In the anime it hints at it. Episode 11 - Mid-boss is extremely sad when a certain prinny has to leave... COULD IT BE!?
Mid-boss and Krichevskoy are all... girly-ish... so....
you decide...

I've been thinking that too,now lets compare their body and faces Krichevskoy:  Mid-Boss: 1.They have the same hair color and shape of face (kinda) 2.It seems that Mid-Boss knows alot about Laharl 3.Their voices sound similar (....I guess) 4. ......*points at eyebrows* 5.Their body looks kinda the same too.

I've heard a theory about this one. It went something like this....
King Krichevskoy was reincarnated after being a prinny, and took the body of Vyers, a.k.a. Mid-Boss. He retained all of his memories.
That, and one is lead to believe that Mid-Boss is the one that Lamington is always talking to, as during Episode 5, he says he will do something about the issues if need be, and he appears to help Laharl in the last stage. The person that Lamington is talking to always says he has faith in Laharl and Etna (or one is lead to think that those are the two that he means), so it makes sense to believe that they're one in the same.
I haven't beaten the game, either, so I don't fully know. In any case, those are my thoughts on the matter. -nods-

If you get the good ending in the game,you see Midd-Boss AND the Queens spirit dissapper together. I think that really gave it away.
I have some more proof,but I'm gunna be lazy and not show it sweatdrop

Aw...if Mid-boss is Krichevskoy...then my favourite pairing of Laharl x Mid-boss seems...oh so much worse.
