Barreling through the sky like a meteor at an unfathomable speed, a bright red streak of light slic...wait...we've all seen this before. This can't be right! That occurance in the sands of time was burried and left to a conclusion hardly fitting of an Unstoppable vs an Unmovable. There weren't even any proper explosions! Pfft, unmovable indeed, more like uncapable...even though thats not a word.

At the center of a rather large crater created by the opening stages of a fight long past, a single distortion of light and energy pulled into existance. It looked as though a single point in space was being pulled back to infinity, a corrdior through time and space taking shape, the connection established and needed only a binding to be completed. Long before the man being called could arrive at the scene streams of energy pushed through the unstable gate and formed up around the outer limits of the distortion, forming a ring of alternating emerald and orange that slowly spun 'round the distortion, a ring of light and energy in midair.

From down the long corridor through time and space the man could be seen, a hue of emerald about his lower half as his forest green cargo pants, sans the pockets, and his green combat boots came into focus. A gunmetal grey trenchcoat billowed behind him, more than a few shades off the black shirt he wore. A pair of emerald shades his his alternating orange and green pupils while a shock of ashen hair did little to hide the two small horns growing from atop his head.

It would be seen that this form was not upon the ground and when he emerged from the Gate he did not fall, well, not fast enough for it to be worth anything. The Gate slowly closed until it was the size of a ring to be placed upon the finger, the event horizon disipating as it slipped over his right ring finger. Standing in the skies he would wait.

::No bright flash of energy, no showy entrance. Mere moments after being called back, a tall figure just appears, a dot in the vast expanse of the sky. Opting for a simpler approach on this encounter, the Mystic Orinian pauses a moment, hovering stagnantly just over three hundred above sea level. His wild red hair not bound by his hat, his face remains obscurred by his red band and one-way glasses. His old black trenchcoat flowing lightly in the wind, his red shirt underneath is buttoned up to the halfway point, revealing the midnight black undersuit the boy wears.

His shirt not tucked in, the rest of Deity's attire consists of his black jeans and leather zip-up boots, along with his padded gloves. Neither of his weapons are brought with him - at least none that can be seen. His vermillion irises focused upon the man below, he decides to make his descent, not bothering to wait on gravity as he flies straight down, feet-first. His coattails waving madly above his head, Deity slips his fingers into his jean pockets as he drops.

Inches from the ground, the soles of his boots come to a sudden halt, as though he's landed upon an invisible surface four inches above the dirt, which wafts up in a circular cloud away from him. His wolflike tail swaying slowly behind his legs from underneath his coat, the pale-skinned Tonepian maintains the calm expression on his face in silence.::

((>.> >.<``` He's um...kinda floating where ground level should be if the crater wasn't there.))

The alternating bands of emerald and orange seem to shift a quarter turn behind his shades as he looks over Deity. A smirk forms across his lips, "Right on schedule, in accordance with what has been foreseen. I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of arranging this for a simple cause." Another quarter turn of his pupils and the sky was alight with images of the deeds the Tonepian had done, in any of various stages of his existance. A quarter turn back towards the starting point and the images faded, "I desire this. I seek not to slay you or take your strength as my own, nay, I desire to be...a target, an outlet. It is not often in the expanse of time and space I find someone I might consider a challenge. My terms are thus, we enter combat on friendly terms, fight to the fullest, and once we have completed the session -ending on death or forfeit- the events of this day -or several days- shall be erased, with or without your memory intact at your chosing. In all, once we are done, this day will cease to exist."

<<...and Deity is down below near the crater flo'... =O >>

::Listening solemnly to the man's words, the tall Orinian closes his red eyes upon first sight of those images as they appear in the sky, as though by instinct. Turning his head away, he refuses to look, remaining otherwise calm with his head held low. Staying like this, he waits for his would-be opponent to speak again before making another move. The expected words soon arrive, the Mystic Tonepian's eyelids lifting as he tilts his head to his right, glancing sideways at the man in the sky.

Though somewhat puzzled at first, Deity understands for what the other boy asks, nodding once in agreeance. While, inside, he feels not the need to resort to drastic measures, he now feels somewhat more secure knowing that no matter what he does or goes through, the events of this battle will be deftly swept from his memory. He technically needs not hold back against this person. Straightening his neck upright, the tall red-haired demon tilts his head back to look up at the boy, a gentle smile forming upon his lips.::

((But why? XD))

Timeline-Machinae Supremacy

The Hands of God

With the proposal given and accepted the man wastes no time in beginning, for such would be blasphemy. Even as he begins his motions a blur is left in his wake, hands falling to sweep past his thighs and rise back up as his body was thrust into a midair spin. He seemed to be one step ahead of his own actions in terms of his reactions and sight as the two firearms just barely unholstered fire off two rounds a piece at the form below, each travelling at speeds high enough to splatter a man's newly liquefied torso for several dozen yards.

