sorry for whatever thread this will push into page 2 but i thought u might like th hear about this. while browsing on Scifi.com i came across this artical about avp2 that you might find interesting. ill reproduce it below.
the artical read: Alien Vs. Predator II Is A Go

The sequel to Alien vs. Predator is happening and will most likely center on a battle in our world, 20th Century Fox Film Co-Chairman Tom Rothman told SCI FI Wire at the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles.

"We will do another one of those for sure. It was a big success," Rothman said in an interview before he received a Life Career Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

"In the new Alien vs. Predator they will finally actually really come to our world," said Rothman. The previous Alien and Predator movies took place in the future, and Alien vs. Predator took place in a remote Antarctic location, though in modern times. The new film could bridge the gap between all the movies and the two horror film franchises, Rothman said.

"It's likely that we will bridge the gap, and the beginning of that will be setting it in our contemporary universe," said Rothman. He laughed when the characters were likened to terrorists. "They were always terrorists, yes, but only metaphorically," he said.

I dont know if making anothe one will be good idea. It might be good but it might be created for more money. The first was good but very incorrect. But it would be cool seeing a bridge between the future and the present though.

i think people might not see it, the first AvP wasnt that good.

I can honestly say that now that I've seen the original AvP and gotten the details about it, it simply wouldn;t be worth watching again... It wasn't that great of a movie to me, but it still managed to sell the most tickets out of the movies that were out while it was playing in theaters according to the news, so a sequal just might attract more viewers anyway.

Personally, I don't understand what that guy meant... An AvP CAN'T happen on our world out in the open unless it happens long after Alien Resurrection, otherwise it would make no sense and contredict the entire Alien series since they weren't known of by humans and until Resurrection, they only appeared in the situations where Ripley was involved. And does anybody remember what the Earth was like in the end of Resurrection? Beautiful from afar, but where they landed it looked like a post apocolyptic wasteland. Also, we all know what will be the ending for an AvP 2 if it's happening on Earth... "Yay! Humans and predators teamed up and whiped out the hive! Now, rather than hunt the humans, the preds are our pals and are just gonna leave!"

Don't get me wrong here, I really don't care which side "wins" in an AvP movie as long as both sides are represented properly and pure BS moves aren't pulled, but considering how in the end of the first AvP movie despite the fact that everybody taking part died except Lex in the end a lot of people considered preds the winners, I'd like to see the xenos at least seem to have the upper hand in the end of an AvP2... Maybe make it into a prequal of Alien5 if they plan to have Alien5 happen on Earth. (I still say I'd love to see the novel Earth Hive made into a movie. >_O)

Personally I considered AvP's ending to be pretty much a draw between the Preds and the Aliens. When you think about it Scar may have killed off most of the Aliens but the Queen killed him before the tank dragged her off into the ocean. It didn't actually show her dying and it had already been proven earlier in the movie that the Queen could survive being frozen. She may have survived.

The only real winners were the humans...as usual.

As for the next AvP having them come to our world, well I like the concept but I have to agree with Irving. I don't think they could do it without messing up the timeline of the other movies badly.

Well the queen could drown. I don't if this sounds weird but I'd like to see a AVP movie with no humans. Just pure pred/alien a** kicking action.

I don't see how they can follow up AVP, it wasn't really a story you can follow. Maybe they should just do a movie completely ignoring the events of the first film. And there should be a massive battle between Aliens and Predators, the ultimate hunt...

eh who knows....personaly i think that if its a bad idea, the last movie was terible, but hey im just the messenger here to warn you that its going to happen (weather its a good or a bad thing has yet to be determend)

Well, the only thing you can connect is the predalien at the end. But I would like to see what happens to Weyland's company and how it becomes more powerful.

theres only one problem, its rare for a pred to be a host, since they always self explode when they feel trapped, aliens ussually use humans or some other sort of large mamal.

A Pred can only self explode when it feels threatened. Just like in AvP and even in Alien, when the Facehugger latches on you've got no control and no consciousness as to what's happening. It's one thing to be cornered by a group of Xenos or heavily armed Marines, its another to be wandering through a hive and WHAM, he's hugged.

So I think Preds could become viable hosts so long as they get caught preoccupied with something else, much like Scar in AvP.

I dont think an AVP film with no humans would work, you need some humans involved purely to explain things. i think that the humans should feature less though, the film is called alien vs predator and thts who should be the stars.
