Beckikins Bakhti had just about recovered from the birth of her two cubs. Both were now with her as she laid next to water. Something she needed to drink alot recently. She was happy with drinking th water adn being out with the cubs. The little boy was sleeping and the girl, well she was a beauty. Both now had names and she was happy. Mahiri however wasn't here, he was off hunting somewhere.
She sighed as she looked into the reflection of the water, she looked an awful lot better then the day the cubs had been born. Now she and both the little ones were healthy and despite everything Kiburi was very healthy and seemed perfectly well, a relief for Bakhti that was sure. Danzi was yet to meet his younger siblings but it would all come in due course. Kimaria Kiburi who had steadily gained her strength over the last couple of days shifted against her mother's side, mewing softly as she awoke from her slumber. The days had been spent simply feeding and sleeping, sometimes going as far as crawling around on her belly, small limbs still clumsy.
Her golden masked face had finally revealed two slate-blue eyes - the eyes a gift from her mother. Newly opened and glossy they tried to focus on this incredibly light world, tail swishing and curling about her tiny form as she snuggled closer to her mother and sought to push her golden sibling to the side.
She mewed again. She was awake. She wanted attention! `Zoe Mahiri wondered back in, a juicy large pece of meat enclosed in his maw. He released it near Bakhti with a smile. He reached down to nuzzle her. "How are you, love?" He asked gently, licking the tiny female cub. "Nice to see you're awake, princess."
He gazed into his mates eyes, lost in the beauty of his sudden change in life. "Any names?" He asked, nudging the piece of slightly bloody meat towards Bakhti. DDB Bakhti and Mahiri's son was doing well too, without the complications his sister had suffered he had strengthened normally. That didn't stop him from enjoying being picked up and carried at every opportunity though. He felt safe hanging from his mother's gentle grip on the scruff of his neck. Besides, his legs were still very wobbly and walking on his own over a distance wasn't really an option.
Today she'd taken them both down to the small pool of water. It was an interesting view but the tiny cub's endurance wasn't up to staying awake long and he'd taken the chance to snuggle up against Bakhti in the warm sun. Yet at the wriggling of his sister in-between himself and his mother, little Mchele opened an eye and mewed too. That little wriggle-bum! He wanted to be close to mum! Baneful Masuka had managed to capture a decent meal that morning for her and her hungry cub, Kikausha watching all the while in dumbstruck awe. He still marvelled at the sheer ruthlessness of his mother when she hunted and silently resolved to someday match her prowess. However, once the white lioness had eaten her fill, she had drifted off for a nap beneath the branches of a tree near the waterhole, leaving a bored Kikausha to wander a little. He had already had a close shave with a crocodile and was now a little wiser.
Casually he got to his feet and made his way towards the waterhole, the odd beginnings of a seductive feline swagger already becoming evident in his movement, one half of his pelt gleaming spotless in the sunlight, the other half absorbing every ray that was cast at it.
Bounding over the decline to the waterhole, he daintily made his way down to the water and looked around, there were a few lions and lionesses around at the moment it seemed but they could wait, in his opinion, his needs came before pretty much everyone. Beckikins Bakhti raised her head at Mahiri and smiled happily, licking at his maw. "Yes, Mchele and Kiburi!" She smiled at her mate before looking down at the two squirming for attention and wanting to be closser to her. She licked them both in time and then looked back at Mahiri happily. She had her dream, she had her family and they were both the most adorable cubs ever, she loved them!
Her attention turned to the cub and she tilted her head slightly. She had seen him before at least once. She looked up at Mahiri and then down at her cubs. She would go over and find out if he ever found his mother but for now she had to stay where her cubs wanted her as they were now her priority. Kimaria A strange smell of meat caught at her tiny nose and she dipped her head into her mother's fur, a tiny squeak catching in her throat as she felt the rasp of a tongue against the top of her head. So it seemed the whole family was together again.
She shifted her weight, blurry vision now focusing upon her sibling who seemed to have been awoken due to her incessent moving. Nevermind, no one could sleep all the time.