The Eyes of God

Even though he fires off these rounds he knows well enough that his actions will end in futility. An opening action of hostility is just that, an openner, a preparation for what is to come. The alternating bands of emerald and orange shift one quarter turn in a clockwise manner as a pulse of brilliant orange flows from his body. It is only barely perceptable at the edges of one's periphreal vision, and seems to have no purpose. Why did he do it? Time will tell.

::Taking advantage of the circumstances, Deity decides that now would be a good time to put some extra effort into it, unlike the last time. Watching the firearm rounds move toward him as though in slow motion, he stays still in place as both arms lift, fingers slipping from his pockets and curling into gently-formed fists. Raising both forearms to cross into an 'x'-shape at the level of his collarbone, the Mystic Orinian devil appears to take a defense position.

His hidden vermillion orbs flashing a bright red for an instant, a thickened wave of physical energy explodes from his body like a bomb of raw force, tearing into the ground like a fist pushing down into a sofa cushion. The sound is similar to a gunshot of epic proportions, lasting just as long. This spherical wave of power bursts outward through the air nearly eight miles in all directions in just under one second.

The ground giving way with little resistance - though not to equal depth nor at the same speed as the airborne force - a large ditch builds underneath the Mystic Orinian devil for no apparent reason, as far as the eye can tell. Though there is in fact plenty reason. Being hit with such a shockwave would kill the average man before he could even realize there was a shockwave to avoid. Something as massive as a cargo ship would be flattened sideways in the blink of an eye.

As expected, the four rounds have no effect. They don't even reach the target, colliding with his aura force and being hurled backward. In a heartbeat, it's over, the explosion of strength having come and gone, making an additional crater in the crust of the Earth: fifteen and a half miles wide, three and a quarter miles deep. Floating in the same spot as before is the 'Fierce Deity', his arms still held in front of his chest with his red eyes focused on his opponent.

The Tonepian's strength can now be calculated as over four times that of his normal human form, still no visible signs of energy circulation yet visible. Though possibly seen as an attack, that force just now was only the sudden increase of his power, his ki expanding in the same manner as a Ki Burst, but in a much larger leap. His arms extending out and then down to his sides, Deity now floats above a much larger hole, no longer near the ground at all.::

((Yeah, its all gibberish to me. XD))

Ripples in a Pond

Just as Deity's perception can track the bullets as if they were in slow motion Tacitus can track the expanding aura because, to him, it is in slow motion. The onset of the aura seems to take on a brilliant orange sheen, a similar visible projection forming around Tacitus himself and, unbeknownst to the other, around Deity as well, to be explained later. The ripples in space flowing from the man cause havoc at the brunt of the expansion, but as it approaches Tacitus simply seems to twitch. It passes him harmlessly as he disappears for the briefest moment, projecting himself through time and space just enough for the rapid expansion to pass him harmlessly. The short distance of projection in both fields causes a negligable strain upon his grasp of time. All the while his weapons seem to merge into his hands, streams of metal leaping forth to dive into his skin.

The Gaze of God

The aforementioned orange luminescence is in actuality simply a visible projection of one's own temporal signature, that which binds them to the timeline. This effect simply allows each being to track the extensions of the other without fail, meaning that going invisible and moving really fast is not going to work quite so well, especially as Tacitus actually seems to see events before they happen. All about Genesis the aura seems to run off into orange rose petals and unblinking eyes, though these small effects are hardly of a purely visible nature.

((Now that I think of it, one of 'em in your sig reminds me of Dominic Deegan, as per the webcomic by that name. >.>))

::His red eyes narrowing up at his opponent, the Mystic devil from Tonep begins moving upward, increasing his altitude little by little at a relaxed pace. Soon at level with Tacitus - roughly one thousand feet away - the tall demon comes to a stop, a casual smile upon his face. The thrill of battle is more intense when the consequences are nullified nigh entirely.

Ready to begin, Deity clenches both fists sternly at his sides, lifting his right knee and leaning forward as though to run. When he begins movement it's like a blur, his body flashing forth to reach Tacitus in less than 1/174,000th of a second. The initial strike comes just as suddenly, and at the same rate of movement; a left knee swinging up and inward toward the target's right side, just below his chest.

