((I shall be rping Cole at 50%))
It was some-what stormy out, the gray clouds mixing with the darkening sky. To Colby Hughes it was perfection at its pinnacle, the way the sky met the sea, the contrasts, and the swirling of the ocean! Cole had to contain the small sigh at the sight, it was beautiful.
The sketchpad was open on his lap, his pencil moving about fluidly, all but gliding across the paper. Brown and white fur covered his body, leaving on the places at his wrists bare. His face had become elongated, his eyes larger than normal. Small ears were perched precariously upon his skull, and a long bushy tail protruded from his rear, curling around his leg.
It was the perfect day to sketch.

Crevan couldn't help but chuckle at his little companion. Leil was glad to be out and about again, and the Fennec ran down the path to the beach ahead of him, yipping out from his excitement. But upon noticing the other that sat by the ocean, Crevan felt a heavy knot of anxiety forming in his stomache.
The Fennec yipped excitely and raced over to Colby, his tail wagging as the cat-size fox raced into the surf into front of the boy.
The wolf-man felt his ears droop slightly, but he took a deep breath and finished the walk out to the beach.
"Hope he didn't interrupt you," he offered, giving the other an apologetic smile as he sat down in the sand, letting his feet hang in the water. The breeze felt refreshing, and it was nice to get out despite the weather. In fact, he liked it. The wind carried the scent of rain, something he'd never quite noticed before. And it was the perfect temperature for him. He didn't have to wear clothes to stay warm, and he wasn't panting from the heat either.

Cole frowned pretending not to hear the man at first, scribbling a few things on his paper. When he was satisfied he looked up and grineed. "Its not a problem man...You don't think you could get your fox to stay right there could ya?" He laughed his gaze flickering to the small creature, taking in its every angle before sketching it off to the side, later to be placed into the original sketch.
Perhaps he hadn't truly noticed Crevan at first because he did a double take dropping his pencil onto the paper. "Ah, another victim of the good doctor. Whatcha turning into?"

Crevan grinned and made a small hand signal, which Leil obeyed happily. The wolf-man made a mental note to give him a nice treat later. At the question posed to him, Crevan gave a somewhat dark, wolfish grin.
"Maned Wolf," he answered, chuckling to himself. "Which is somewhat ironic in two different ways. Before I came here, I wrote lycanthrope horror. Basically werewolf stories. Now I'm living out what I wrote. The second way is the fact that the Maned Wolf isn't even a true wolf. It's a canid, but it's more closely related to foxes, although it isn't a fox either."
He paused to let the information sink in, and at the same time he mentally chastised himself. That was probably more information than he needed to share. He really needed to control that.
"What about you?"

"A Maned Wolf huh? I used to see those in the zoo all the time." He looked up and shot the man a large grin as his dog stilled. "Thank you! She makes the perfect art subject ya know...To bad we're here, artists would really love the colors of her coat."
A small grimace made its way across Cole's face. "A Pine Martin...Martes Americana, to be exact...I'm supposed to be shirking." And with a short look of dismay he added, "And I think I am!"

"I think I'm getting taller. Last time I checked, I was about 5'8"... I was 5'5" before I got here," Crevan said, laughing lightly and scratching at the back of his head. "And, Leil's male. Finding a good Fennec breeder online wasn't easy, but he's got the best pedigree available. Really shows in his coat too."
Leil yipped lightly after his master's statement, almost as if he was agreeing with the Wiccan.

"Sorry Fellow!" He apologized to the little Fennec fox, pulling a dog treat from his shorts he offered it to the fox. "My sis has a dog." He explained twisting his gaze back to Bryce.
He scowled somewhat darkly, "I wasn't aware that people actually participated in the act of buying and selling wild animals." He shrugged, perhaps he had just never thought to look in the right places.

"Techniqually, Leil isn't wild. Fennecs are sometimes kept as exotic pets, and Leil was born to a couple that pretty well known for the Fennecs they breed," Crevan explained, grinning as the fox happily took the treat from Colby, chewing on it contently. "Since he was raised by humans, he doesn't really have the skills needed to survive in the wild."

He nodded and shrugged a little. "You are going to have to let me take a few pictures of him...If you don't mind of course, he'd be the perfect specimen for my minitures piece."
"Oh excuse me, I don't think we've propperly met." He got to his feet and extended a hand towards him. "My names Colby Hughes. But you can call me Cole. Most everyone does."

"Crevan Lee Moore," he offered, grinning and giving Cole a firm handshake. "And you're welcome to photograph Leil any chance you get. He loves attention."
Crevan let his eyes wander back to Leil as the Fennec began playing in the surf again, and it wasn't long before his enthusiasm scared a crab from its hiding place in the sand. Leil instantly began to chase the little crustacean, poking at it with his paw before hopping out of reach. Snapping his jaws towards it...

"Nice to meet cha Crevan. Come have a seat, the sand's pretty warm despite the weather." He patted the ground next to him and reclined backwards. "Wonder what kind of storm it will be. Nothing I like better than sitting out in the rain of course. What about you?"

Crevan grinned and happily sat down in the sand, stretching his legs until his feet dangled in the water. He tilted his head upward lightly, inhaling the strong scent of rain that the wind carried.
"Personally, I love rain. But it's better when you're by a body of fresh water," he said lightly, golden eyes shifting to glance towards Cole.

"Oh no doubt of it! This is probably the first time I've been anywhere near the water on a rainy day. Colorado was sort of landlocked." He gave a happy sigh and drew his knees to his chest, resting his elongated head upon it. "So tell me about yourself...Before you got stuck here I mean."

"Well, there wasn't really that much to my life... I was a newspaper editor by day, and an author in my free time. I used a lot of my free time to visit the local zoo, mostly to study animals. I was lucky enough to be good friends with one of the keepers, so I was pretty close to a lot of the safer animals," Crevan said, chuckling to himself. "My friend wouldn't let me handle any animals that were potentially dangerous."

"Well that's a shame. I have always wanted to see a Lion up close. I don't expect you got to do that did ya?" Genuinely interested he leaned foreword studying Bryce for the first time, without the obscured vision of an artist. "Did you have much published then?"