Mouth parted in a yawn, forepaws moving to press against mother's stomach, the beginnings of a squeaky purr forming in her throat at her mother's attentions. She paid no heed to the stranger in the vicinity, for why worry about them when mama and papa were here to protect her. DDB Mchele blinked up at his father when he approached, carrying something for Bakhti. It didn't interest him but the licks he got from his mother sure did. He mewled softly and lowered his eyelids, content for the moment in a sort of half-doze.... So long as Kiburi didn't start wriggling too much again! `Zoe Mahiri reclined smoothly, remembering a few hours ago when Bakhti was in so much pain... He winced, lowering his maw to nuzzle at his son also. Son. The word was fresh to his brain, like a new question. He smiled, eyes lighting up but not due to the beams of sunlight that were falling across the waterhole.
"Hello, Son, Or would you rather be called Mchele?" He touched his tiny nose, a huge feeling of warmth spreading through his body. DDB Awoken again but this time not by the fidgeting body of his paler sibling. Rather it was the soft nuzzling from his father, which was alot nicer. Mchele's nose wrinkled as he sniffed back at Mahiri, catching the scent of his recent hunt. But underneath that was the familiar musk of his fur. It was reassuring.
At the question Mchele didn't yet understand, he mewed a little louder and licked his nose where his father had nudged it. DDB Happily surrounded by his family, the new born cub closed it's eyes and snuggled back down again. Safe and warm....

Play time!15th Sep '05Kimaria Kiburi was indeed a very wriggly sleeper, and blissfully unaware of the fact due to being succumbed in a warm, safe snooze that had wrapped itself warmly around her. It was only the sudden loss of her older brother beside her that she stirred, a small squeak escaping from her throat.
Slate-blue orbs opened after a small struggle and she rolled over, her small, plump body still clumsy. She had grown stronger though and that was a good sign. She had evaded the jaws of death despite odds. She was a fighter.
She heard her brother's mewling next, he sounded a little threatening, had he met danger? She twisted this way and that, seeing no sign of him and tilting her head with a look of sheer confusion. Where had he gone?
With a mewing sound of her own she wriggled out of the protective circle of her mother's forepaws and began a clumsy and almost drunken walk towards the direction of the sound. DDB Mchele meanwhile had watched the dark cub dissappear from view, wondering the whole time. He'd seen him off! Mighty Mchele! He obviously looked tougher than.... A loud squawk from a bird flying overhead interrupted his thoughts and he instantly ducked down for cover, his ears flat and his eyes wide. Oh yes... a real sissy!
Deciding that perhaps this area wasn't all that safe to be in, he creeped back in the direction he'd come. Maybe he'd get back before the others woke... he hoped. But his hopes for that sank when he heard the mewing of his sister. What was she doing up? Still, he couldn't hear their mother and father.
Picking up his pace as much as he could without tripping over himself, he mewed back to her. Kimaria She heard the padding of his paws and his answering mew as she approached, questions filling her mind of what he had been up to and where he had gone. It wasn't safe for them to be away from mama or papa when they were so small. For it was most probable that she could curl up in the hollow of her father's pawprint if she so desired.
She wanted to reply but tripped over her own forepaws, body moving forwards as she made contact with the ground. Still clumsy.
She gave a pitiful squeak and tried to regain her paws, opening her mouth to try and form words. She had been listening and learning the language that her parents spoke but it was barely enough to hold any conversation. "Mmm-chell!" Her pronounciation was a little off and her high-pitched tone didn't quite suit talking as of yet. Despite this, her brother's name had been one of the first she had spoken. DDB Scurrying back over to her, he made it through the tall grass just in time to see her fall flat on her nose. Ears pricking up as he heard her call him, he padded over to her to see what the matter was and licking her face, he attempted to shush her. She'd get them both in trouble! Kimaria She scrunched up her nose and gave him a look that easily explained her mood, then with a small huff she sat back, tail curling about her as she reguarded him. It was then that she smelt the fading scent of that dark cub who had been and gone so quickly and she puffed up a little, looking rather silly as she did so. Her brother had been with others?! Ones not of their family?