The sheer physical strength of the blow would result in an explosive-like shockwave upon contact with Tacitus, though not nearly of the same magnitude as the one before it. It likely will not reach the ground with enough force to cave it in further. The Orinian's right knee lowered again into a straightened leg, his right forearm is held vertically forward, left extended behind him. Most of his momentum is gone from his dash, as though his movements themselves - including his stopping after the advance - are jumped into high speed.::

Ghosts

Speed meant nothing to a man whose sight pierces the veil of time and space, further enhanced by the aura about him in which his own perspective is one of such immense speed a ghost of the man is seen before he even arrives, a shadow of future actions. From the onset of the ghost's arrival Tacitus simply takes a step back as a portion of his signature remains floating where the limit had once been. This would create a shadowed ghost of Genesis, a lens frozen in time viewing what had been. This lens was frozen, meaning that it was nothing but air, but the temporal field produced in this fashion stopped air molecules in their tracks, creating a physical barrier of immense strength.

Aftershock

The strike would land upon the lends when the ghost was replaced by the real Deity, the shockwave extended out from the field as it seemed to somehow shatter the lens. It was true that stopping time entirely was disasterou and difficult, akin to acheiving absolute zero. The molecules were frozen, but not at a zero point. As such the immense strength of the strike excites the molecules and, quite simply, breaks the effect for a moment, a lesser aftershock passing behind the shield, pushing back on the Fated, tearing strips from his trenchcoat, but dealing no apparent damage. All the while the flows of metal continued to dive in and out of his skin like a layer of muscle on the outside of his skin, pushing up over his arms and starting across his shoulders.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 9:31 pm

::The frozen shadow of Tacitus goes all but entirely unnoticed as the Orinian devil smashes through it with his left knee, turning immediately into a clockwise spin - in effect, he curls his legs in against his chest with his right extended just slightly forward, knee bent. Both arms swinging out in the same rotation his body flows - his position drifting closer to Tacitus to fill the gap created just now- he only increases his speed from before, each movement passing a speed over roughly one hundred and fifty-six thousand times that of sound.

The very air straining to accommodate the intensity of his velocity, Deity's next attack comes as he reaches the full extent of his spin; a fully-extended right heel kick swings in and down as the Tonepian hovers to within four feet of his target, his kick aimed toward Tacitus' neck and shoulder area, around the trapezius muscle. He is using a downward, slanting angle, so a primarily sideways or backward path after contact would not be the case. A full-on hit would send an object the size and weight of Tacitus into the ground and more than just a few miles under the crust surface. If it survived the impact, anyway.

The same effect upon the atmosphere that the last attack had is repeated with this one, simply a side-effect of the explosive force behind the demon's blows rather than an attack in itself.::

Transference

As Deity's speed increases he would note something quite interesting, simply the fact that his acceleration seems sluggish. Barely visibly links, seen only in periphreal vision, stretch between the visible aura between the two men. As yet this effect would not be as devestating as it would be to say, a lesser undead or similarly willed creature, but the effect should be noticable. Deity was being subjected to an effect which was slowing his very existance by altering just how he was connected to the timeline. Similarly, Tacitus was receiving a speed boost proportional to this loss.

Stonewalled

Not only does The Fated not dodge from the oncoming blow, but he seems to thrust himself into it! Had Deity entered a spin in the other direction he would likely lose a foot, so it is fortunate that he strikes at Tacitus's right side. (Unless I am mistaken, cause I think thats what it would be...clockwise.... ^_^```) The strike connects among the flowing metal and...nothing. The armor doesn't even seem to dent or budge under the impact, and connecting doesn't even seem to create a vibration. This is, quite simply, because the armor is formed from Temporal Steel-Defensive Variant. Temporal Steel does not last forever, but instead has a set duration in which to exist. In that duration it takes everything and contains it in a type of temporal stasis. Each strike reduces the overall duration of the temporal steel, whether it be receiving or unleashing such a blow, and when the duration expires the effects explode outward from the armor's outer surface as it crumbles to dust. The growth seems to pause around his neck on the right side as if the blow hampered the armor's growth.

((Offensive isn't quite as durable, it gets more of the duration chopped off by blows, but it can cut damn near anythng. Offensive variant stops time at the tip of a blade to slide between molecules or stores kinetic force in a blunt object.))

::The sluggish acceleration is indeed noticed by the controlled devil. Though strange, he doesn't pass it off as just his imagination - he knows his powers, and that was indeed strange. Too much of this would dampen his chances of a victory, though it wouldn't necessarily increase his chances of a defeat, either.

