Species: 1/4 some unknown species of dragon, 3/4 human, and a dash of bluejay and emerald
Personality: Generally good-natured and helpful, Yana likes people and interacting. She is always curious and enjoys investigating everything, sometime to her detriment. She does have a rather bad temper and can be aggressive when riled, though it usually takes a very skilled person to get her so angered. She loves children and loves to help out children like herself, who are struggling with disabilities of sorts.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue w/ Green Flecks (R) and Blue (L)
Skin Color: Caucasian
Unusual Features: Legally deaf and pointed ears.
Distinguishing Markings: Blue-green chest fluff, black dragon tail with green spikes, black dragon wing with green membrane and claw (L), and a blue-green feathered wing (R).
Pets/Companions:
Hiroko: Hiroko is a green wolfish dog who acts as Yana's ears. She is very eager to please and loves to play.
Isis: Isis is an Egyptian Mau cat with a bit of mystery surrounding her. She seems to be gods-sent after a fashion, bearing a few rather unusual talents, including being able to call up powerful ultraviolet light and manifesting a great deal of fertility boosting capacities. She is also very knowledgeable, though her rather abrupt and snarly attitude makes her largely unpopular.
Job/Occupation: Tutor/helper for deaf, mute, and learning-disabled children, a few days a week after school.
Favorite School Subjects: English and history.
Hobbies: The idea of studying artifacts from the past fascinates her. She enjoys reading and learning about long-lost cultures and loves digging up things in her backyard. Even strange-looking rocks are fascinating to her.

Race: Human
Appearance: Amyla Edana Raikes is far shorter than Aiodhan, about 5'4". She has light brown hair that reaches the middle of her back or so. Her eyes are blue, and her skin is generally fair. She can normally be seen wandering around in her favorite jeans and hiking boots as she loves casual and comfortable. She's often wearing t-shirts if she can get away with it, though her attire changes to a more formal one when she's on the job.
History: Amyla has always been a friendly and inquisitive human being, though her curiousity is occasionally interpreted as nosiness. An overachiever and control freak, she had her entire life planned out by the time she reached twelve years old... from her high school classes, to college choice and schedule, to medical school, and her career thereafter. She planned to be married by twenty-six and have children by age twenty-eight. Needless to say, that didn't quite happen. She lived in her inherited home near Bass'ken Lake, keeping herself happy through her work at the Gaia Hospital's emergency room and through caring for her many pets and wards, ranging from the green Ancient called Karael to her three Equus companions and many more. Through it all, she longed for some human company and eventually found her soulmate in Aiodhan, the human-dragon hybrid that accidentally crashlanded in her backyard. It wasn't love at first sight, but they grew on each other. Now they are essentially inseparable, and Amyla is happy with the situation.

The Father  Name: Aiodhan Quincy Layden
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Race: Half human, half some unknown sort of dragon
History: Aiodhan was always an arrogant man. He was young, headstrong, impetuous, and prone to being a bit of a womanizer. He dreamed of travelling the universe and every world, country, city, or woman's bed within, writing all the while of his adventures. He was, and still is, quite an eloquent man, something that he was very proud of. When he was nineteen, though, disaster struck, and he was diagnosed with AML, a form of leukemia. Chemotherapy was ineffective in helping him; he needed a bone marrow transplant. He went to the Gaia Cancer Treatment Center for the transplant, but during the procedure, a mix-up resulted in his reception of the wrong bone marrow. A large sample of draconic marrow had been accidentally slipped amongst the other vials and was improperly labelled. Aiodhan's body didn't like the invading DNA. He spent two years in constant agony as the two separate kinds of DNA warred for control of his body. In the end, both sets of strands split apart and came back together in a combined mutation. The result was a half-human, half-dragon body that Aiodhan both loved and loathed, though more the latter. He went into seclusion for seven years, trying to shut the world out as he continued his writing and published a few books, never exercising his new wings or tail and rarely stepping out of the house. In that time, his younger brother developed and died from the same form of leukemia, and Aiodhan couldn't bear living with the knowledge that his bone marrow could have saved his brother if it weren't for the draconic half of his new DNA. Finally, he couldn't stand it anymore and flew up into a storm and attempted to kill himself by being struck by lightning, frustrated that killing himself with alcohol poisoning wasn't working quickly enough. He nearly succeeded in killing himself as his flying skills were so poor. Instead of getting struck by lightning, he crashed in Amyla's backyard where several of her pets found him and dragged him back to the house. Amyla warily nursed him back to health, though she and her pets were made nervous by his savage, sarcastic, and selfish nature. Snooping around in Amyla's room while she was at work led him to finding and reading her diary. After he realized how poorly he'd been acting to the odd "family" who'd shown him nothing but kindness, his attitude improved. Amyla didn't buy his new act, and it wasn't until they spent one long, stormy night before the fireplace, talking until the storm broke, that she finally warmed up to the hybrid. Though he is much more humble and generous than before, Aiodhan retains much of his snappish arrogance, though he knows to curb it around his mate, as he mentally refers to Amyla. He dropped his womanizing ways and now hero-worships the woman who saved his life and, he believes, his heart and soul. He too is eager for children, though he fears for Amyla's health if she should have to carry children who were hybrids like himself.
Unique Traits: He recently discovered a knack for breathing fire that rather disturbs Amyla.... for obvious reasons.