She gave a squeaky growl, ducking down to try and grab his tail between her tiny and rather useless teeth. Her brother was gonna get in trouble that was for sure! DDB She wasn't happy with him, that was obvious, but at least she wasn't making so much noise. He glanced back in the direction that their paremt's presumably still were, just to make sure they hadn't heard and weren't coming after them. No no... the coast seemed clear and he bagan to head back. But as he moved close past her, he heard her little growl, and he paused, looking back confused. It was bad move to stop though, as she made a go for his tail.
With a squeak he jumped away, stumbling a bit but otherwise upright. At least his tail wasn't in her mouth anymore, her teeth may be small but they weren't exactly nice on his tail. Kimaria He jumped back, and she gave the tiniest of smiles pouncing clumsily after him and losing her balance once again, rolling onto her side and flailing briefly before pulling herself up onto her feet. She glanced down at her paws, scolding them with a silent narrowing of her eyes. Why wouldn't they do as they were told?
She stretched and reached out to bat at her brother's nose with a paw. Bad brother, not letting her bite his tail! DDB At her pounce towards him, he bounded off again a little way away before stopping and turning back to face her, keeping his tail tucked behind him and out of harm's way. Fortunatly she had rolled herself over and wasn't immediatly behind him and he considered for a moment whether to pounce on her this time. Luckily for her she'd gotten up before he'd made up his mind.
But perhaps he should have taken the chance because once she was on her feet again she went for his nose. "Mmmrrrll!" He squeaked and pulled back, putting up his own paw and batting at her to defend himself. Kimaria Wow, he was better at play fighting than she would have guessed! Hiding her surprise behind another squeaky and rather pitiful excuse for a growl she pushed against his paw with hers and moved clumsily around him, looking for an opening in his defence which she could break through. Sadly her experience with this sort of play was zero, or a close approximation so instead she tried to search for his tail once more.
She rocked sideways on her paws, almost losing balance but managed to cling onto it. She was improving...sort of. DDB Moving as well, Mchele tried to keep away from her as she circled around him. His tail flickered back and forth in nervous anticipation of being bitten again before tucking it'self between his legs.
But as the young male cub circled around, following the movements of his sibling and trying to watch her at the same time, he couldn't help but trip up. Rolling onto his side he reflectively put up all his paws to fend off any attacks. Kimaria She watched his tail twitching and an instinct to pounce upon it raced through her young veins, muscles tensed as he tucked it out of the way and the next thing she knew he was tripping up and rolling onto his side, paws out to fend off her attacks.
Well never mind, she wouldn't miss out on this chance. She pushed her weight forwards, forepaws leaving the ground as she moved to pounce upon him, another squeaky mew leaving between parted jaws. DDB Bracing himself, Mchele flattened his ears and opened his mouth to give a little mewing squeal as he saw the pale cub move to pounce on him. With her weight behind it, the impact knocked him a bit and he flailed his paws trying to push her off with kicking back paws. Ow ow! Why did she have to play so hard? Kimaria Kibi was enjoying this little scuffle even if her brother wasn't, and was rather oblivious to the fact that perhaps she was being a bit mean. Probably lucky then that she was smaller and had a rather miserable stamina level.
His back paws contained enough strength so that she was bowled over, rolling on the ground until she was on her stomach. She shook her head, ears flapping around her face as she did so and glanced at the darker of the pair through glassy eyes. The white spots above his eyes were prominent markings that kept drawing her attention despite her best efforts.
"Mmmm-chell!!" She squeaked again, a small frown creasing her tiny features as she tried to find her paws once more. She paused in her whining to stick a small pink tongue out at him. Nerr...silly Mchele! DDB "Kiiib! Kib!!" Mchele yiped as the female cub tackled him, like his sister he had learnt one or two words and the names of his immediate family. But fighting wasn't his strong point and it was hard being on the ground. Giving a mighty shove with his back legs, he managed to push her off him and he scrabbled to his feet, giving a little growl in his throat.
But now he had the upper hand as she was on her stomach, and when she poked her tongue out at him he wasted no time in leaping on her, nipping at those flappy ears. Kimaria She let out a small squeak of surprise, eyes widening in disbelief. Nuuu this wasn't right! She couldn't let meanie brother beat her! That just wouldn't do! She shook her head from side to side, trying to keep her ears out of reach from his little teeth as he nipped at them, and made to roll over onto her back, reaching up to push at his chest with her forepaws, tail twitching from side to side.
