((Heh yeah the title's gay, but like it says this rp is open to anyone who wishes to join. Cole has just arrived on the island, and has absolutly no inkling to what is going on.))
Colby Hughes could hardly contain his excitement as he glanced about his duplex. Everything he needed was right here. Paintbrushes, charcoal, pencils, everything. He scrutinized each object as he placed it into an army green canvas bag, his royal blue eyes checking for flaws and imperfections in the equiptment.
Finally satisified the twenty-two year old straightened up. He slung the canvas bag over his arm and exited his Duplex. Humming at the top of his lungs, a word or two of some random song punctuating the humming, he descended the stairs and headed towards the beach. Dog Tags bounced against his chest, as he broke into a slow trot, his barefeet sinking slightly in the sand. He was wearing his signature grey shirt this morning, the back covered with his art symbol, a bald Eagle holding a paintbrush, and faded jeans.
It was the perfect day to draw on inspiration. He could just feel it.

((Kaelyn is also still completely human at this time, she arrived on the island a few days before but has not met anyone because her allergies were keeping her in her duplex))
For the first time in days Kaelyn had ventured out of her duplex. She was still a bit stuffy and lightheaded from allergies but she figured that some fresh air would do her good. Once she got over her attack, surely she would be able to start helping the under-developed citizens of this island understand technology ((the reason Kaelyn is on the island)). Despite the tropical heat Kaelyn was wearing her usual 'uniform' of jeans and a baggy t-shirt. She stood, looking over what she could see and grimacing. The medical facility was nice, as were the duplexes for the volunteers, but where were the others?
With a slight tug on the chain she wore on her left ear (a nervous habit) she looked around and saw someone approaching. Was he another of the volunteers?
"Oy!" she called out to the jogging man, her voice souding tired like the woman was. She wondered how long he had been volunteering here and what he did.

"Believe me I've been kicked out of enough of them...." Colby whirled around quickly, too quickly, as he stummbled foreword. Tripping over his own feet, he went tumbling towards the woman, landing with a loud "Oomf", right at her feet. Glancing up at her he managed a weak smile. "Oye to you too."

An eyebrow raised and the woman eyed the man that had fallen at her feet. "You okay?" she held out a hand to him. "Its not often a guy falls at my feet before we've even met." She was making a joke but not many people understood her sense of humor and she laughed lightly. She didn't want this conversation to be awkward.

Not in the least phased, Cole took her hand and hoisted himself up. "Ah come on now, I'll bet they're just throwing themselves at you're feet...And I'm obviously just another pathetic suitor." He was a natural born flirt, things tended to pop out of his mouth before he had even wrapped his head around them, and this happened to be one of those times.
"The name's Cole by the way." He added shaking the hand he was currently holding.

A delighted smile played at the corners of her mouth. She liked Cole already. "Well the don't necessarily throw themselves at my feet. They get thrown there." Mostly they were the boyfriends that tried to grab her breasts without permission. Back on the mainland Kaelyn had a lot of friends, some were large males. If any of them saw someone picking on Kaelyn they would threaten them and sometimes they would throw them. "Not that any of that would happen here. I'm Kaelyn Murassi, self proclaimed computer geek." She shook his hand back before letting go.

Cole let out a hearty chuckle, "Well then its a good thing that I simply fell then, huh?" After she released his hand, it went immediatly to his auburn hair, running through it, attempting to get all of the sand out. "A computer geek huh? Well my dear "self-proclaimed geek", I'm an obsessive artist at your service! What brings you out to the beach this morning?"

An obsessive artist huh. Interesting. What was an obsessive artist doing volunteering on an island? She would ask that later, for now she was going to enjoy their conversation.
"Fresh air. As far as I know I am only allergic to cats, but since I got here my allergies have been really bad, I hoped the fresh air would help." As if on cue she sneezed. "What about you?" she asked grimacing at the sneeze.

He was suddenly very glad that his only real allergy was grass. "Enjoying the day. The lighting is perfect for a base sketch. I was on my way down to the water's edge. If I get there soon enough I'll be able to capture the way the light reflects off the water at this time of day." He wasn't really aware that he was ranting, it didn't take much to make him rave when he was in "Artist mode."
"I doubt there are any cats down there, if you'd like to join me?" Cole didn't think twice about her self-procclaimation. She was probably here working on some of the technical equiptment for the resort, fixing something or another.

This time she actually did smile. "That would be great, I've never seen an artist at work before." Unless one counted animations majors at the university, though much of what they did was all computer generated.
"Are there any wild cats here? I'm allergic to those as well. Though I think it just might be that the previous occupent of my duplex kept a pet cat and it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned. I'll have to ask that it be done. I can't help the people here unless something is done about my allergies."
Let him take that as he would. Likely he would assume she meant helping the people keep up the 'resort' though she meant something completely different.
"What medias do you use?" For Kaelyn had only had experience with computer generated images.

((Sorry if I answer this question wrong. I'm still researching art, seeing as I know absolutly nothing about it. -dies-))
"I highly doubt that they would have wild cats here." He said almost incredulously, there was no way they would allow wild cats on an island resort.
"Well come on then before we miss the good light." He began to descend towards the water again, going slowly, waiting for Kaelyn. "I work with all sorts of things. I've dabbled in Photography and Graphic design. But my perferred area's are Realism and Murals....I live to paint murals quite honestly."

"Oh!" The delight was evident in her face. He was an all around artist, but he preferred painting. "That is really cool. Being a computer geek I usually only got to hang around with animations people. They do everything on a computer and a lot of them used 3D rendering programs." Kaelyn shrugged, she had taken a few courses in her pathway to programming, but she preferred the hard code. She didn't have the patience or the brain to concentrate and create works of beauty. To her, computers were beautiful. She followed him, walking carefully as to not get her sneakers to gritty - sand was very uncomfortable when it got into shoes. "How long have you been here? Is the rest of the island this beautiful?" She was asking a lot of questions, but he likely knew more than she did since she had been in her duplex for a few days.
((Don't feel bad, I know almost nothing about computers and I have decided to go into computer engineering at university XD))

"I've tried to use 3D Rendering programs but I failed miserably. I'd like to broaden my computer horizons, if you're ever interested in helping a tech-dummy, learn a bit about it."
Cole stopped scrutinizing the scene before him. All emmotion faded from his face, replaced by an intense observant gaze, unsatisfied he changed his angle and moved foreword a little bit more. Scowling he muttered softly to himself and rotated a little to the left. Satisfied he unslung his bag and settled himself into the sand. "I've only been here two days actually. I arrived yesterday. This morning is my first experiance of the island. But I have no doubts that it is at least this beautiful, if not more. We should check it out sometime."
((Heh Yay for you, that's really cool!))

Kaely observed as Cole seemed to become hypnotized by the ocean in front of them. "I heard from one of the doctors that the cliffs are beautiful. I would love to see the view from there once." She sat back in the sand figuring it would be more comfortable and kicked off her shoes revealing bare feet. "It seems so peaceful. . ."

"That would be the perfect angle to check out next. Maybe a bit back from the edge to get some of the rocks. Gosh I should be taking pictures of this." Cole pulled out a sketchpad from his bag and set to work, his pencil moving across the page as if possessed. "It is peaceful. The perfect place for a resort!"