Other, Various Family Members Stephen Caleb Layden
Amyla and Aiodhan's biological son and the only male child in the house. He is part dragon, part white tiger, and mostly human. He has tiger ears, dragon wings, a tiger tail, messy brown hair, and big, big blue eyes. He likes to chew, bite, and play with Kayce. Beware his few sharp teeth!
Nieva
An adult monoceros, or unicorn anthro, that Amyla adopted as a baby. She is about four feet tall with an anthro equine body covered in dark brown hair, her tuft-tipped tail and extremities shading to a darker brown, almost black hue. The hair on her head is long and darker brown as well, and her eyes and the single horn protruding from her head are blue. She is quiet, patient, and very sweet-natured.
Kayce
A fae child that is Amyla's ward, part of Project 030. She is fairly aloof towards most members of the family, though she very much likes Kari and Caleb. She is learning swordsmanship and is a talented athlete. She is blue-eyed, brown-haired, and fairly slender and graceful, though she packs a punch when she hits.
Erin
A mysterious toddler that showed up on Amyla and Aiodhan's doorstep. She is blonde-haired, brown-eyed, and fluffy-tailed. She is quite the sadistic little monster, and while she can be superficially nice and sweet and sociable, her innocent face hides a perverted meanness, a sick pleasure in other's pain. She is often caught pulling wings off flies and should be avoided at all costs.
Dageus
Dageus is a wolverine anthro that Aiodhan adopted from the Fourth Wall Center. He is a child and very wild, loving to wrestle with trees and play with his toy cars. He is also a bit on the dramatic side, having a rather odd obsession with Shakespeare's plays. Let's just hope he avoids the poetry.
Tanith
Tanith was born in war-torn country far, far away. After a brief portal trip, she was adopted into Amyla and Aiodhan's family. She is a very small, red-haired ten-year-old with a nasty temper and nightmare-ridden sleep cycles. Kari gets along with her well, but Evie tends to avoid her.
Lex and Donnie
Lex and Donnie are the youngest children in the giant family, the recently-born twin daughters of Amyla and Aiodhan, with meerkat and morrigan crow added into the already-strange DNA mix. They are both mildly high maintenance and very active. Lex is prone to making noise whilst Donnie likes to hoard shinies.
Kari
Kari is the oldest child in the family and is an Ancient, a humanized version of a hellhound. She is exceedingly intelligent if not all that social. She has one child, Evie, and is pregnant with the second by her fiance, Jonas.
Evie
Evie is Kari's child. She is rather hyper and has just started school. She enjoys reading, running around, wrestling with her hippogriff friend Hedwig, and learning about magic, even if she has no magical talent.

Friends Mistalina, Nymue, and Shidiomi
Yana met Mistalina and Shidiomi at a craft session when she was a toddler. She later met Mistalina and Nymue in the clinic lobby, as a child.
Gregory and Richard Mason
She met the boys during a babysitting sessions when she was a toddler, when her mother went out and left her in their care. She and Gregory are having some... ehhh, personality conflicts of epic proportions. Hopefully, they work things out; they used to be very close. She and Richard, on the other hand, are now getting along quite well.
Hae
She met Hae at the skating rink when she was a child. They had some communication difficulties, but he interested her.
Haydn
Yana met Haydn... somewhere. Despite the fact that he's an adult, she enjoys his presence a great deal, finding that he is more honest and forthright than most grown-ups.
Lavanya and Stephen
Yana met Anya and Stephen at the park, and they went shiny-hunting! Even though both unikids are a little... strange, Yana seems to like them well enough. They are friendly, and they like shinies, which makes them good friends.