She wriggled frantically, desperate to get free and once again gain the upperhand on the situation, creamy fur being tainted by dust and dirt from all the rolling.
Well mother would have to give her a bath later, at this moment in time the condition of this little cub's fur wasn't given a single thought. DDB Wriggling in her sleep! Wriggling when she was awake! Even wriggling when he was trying to chew on her! This was one active sibling and quite enough for Mchele to handle... or put up with more like. He didn't know how lucky he was to only have one other cub in his litter.
After he had started to try and n** at her neck, Kiburi managed to get on her back so her paws could come into play. He sat up a bit more, making as if to n** at her little feet but never quite catching them. Until finally he'd had enough of being battered in the face and pushed in the chest and he leapt off and scooted a little way away. Kimaria Kibu continued to bat at him with her paws and regained a smug expression as he loped off, making another high-pitched mewling sound at his departure. "Mmmm-chell!" She cried after him, a little teasing note playing within her tone.
She rolled over onto her stomach once more, golden forepaws resting on the ground as she panted heavily. Her pale coat reflected the sun well but it burned at her delicate skin if she stayed out in it too much. With a yawn she shook her head, sneezing as dust filled her pale nose and drew herself up shakily onto her paws.
Then twitching her head back to the rock in which her mother was lying in the shade she trotted over and clambered up and over her large paws to snuggle against her neck once more. All that energy spending had left her tired and now she would snooze. DDB Mchele sat down with a thump and looked back over his shoulder at his sister, calling his name teasingly. But seeing her head off back to mother, he trotted after her, watching where he was going so as not to stumble again. Would he aways watch where his feet went? His parents didn't seem to, it just came naturally to them.
But his poor little body and mind had had enough excitement for one day and he too was ready to doze. Not to mention he had to catch up on the sleep he'd lost before when Kiburi had woken him up early. Seeing as she had taken the prime spot to settle down, Mchele curled himself up close to Bakhti's belly. At least he'd be right there when it was time for breakfast. wink

Seeing Red! 18th Sep '05Lethrossen Uumi yawned as he uncurled away from his sister, mother, and other siblings. His eyes opened sleepily and he stretched his small limbs, gaze flicking about. No one else was up yet, or so he thought. He huffed in annoyance, everyone was so lazy.
He squirmed away from the group of cubs, heading out of the pride's den site. He panted a little, already, from his struggle to get over sleeping bodies. Once outside he stretched again, front paws moving foward and his whole body leaning downward, the typical cat stretch.
He tottered toward the edge of pride rock. Kimaria Kibu too was stirring in her sleep, snuggled close against her mother's side she had fallen into a light snooze after satiating her hunger. Now however she was brimming with energy and knowing how her brother hated her wriggly movements when he was trying to sleep she too snuck away.
The warmth that her mother offered soon left her, to be replaced by the sun, it's pale light beating upon a pristine creamy-white coat. She was at this moment in time looking her best, having just been given a bath by her caring mother.
Her paws were stronger now, and she walked a little steadier, ever gaining confidence with this simple action which brought her great joy and freedom. She knew it was dangerous to leave the watchful eyes of her mama, but at this moment in time she didn't care.
Glassy eyes caught sight of a wonderful beauty, some sort of flower that fluttered about in the air? Well flowers weren't supposed to be up there, they were meant to stay on the ground! So she would catch it! Kiburi made a squeaky growl and so the chase ensued, the poor flower-butterfly trying to keep from being squashed beneath her paws. Lethrossen Uumi shifted, ear flicking. Was someone else actually awake? His crimson gaze moved around the surface, finally catching site of one of the other cubs, though it wasn't one of his siblings. He slowly sat, crimson fur ruffling in a very minimal breeze. He glanced up to the sky, not liking the wind very much.
Black tipped tail gave a flick, his gaze was back on Kibu, watching her. He didn't say anything, he probably wouldn't until adressed. But he was staring, intensly. Surely it would give her chills.
Her fur was so light it almost seemed pink. He made a face, why couldn't he have normal fur? He and his twin had to be cursed with red, did they? He huffed slightly and swiped at a pebble, sending it skittering across the rock surface. He grinned at that.
