemindedness that had kept him from being overcome with wonder at all this new stuff as he answered her, just filing it in his mind that... It fit now. "Eh? Eat 'ou? Why would ah do thet?"

Her eye poped back open in confusion.. He wasn't going to eat her? Maybe it was just a trick... But... If it was, then he could have just eaten her by now. So he must be telling the truth.
Slowly, uncurling, pushing herself up with her forepaws... or atleast what used to be them. Her ears twitched, as she stared at the Dingo in disbeleif. " 'Cause... 'Ats what yeh do." She wasn't sure.. but.. It just was. Just like the air was there, Dingos just.. ate numbats. Simple as that.

His head tilted in response to that as he lay on his stomach. It was what he did? Well, he had eaten a lot of little things... Even a kangaroo when he was younger, and that had been a very good meal that he still dreamed about on occasion. But right now, he really didn't see him eating numbats as anything that worked.
"If I was gonna eat 'ou, ah woulda by naew" he answered with a nod, moving his new arms to so he could rest his head on them. Of course, on the split side, it gave him a good view of his crush, so his tail still wagged furiously all the while.

"Ah guess..." She pondered over this interesting fact for a moment, before getting distracted with the difficult task of sitting. She managed something like it, a leg on the side of each arm. Though whatever the hell was on her chest was definatly interfeiring with this... It was working for now. "Why arn't yeh?" she finally questioned, planning next to ask what the hell happend...but first, she had to make sure he wasn't going to eat her.

"Ah like you!" Answered the dingo happilly, his tail wagging furiously all the while.
Watching her difficulty sitting up though, he thought for a moment before trying it himself. Of course, he didn't find it half as effective as laying down, so he quickly went back to doing that. 'sides, the ground was more comfortable than sitting like she was.

"Like?" She echoed, tilting her head to the side. For a second, she thought he had meant like liked.. But nooo. That couldn't be.. he was a different species... Right? Well. She wasn't too sure what they were now. Speaking of which... "Wha' happen' to us anyways?"

He nodded happilly at her echo, tail slowing a little bit. All that wagging can get tiring after all. What happened to them though... Now that, he hadn't a clue about, so he shrugged. "Dinno. Last ah 'member was chasin' you." Of course, at the remembrance of the chase, his tail started wagging yet again at fullspeed, fatigue forgotten. "It was a right good 'ole chase too! Lotsa weavin' an' bobbin'! Think ah hit meh melon at the end tho'...."

Why'd he like.. her? Of all things... Though she couldn't say the thought didn't intrigue her. It was every animals dream to grow up, find a mate, and settle down... Even if this was an odd case of such a thing. And now that her fear had subsided, she seemed much more.. perky. Leaning foreward, only to offbalance her sitting position and fall foreward and to the side, letting out a light chirp.
Chasing... Blech. She didn't like chasing... But then there was somethign else, something yelling.. Then colors... But what was before.. She frowned, shifting her position to find something more comfortable. "A human!" SHe nodded firmly upon remembering the last thing she'd seen before.. here. Wherever here was.

He couldn't help but laugh a little at her fall, nodding as he rolled onto his side. "Layin's easier." he advised simply.
Of course, at the comment about a human, he gave her a puzzled look. Weren't they humanish now? They were both very, very different from how they were before, and the only thing he knew that was similar was... Well, humans of course! But as for the chase, towards the end it really was rather fuzzy. It seemed to get darker then 'fore he couldn't remember anything, but other than that, there weren't really any details. "Mebbe... Haew d'they stand? Humans anyhaew. We seem to be like 'em naew."
