I have an idea, I credit some one on a different forum (Bayveiwsax) who started it there, it was a succes... Here's the idea. Each month we have a new song to play and record. We post a link of the final version, or any version and get feedback from our peers. So for example, let's say that this month's song was Solitude, by Duke Ellington. In this spot, I would put the song of the month. And possibly and backing for people who couldn't get one. Most of the songs would be readily available in Aebersolds and Fake books. Example- Solitude, by Duke Elington
Is the song of the month.

MHHornfreak I like it! Will there be voting system or something? Well... I was thinking, for the pick for SOTM (Song Of The Month), after we had some suggestions tossed around, I could put a poll for next SOTM. But for the feed back on our music, would be no voting system. Just critique... So, it would be like... I like the articulation on the head, it was real true to the original recording. You have a lot of good ideas, now all you need to do is get them in tempo. Might I suggest using a metronome while you practice. Also, some of your long tones waivered on the pitch. So, it would be a form of constructive critisizm.

this is a great idea. it should be a place where everybody votes for the song they think is deserving of the title.

Well, that is what the pole will be for. 7 or 8 or so songs. Four or five days to vote. The winner of the contest is the SOTM. Recordings will be posted here as well as critiques. And, heck, if you have a song you just want commets on, put it on, we can do that to!

I like the Aebersold books, so if you play more than one instrument you can show your stuff with the different instruments and not have to worry about transposition.

Here's an idea-- give people a list of songs to choose from. I know I won't always be able to find the specific song of the month, so if you give people a choice of songs from a list, you'll probably have better involvement.