Kimaria Ah ha! Now that showed the naughty flower! She raised her paws from where she had pounced, taking pride in the fact that the poor butterfly was squished and now no longer moving. Flowers should stay on the ground where they belonged! She nodded to herself, pride evident in her expression and with eyes closed she turned around, opening them just in time to see the crimson cub before her.
Legs beneath her trembled and she instantly flattened herself to the ground. Never before had she seen another cub a part from her brother, and this one...this one burned like the sun!
She met his gaze, forcing the fear away and swallowing back the panic which was now ebbing away. She was strong, just like her mama and she would not back down to this stranger. However as he moved to swipe at the pebble she ducked again, a squeaky growl at her throat. Lethrossen He chuckled slightly as he watched her actions, not killing the butterfly, oh no. At her sudden discomfort. It made him feel.. well. Better about himself. He peered into her blue eyes, and frowned. Why wasn't she looking away? Or going to find her mommy.
He giggled when she ducked down, his eyes flicking away, to the ground. He was looking for more pebbles. "Wha, dun like the game?" He murmered, watching her. Games. He wished just once he could tumble and play with his siblings, with out practically dying from exaustion right after they started playing.
His ear flicked a little, one claw tracing a pattern into the rock, but he was looking at her again. Kimaria He was laughing? At her? A small frown tainted her expression, nose wrinkling in distaste. Was she doing something amusing? That action was enough to dissipate her fear and straightening once more she took a few steps forward.
"Game?" She repeated, knowing the word well, she and her brother often played games, play fighting, chasing the flying flowers. However she wasn't sure whether kicking pebbles could be considered a game.
She too had less stamina for such things, running and chasing was something she was still getting used to. She was shaky on her paws and perhaps a litle smaller than she should have been, and all because of her difficult birthing. Well atleast she was still alive and she wouldn't let anyone think they could take advantage of her just because she was 'weak' or 'puny'.
She caught his gaze once more, trying to conjure up some words from her limited vocabulary. She was learning...but slowly, and she wasn't sure how one said hello to a stranger.
"Game rock?" She tilted her head, reaching out with one paw to roll a pebble beneath her pads then glanced up to the other once more. Lethrossen He'd learned most words fast, even if he had difficulty pronouncing a few. So it was a bit of a shock that she sounded so... stupid. Well.. actually you could be considered stupid to him if you breathed a wrong way. And how could you do that?
"Yes. A game, involving rocks." He murmered, one brow raised, and he batted another pebble her way. "See?" the aim of it is to hit you with them.. He chuckled again at this thought. It was more fun seeing others hurt than it was seeing buggies hurt, though his sister seemed to perfer the bugs.
He ddin't like her stepping closer to him, or perhaps didn't understand, and his small body tensed.
Kimaria "Game...involverrring rocks." She repeated quietly, clearly musing over this thought as she glanced down to the smooth rock she was rolling beneath a golden forepaw. Well if he said so then it must be a game, though it didn't sound like much fun.
The next thing she knew was that another pebble was rolling her way, and not wanting to get hit she backed up a little, hind legs getting entangled with one another and sending her to the ground. She let out a small 'oof' sound, drawing in a shaky breath and pulling herself up onto her paws once more.
Then staggering forwards a pace or two she raised her head to spot the nervous tensing of his muscles. A brow arched skeptically as she gazed at him through smoky-glass eyes. He was acting tough one moment then all afraid the next? Sort of like her own brother Mchele.
"Red scare~edy." She said with the smallest of smiles. Lethrossen "I'm naught scared!" He hissed, getting to all fors, eyes narrowing at her. Scared and nervous were two different things.. Weren't they?
"At least im naught.. naught.." He frowned, trying to think of some sort of insult. "Tiny and.. and stupid." He rolled his eyes a little. Actually he was a tad smaller than most male cubs, but it was hard to notice that. And she was even smaller. So he had a right to call her tiny!
"Gosh..and don't call me red.." He spluttered, eyes narrowing. "My name isn't red. Unless you wan' me to call you Peach!" His lip curled a little bit.
