The Silent Hill games are my favorite games. I love the second and third ones. Do You like them? And if so, which ones are you favorites? Also, did you like the movie?

I'm a HUGE fan of Silent Hill... whether it be the games, the movie, or just the whole fictional storylines and history behind it all. (I'm actually a member of the SH guild here in Gaia... hehe smile ) The makers of Silent Hill always go so indepth with the history of the characters and the town itself that it's hard not to get fully involved with it all. It almost makes you want to believe that there really could be a Silent Hill in real life. (check: Centralia, Pennsylvania in Wikipedia). And since it all seems so believable, it's a lot of fun to get really involved in the fictional world and discuss theories about the games and the characters with other SH fans.

My least favourite game out of the 4 is so far the third one. I just really hated the camera angles in it... it was really frusturating. I know that they were put in to "enhance" the atmosphere but it did nothing for me except really hate the game for it.

I'm playing SH 4 right now so I can't say if I don't like it or not... so far so good though for the most part. I am disappointed with it though for two reasons: One, you don't really fight much of anything... half of the enemies you can't really kill, you can only hit them down and they'll just get back up 30 seconds later. So you just mostly run away from everything... which is so not like normal SH gameplay usually. I'm also disappointed because really, they didn't even plan on making SH 4: The Room as a Silent Hill game in the first place. In the middle of developing it, the head honchos decided it would be too risky to advertise it and sell it as a lone game on it's own... so they changed around the storyline a bit and threw in some SH references and slapped on the title of Silent Hill. Seems pretty cheap a** to me. sad

I love the first and second Silent Hill games... for me, those could probably be my most favourite games. They're just classics, everyone has to play them. But out of the two I suppose the second is the best... but they're both great. biggrin

As far as the movie goes, I was fairly impressed. It was probably one of the better video game-turned movies that I have seen... usually those types of movies crash and burn... hard. The environment and overall atmosphere displayed in the movie was right on target for Silent Hill. It felt exactly like it does in the games. The best parts about it though are when those sirens go off... gotta love those sirens!! The only thing I might not of liked so much was that I probably would have prefered if they followed the same storyline as SH1... but hey I still liked the movie, it was quite entertaining for a SH fan, for me at least. smile

I can't wait until Silent Hill: 0rigins comes out for PSP!!!!! AHHHHH!!! hehe. smile Sorry for such the long post, but I really do love Silent Hill.

That's alright. I am sad because I haven't played the 1st Silent Hill game cry . My Fav so far is the 2nd one. Right now, we are trying to find my sister's memory card to get the ritual ending.

I'm a big fan of the series, we've got the first three games. I've completed the first two but only played the third a bit before our things went into storage.

I love the first game as it has all the classic nightmare places. The SH series is one of the few series I've gone hunting around for theories/reviews/etc to read as I find them very interesting. heart

Has anyone seen No Escape ? I really enjoyed this.

I have played and beaten all 4 of them muliple times, except for 4 which is my least favorite. I have to say that 2 was by far my favorite, I still get freaked out when I play it! I think that the games are very deep and I love reading all of the theories and additional information for them online. The movie was great too, the monsters were scary as hell and the siren gave me goosebumps. And I would be 100% behind Mr. Ghans for another movie. I love Silent Hill so much that I am currently working on a nurse costume for Halloween! xd

I've played 2,3,and 4 xp , and I'd have to say 3 is my fav. too...though the plot is kinda messed up...and I enjoyed the movie, mebbe not so much the story, but the monsters and everything were cool xp if only we had sirens as a warning in the games, and a shelter we could run to lol. Pyramid Heads are scary and rock!

OMG That is so awesome and a great idea!! My fav baddie of all time in Silent Hill would be the nurses... I have no idea, I just love em!

That would be cool to see a nurse from SH on Halloween... freaky if it looked real too. I just hope it'll be foggy this halloween... muahaha.

I only played Silent Hill 3, but I think my favorite enemy is those bloody worm thingys (couldn't tell because it was so dark in the game). I didn't enjoy the movie, then again I don't enjoy most videogame based movies.

I've yet to see the movie, but I love every installment of SH, except for 4: The Room. That one was just..no. Didn't do it for me.

I love the silent hill series. I like 2 the best, cause the plot is all funky and cool. 3 is good too though.

I'm a HUGE fan of the series. I played the first game and loved it! I was actually shocked the second game didn't tie in with the first, which made me love it even more since it was also so different!

the third one is one of my favorites, a girl that went around in a scary world kicking butt! woosh! loved it! 3nodding

i'm currently on the fourth one, and litterally screwed haha! gonk I have no health potions left and walter keeps shooting me! the chicka isn't much help, getting attacked by the dogs. silly woman don't do that whee

but i do like the fourth one because it features the ghosts and that's different and gives it a nice twist!

You should see the movie! it kept pretty close to the story line! I watched the special features on the DVD, apparently the film makers asked the gamers what they would have liked to see and kept it like they wanted.

I played a demo of SH 1 for PS1 and it scared me so bad I had to turn it off. sweatdrop I've never wanted to pick it up since. Also, we rented the SH movie a couple of weeks ago but the things we saw as part of the menu and on the special features freaked us out so much/were so gross we didnt' actually watch the movie; we brought it back unwatched. Just not my style I guess.
