Self-explanatory topic. Seems every band member and/or former band member I talk with had the "bald band director with the pulsing vein" at one point, or another.
Was your band director (or one of your directors) bald? Did they have "the pulsing vein" during marching season?

Both of my BDs (middle school and high school) are bald, but I've never noticed this vein you speak of.

That's amazing. Our director's bald AND has the vein, but that's when he's mad, not just marching season. He's funny to watch conduct, because when he's mad, he starts sweating like crazy, turns red, and you can see the vein about to burst.

only one of my band directors are bald. and he cannot direct slow songs. only fast ones.

one of our band directors is bald. We used to think that he waxed his head before he came to school. When the sun would hit his head it would blind everyone.

My BD is partly bald- like the top of his head is bald but he combs his hair over it. xp

Vien? - No
Sweat? - Hell Yeah...
At a concert, you can see the balls of sweat rolling down his head. The shine from his head almost blinds you sometimes. And, OH MAN, you should see him when he has a turtleneck on...he looks like a broken....

My middle school band director was bald, but I wasn't with him during marching band season, so I have no clue about the "pulsing vein".

our band director is balding.....and yes he has had the pulsing vein.....i think....
the other band teacher has a spectacular hairline! my friends and i kept commenting about it during band camp XD

no, i havent had any bd's like that but ive had ones w/ bad tempers but thats explainable for my band 3nodding

First band director was bald: Nicest guy.
Second: Receding hairline, but pulsing vein. Would go from normal to berzerk with the snap of a finger.
Third: Bald. STRICT. I got chewed out for saying 'yeah' instead of 'yes'. No pulsing vein though.

Durham's is alright.
Except for when his vein is raised at me.

Then it's like a scary second Durham that speaks in a 45-tone and says all the things that he wants to say.
"Gosh Sandy. It's a figgen octave change! C-G-C, WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!?!"

I don't think that my director has the vein, but he is quite bald. He actually looks just like Professor Venture, from the Venture Brothers cartoon. @_@