Kimaria She jumped back as he spoke up in reply to her comment, well Mchele had never spoken to her like that! She felt suddenly very small, she wanted to curl up and hide, she wanted mama to come and tell this red cub to be a good boy and not bad.
The insult he gave hit her where it hurt, and glassy eyes wobbled beneath a sheen of tears. How dare he say that to her! She'd show him what this tiny, stupid cub could do!
"I call Red what I want!" She said, fur standing on end and making her look all poofy. However at the mentioning of calling her peach - which didn't exactly sound very nice - she calmed down and simply stuck her tongue out at him.
"What name?" She asked finally, "I Kibu." Lethrossen A gleeful smile perched upon his maw as he saw the glassy eyes, seems that the insult had worked well. He snorted. "Kibu?" He raised a brow.
"M'name's Uumikaji." He stated, wondering if she could even pronounce it. "And you will call me Uumikaji, or something simulare." It wasn't a question. He didn't want to be called red, by anyone!
He hated being red. Kimaria "Uuu-meee." She tried out the beginning of the name but faltered on the last part, face frowning as she tried to form the word. Why did he have to have such a complicated name? Pshh...his parents must like to make things difficult or something. She rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Red easier to say." She pouted, moving a little closer to him with whiskers twitching.
"Where your mama..an' papa?" Lethrossen Dammit it was not hard to say! "Uumi." He stated, again. "Not red. And they're sleeping. In there." He nodded toward the den. "My mommy and daddy are /better/ than yours." He stated.
Kimaria She stuck her tongue out at him once more then lowered herself into a crouching position, tail flicking from side to side and hind legs tucked up against a podgy little stomach.
"No they not!" She yelled at his declaration of his parent's being better. "My mama and papa are good as yours. Stupid Red!" That was enough, she stood up once more and with a small huff she turned on her heels and trotted off, no one insulted her parents, NO ONE!
She broke into a run, eyes still glossy from unshed tears until she reached her densite, then pausing to catch her breath she crawled over and snuggled against her mother's side once more, sniffling sadly against her fur.
Was the world always going to be this mean?

Meeting the Queen 20th Sep '05 Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti returned home, it had been a while since the honey coloured lioness had returned to pride rock but now she returned with two healthy cubs. One, the male was being carried by his neck and the little girl seemed to be trying her hardest to keep up. Her little cubs were quite a bit younger then Sarabi's but would eventually grow up together, letting the pride grow a little more.
She made her way up to where she found Sarabi. She placed Mchele down on the floor carefully and bowed her head to the queen. The first lioness she had wanted to see would be the one who now seemed frightfully thin. Bakhti worried a little but soon turned to her cubs and then back to the queen, "Sarabi, I would like to introduce you to my children." She paused and smiled before licking at her daughter, "This is Mchele and Kiburi." She had nodded her head to each one as she said the names, sitting down behind them she looked at the queen and then her own cubs, so cute and sweet. She couldn't help but hope that both her children would find friends here and would be happy.
Looking around her home once more, the bright sun shining down on her pelt she couldn't help but release a loving smile, her queen was becoming incredibly thin and she had her own to cubs to look after, the pride becoming ever larger but yet no one still seemed to be around. This didn't worry her she had her mate coming to stay here at some point and that is all that mattered, she would have a home and a family. Kimaria Mama was leading them to their home, a place where they would be safe and grow up without a trouble in the world. However Kiburi wasn't so happy at this. As she walked slowly along at her mother's flank the pale lioness couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. There would be other lions here, cubs too and she didn't want her mama or papa paying attention to anyone else but her. What was wrong with the way they had been living up till now? A recent encounter with the fiery red cub she had secretly nicknamed 'Rocky' had shown her that not everyone was as nice as her family. She grumbled under her breath, not noticing her mother stopping in time and finding herself knocking into her hind leg. When had she fallen behind anyway? With a small huff she moved forwards, leaning against her mother with a tickling purr. Glassy eyes were then drawn upwards, up to the large lioness her mother was speaking too and a sudden shyness swelled up within her. She backed up once more, moving to hide behind her mother, peeking up timidly at the stranger. Who was this? A friend of mama's? DDB Mchele had been feeling quite dozy when his mother decided to make her way back to pride rock, so it'd been a relief when she took him up gently in her jaws and carried him most of the way. It was a curious thing, watching the world around him move past at a steady gait and for a while he blinked and looked about as best he could. But he soon found the rocking motion bring back his tiredness and he fell into a light slumber.
