Star Foxes:Despite the continued lack of new discoveries inside the Stardust Facility, Professor Feline had not given up on her search for new breeds of dustling dragons-- especially not after the dustpan with the mist surrounding it! That discovery had piqued her interest and renewed her spirits.
She spent her nights outside in the warm, dry air with her telescope, watching the stars and plants for any signs of change. Occasionally she'd be attacked by a falling pile of dust, but other than that, nothing would happen for days on end.
Until one night, when Feline had nearly turned in, she caught sight of something bright and blinking in the sky. Her hopes were dashed when she realized it was an airplane passing by, and she turned to leave-- but wait a second! Airplanes never flew over such a deserted oasis. She pulled her telescope back out and looked up in time to see a bright light whisking towards the Facility area.
With a gasp she was running around in circles frantically, incoherently shouting and mumbling at the same time.
And then the bright little ball conked Feline on the head.
Hours later, a small nudge awakened her. Dawn was already creeping up behind the mountains. Vestakia was chirruping in hunger. "Oh.. alright, girl.. breakfast, yeah.."
And when the memory of the night before finally hit her, her eyes bugged a little and she began sifting through the sand madly. "Where is it?!"
Apparently, a very, VERY small star or even a chunk of meteorite (she had no idea just yet) had entered their atmosphere and, for some reason, was also attracted to the oasis area like stardust was. This intrigued her, so, holding her bruised noggin, she scuttled back to her lab and placed the bright little burnt-out star into a tentative glass jar and, feeling silly, labelled the bottle "falling star".
...Not even a week later, a small furry .. thing.. popped its head out of the jar and gave an ear-splitting cry of fear, confusion, and hunger. Mostly hunger. Not a good thing to wake up to, and Vestakia agreed whole-heartedly. But still, Feline was ecstatic to see a new type of creature coming into the Facility. So many tests to perform!
And, after another week, the creature was finally coaxed out of its bottle. It was still rather fuzzy and young, and Feline had a feeling it would grow into quite a beautiful little thing. Vestakia was jealous all over again.
"I'll name him Zureas," Feline told herself, and smiled.
