(This is a place for general rp for all dustlings. whee )

The building is a friendly two storey brick monstrosity, its firm exterior softened by spiraling green vines and a coat of light blue paint that is slowly chipping from wear and tear. A garden full of herbs and flowers just barely resisting crawling up the sides of the house, flourishing instead around it. There is a sign, obviously painted by hand with small, possibly intentional three-toed prints in one corner, reads Dustling Utopia. Hardly visible beneath this pronouncement is still more wording, stating All Dustlings and their Owners are Welcome.

The door to the building is glass and depicts a sloppily drawn dustling crowing over a ball it has captured from its playmates. The interior of the house is clean and smells pleasantly of fresh coffee and animals. The hall that leads to the first room is carpeted with dark floral patterns that have faded somewhat over the years.

The first room on the left is the reception room where new dustlings are introduced to their fellows. It is a small, rectangular room with a rocking chair and a mostly open floor.

Continuing down the hall, there is a tiny bathroom on the right but the real eye-catcher is the wide open area front and center where a few walls have been knocked down to make room. There are a variety of toys including rubber balls, stuffed animals and plastic castle playhouses that are large enough for even the adults to enjoy. A line of windows allows light in, but due to the odd shape of the room, a few places are still in shadow for those Dusts that prefer the dark.

A spiral staircase in the corner of the room leads up to an attic that is also a play area. Sunlight filters through skylights and falls upon more colorful contraptions, suitable to delight even the older Dusts.

( I will add more as soon as I think of it, for now all owners and dustlings can just play. Please don't be shy!) heart

Freya touched her nose to a ball curiously, wondering what all the fuss was about. Sure, it was spherical and rolled around at the slightest inclination, but did that make it special? Her owner was sort of spherical, and she always rolled around in some sort of happy fit. Frey supposed Ourania was fun enough... but bouncy balls were just boring.

((How lovely. ^ ^))

Vestakia sauntered into the 'Utopia, obviously bored of her things at home. She had a note strapped to her neck with permission to play there, so she had no reason not to parade right into the building and act as though she was the oldest, most important thing there.

Vestakia looked around for the receptionist, her tail flicking about.

(*Glomps FelineOddity* Yay! I'm glad you like it. heart )

The elderly receptionist stared down at the adult Dust from her position behind the counter before smiling and coming around to examine her. "My, aren't you a pretty girl?" she cooed, taking in the silky golden and black splotched mane. "What's that you have there?"

The older woman gently gripped the note from the collar and read it, her eyes crinkling with concentration. After a few moments she nodded and carefully tucked it into her apron pocket. "Vestakia, is it? Come along dearie, I'll introduce you to the rest of the staff as well as a fellow playmate who just arrived yesterday. We haven't really picked up as of yet, but we're hopeful that we will... Oh-"

The woman held her hand out to the female Dust and smiled in greeting. "How rude of me, my name is Bri and I run this Utopia. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

Vestakia, rather surprised by the deference but then returning quickly to her high-and-mighty attitude, nodded with a smirk and placed her talon-like claws in the old woman's palm, attempting to move it up and down. She had seen Feline do it plenty of times with colleagues and other scientists, so she was quite used to it. With a high-pitched squeal, she dashed ahead of the receptionist, eager to play.

Bri chuckled and lengthened her strides to keep up with the female Dust. When they arrived at the introduction room where the staff had gathered upon hearing the door open.

"Hello everyone." Bri greeted, taking a seat on the nearby rocking chair. "This is Vestakia, she'll be our new charge from now on. Vestakia, these are the the people you will come to know quite well." Bri looked around at the silent faces and snapped her fingers. "Come along now, if I sit too long I won't be able to get back up by myself."

A girl with blonde hair stepped forward, giving a short wave to the adult Dust. She wore a pale pink dress and her hair was up in pig-tails. "I'm Hannelore and I'm the activities consultant, if you want to institute any new games, I'm the one to talk to."

She stepped back and let the second person, a man with what looked to be a half-grown moustache, ill-placed on his youthful face, attired entirely in white. "I'm Cameron and I'm the chef for Utopia, if you require any specific foods tell me and I'll cook them up for you."

The final individual to introduce herself was a little pink dustling, still very small and uncertain. "That's Freya." Bri said for the tiny creature. "She lives with a woman named Ourania. She'll be your sole playmate for a while, at least until this place catches on."

Vestakia nodded understandingly as each person introduced him/herself. She made short, low barks as if she were trying to speak, trying to thank them for explaining everything to her. She looked down and lowered her gaze upon the pink dust named Freya.

She noticed the peculiar winged dustpan and a bit of a shiver ran through her spine. She knew at once it was one of Auriel's children, and she suddenly didn't feel so welcomed.

Bri noticed the tension in Vestakia's back and put a hand to her chin in consideration. Hannelore and Cameron retreated back to their places in the house, one creating new and interesting activities while the other went to cook up a storm: a new guest meant a fabulous banquet.

Freya sat, staring up at the golden Dust and wondering why she suddenly looked so uncomfortable. She gave a small chirp of question, tail giving the faintest of wags to show she was friendly.

Vestakia eyed the little bugger cautiously, and looked about. She felt a pang of fear, wondering if Auriel was anywhere near her, but she wasn't. With an audible sigh, Vestakia plopped down on her stomach, a foot away from the dustling baby, and watched it with amusement. "A fine thing you are," she muttered to it in a raspy voice.

Freya looked at the golden female, brow furrowing with confusion. She was getting the distinct impression that this Vestakia disliked her in some fashion, or at least disliked something about her. It was hard to tell if her words were tinged with sarcasm or not.

The little pink dustling laid down as well, curling her tail around her. "Are you angry with me?" she asked quietly, determined to understand why Vestakia seemed so alert in her presence.

With a roll of her eyes, and the reassurance Auriel wasn't there, Vestakia shrugged and replied simply, "No. Not you." She knew it wasn't smart to make enemies with winged Dustlings, especially ones with angelic mothers. "Just... eh, having a bad day," she murmured, and lowered her head onto her paws. It was a total lie; she had been having a glorious day until she was humbled by the memory of the night when Auriel had nearly chased her down and killed her.

Freya, unaware of Vestakia's conflict and seeing nothing amiss, carefully jumped onto the golden dust's back. "Do you want to play?" she asked, pawing with interest at the sprial of one of the adult's horns. "That might make your day better."

(*Tries to think of how to include Odin when he grows* Hmm...)

Vestakia's back slinked downward as the little baby jumped on it, but she didn't buck her off. She looked annoyed, but it passed. "Ah.. I don't know. I'm a bit too old to 'play'," she mumbled, which was a lie-- she had been playing with a ball of yarn just this morning. "Do any adults ever come in this place?" she asked, suddenly feeling quite childish in a room full of toys and a baby on her back.

Freya, a little disappointed but still willing to be helpful, thought for a moment. "I haven't seen any other adults around except for you." she concluded, settling down into the other dust's fur. "I haven't seen any others at all, really, except for Odin, but he hasn't even grown up yet..."

(Wanted to put "evolved" instead of grown up but I figured that was too grown up even for my tiny dust... sweatdrop )

Ana walks in upset. Her face is red and her eyes all puffy, and you can tell she hasn't had a good sleep. Clutching a pile of books, she is stumbling in. "I've been trying to make him go through stages and breed more," She explained, pointing at Soran (the little dustpan in my sig). "Nothing worked!" She collapsed onto the floor, spilling the books around her. She fell back. "I think I'm going to faint!"

((i'm not that good at rping yet so if i posted wrong tell me to fix it! biggrin )
