Whip It Out!

PostPosted: Sun Sep 19, 2004 3:53 pm

Death. Why does it have to hurt so bad to lose someone *in my case, something* that you love? My kitten would be 8 weeks old today, but he got sick yesterday, and this morning I asked where he was, and my dad told me he didn't make it through the night, that he passed away just after I went to bed. I am crying so hard right now....I don't know what to do. I know that I just lost a kitten, but some people have lost parents, siblings, other family, and friends. But it still hurts so bad....

It's perfectly normal to be upset when something/one no matter what it is dies. My husband and I cried like babies when we had to put one of our ferrets to sleep. It's ok to be sad, sweetie.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Loss is always hard no matter who or what it is, and it's even worse if it is something like a kitten that is young. I'm so sorry for you, but if you need to talk, I'm always here. *gives you a big hug* Try to be strong...and come to me if you need a little extra strength.

I know how you feel.
I once had 15 cats here i think it was 10 years ago or so and they all died within a week.
First 5 died cause they were crossing the road and a car hit them all, then 4 died cause a male cat came here and killed them then the other 6 dissappeared over the week. I never found out what happened to them.
Then just this past winter a mother cat came here and had kittens here and now we got like 5 kittens here. Course now we don't have the means to take care of them and now I hope we can find a place for them so they don't get put to sleep.

Some people get really attached to their pets. I used to be until my father did something he shouldn't have done to one of my rabbits *It's rather gross and I get upset just thinking about it, so I'd rather not go into what happened...but I don't hold it against my father, he had a hard life and what happened to him when he was younger ******** up his better judgment, but that's a whole other story...* and from that point on I swore that I didn't want to risk getting hurt again and for the LONGEST time I forbid my hubby from bringing an animal into our home...now we have fishies, a degu and a kitten a few days ago...I figure that my girls should have the pleasure of having an animal and that I need to learn to love again.

I've lost more than enough people in my life...and I'm still trying to deal with the loss of my cousin this past March. Sometimes the mourning period is long, sometimes it is on again/off again...sometimes you just shut off the pain and try to pretend that you are fine...but I can tell you from eperience that it's better to openly cry then bottle it in.

I had a ferret too, and my father had to go and put him down because he had a cancerous tumor in his stomach...and I bawled for the whole day.

*hugs TenshiDarkAngel gently and gives her a teddybear* Although your l'il kitty left before he had a chance go grow, he was fortunate enough to enter and leave this world being loved and knowing what it was like to be loved heart