Just as his heel crashes against Tacitus' neck, another spherical wave of expelled force radiating away from them, the red-haired demon smiles ever so softly, lifting his heel away from his opponent's neck in a slow and relaxed fashion. No longer moving at some godly speed, he quietly lowers his left leg below him, tucking in his right and likewise lowering it. Already feeling the effects of the man's ability, he ponders how dramatic it can become, or how such an ability would effect him during this fight.

Though such an experiment isn't really the reason behind his withdrawal, his curiosity towards something else compels him to wait. Settling his hands at his sides, Deity floats backwards a few meters, standing at roughly the same level as Tacitus.::

((I can wait, ya know. XD *shrug*))

The last that is seen of Tac's face could best be described with a written emoticon: ^__^. This is, quite simply, damn close to what he looks like, smiling through it all as his face is consumed by the helm, two swirling fields of energy -also alternating orange and emerald- taking the place of his eyes. Within he began receiving readouts on Deity's aura from his temporal signature, the helm providing a HUD of sorts to give more detailed information and sharper visual accuity on the temporal scale as well as the spatial.

A Punch?

As Deity moves back from Tacitus the man shifts again, his hands apparently reformed as the guns are no longer apparent save for odd bracers about the armor with a port on the back of each wrist for which the purpose is obvious. Forming about his left knuckles appear to be small spikes, each formed of Temporal Steel-Offensive. Tac throws his fist back for a rather obvious punch, and looks rather comical as like swirls around it for a moment, all orange and ominous looking. In reality this is merely a feint, a field of intensely slowed time forming about his right palm as he rushes forward in a burst, a left hook thrown once he gets close and then...he vanishes before it can connect.

Reach Out and Touch Someone

If Deity actually dodges, this will be taken into account as Tac shifts from one location to another by a form of instant transmission just a split second before he leaves the original location. This jump is through both time and space similar to how he avoided the wave at the onset of the confrontation. From his new location to what should be behind Deity or in the way of a possible dodge, Tacitus thrust his right palm forward with little force, but all it takes is a mere touch. Should it connect the author will explain as its past midnight and he can't think anymore. The basics of it will be that Deity will be stuck unless he wants to rip a chunk out of his body, even if he moves through instant transmission.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 19, 2006 5:21 pm

::His hands remaining at his sides, Deity shows no signs of wariness when Tacitus rears back for his little punch. Even as he approaches and swings, Deity's hair flows backward slightly, but he otherwise does not react. No, when Tacitus presents himself behind the red-haired demon is when he makes a move, that strike seeming as useful as the feint preceding it. Suddenly two meters forward and slightly to the left, Deity is out of Tac's range in the blink of an eye, though his posture is changed dramatically. Having lowered his altitude by a foot or so with his knees bent and his feet forward, his hands have balled into fists, his right elbow raised slightly.

Upon first realization of his current position, Tacitus will have Deity rocketing back at him at the same speed he utilized beforehand, moving straight back and aiming the point of his elbow toward Tac's chest. The attack is just as powerful as any of the others, if not more so due to his velocity. The elbow aimed slightly upward, right after contact (should there be contact, of course) Deity would spin swiftly counter-clockwise three hundred and sixty degrees, reaching with his left hand and tightly grasping Tacitus' right shoulder with his forearm across the back of his neck. In a continuous fluid motion, his right knee bolts up for another blow toward his opponent's spine just below the shoulder blades.::

Spines

A blink of an eye is an eternity to one such as Tacitus, but despite this the speed is noted, and the motions of Deity are revealed to the Overseer. He seems to worry little, if at all, about Deity's backwards rush towards him, in fact he again seems to push into the assault, shifting so that the strike will land on the left side of his chest. It is at this moment that Deity would find a small spike of sorts in his elbow, one among many beginning to cover the left half of his armor. It would be noted here that the strike would seem to stop dead on the armor and, as with before, no shockwave would be produced. This would, however, slow armor growth to some slight degree, matching up with the right side. Of the same offensive steel the wound would not be anything massive, but the fact such a simple spike can pierce his flesh should be alarming.

Growth

Should the grab continue it would go as planned, Deity's knee thrusting up to find the same result, just like punching a wall that would not budge. This, however, would not be the end of it as his arm would quickly find the same series of spines upon the left half of the armor reaching out to pierce, hook, and trap Deity while the right seemed to begin growing over his flesh to keep him in that exact position. To accompany this the field of time within Tac's left hand would only seem to grow, reaching a diameter of five inches.