It was a bit of a shock then, to find himself being placed down carefully and opening his eyes to see the other large adult female before him. "...?!" His ears flickered back for a second, but looking round and spotting his mother standing just behind him made him relaxed. Everything seemed alright, although Kiburi didn't seem to think so as she cowered behind their mother's leg.
Ears twisting this way and that, he listened curiously to the conversation. His mother was telling this one, Sarabi, who he was? Why? Perhaps she was a friend or part of their family? After all, he knew the names of his sister and father. Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi turned as she heard paws behind her, a bright smile breaking out over her face. "Bahkti! How wonderful to see you! Cubs? Oh, they're lovely..." She rose and padded closer, dropping her head to look the inquisitive little male in the face. "Hello, Little one. Your name is Mchele? My name is Sarabi." Soft red eyes shifted to the little female that hid behind the lioness. "Is that your sister, Kiburi? It's very nice to meet you." A purr rumbled in her chest, a sweet, motherly expression on her face. Kimaria She watched her brother through wide eyes, moving a step forward and resting one of her small forepaws upon her mother's hindleg, glancing nervously at this lioness. Glassy vision swpet over the tan and cream coat of the adult female before her, taking note of the kindness in the other's red hued eyes.
A moment more and the little cub relaxed, this one wouldn't hurt them. She actually seemed to be quite nice. Small, pale ears perked up at the sound of her name being spoken, head tilting up once more to peer between her brother and the lioness named Sarabi.
"You mama's f-f-frend?" She asked quietly, struggling with the less familiar words. Then creeping forwards a little she came to sit behind her brother, being careful not to step on his tail. He wouldn't appreciate that. DDB As the large face of the Queen came up close to greet him Mchele's ears twitched back again, just a little unsure. But her eyes and expression were friendly and did indeed remind him of the look his mother had when she washed him. A friendly, kindly sort of face. His eared perked forward and his little nose twitched as he familiarised himself with her scent.
"Yup." He answered with a little squeak when she confirmed that was his name. "-ello Sa-sabi." Looking back when she mentioned his sister, he watched her come creep up behind him, flicking his tail out of the way of her paws just in case. "Uh huh, my sis." Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi smiled softly, sitting back on her haunches. "Yes, I'm a friend." She said to the pale little female. "A very good friend. I'd like to be your friend too, you and your brother. What do you think?" Kimaria She giggled quietly to herself as she watched her brother move his tail out of the way and reached out to try and tap at it with a paw. He was funny! Then bounding sideways and taking another few steps forward she moved to rub her side up against Sarabi's foreleg.
"Think it be 'kay." She agreed to Sarabi's question and turned to blink slate-blue eyes up at her mother. A picture of sweet innocence she was. "Mama say we safe here, be home now." She continued to the crimson-eyed lioness, taking great pride in her conversationalist skills.
"Sabi have nice fur." She ducked her head and moved to wind around the two large forepaws, catching sight of the lioness' tail and making to pounce it. DDB Mchele looked up at the queen, completely oblivious to the fact that the female head of the pride was asking to be his and his sister's friend. "Kay...." He gave a little nod. "Haven't got any fwends." He didn't think his family counted and he hadn't really met any other cubs yet. Plus, as he continued to flick his tail out of the way of his sister's paws, he wasn't sure if he wanted to be friends with Kiburi if all she wanted to do was pounce on him and wrestle.
Fortunatly she decided to leave him be for the moment and rub up to Sarabi. "Nice fur?" He asked, tilting his head and looking curiously as she wound herself around the other adult's legs. This he had to try too and so he stepped forward and nudged his head against the Queen's front leg. "It is!" Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti purred happily at her cubs as they made there way into the world of meeting others. She smiled happily, her bright blue eyes looking into her daughters and flicking down to watch her son. She laid down making sure that Mchele wasn't in the way or anything.
"Kiburi and Mchele, I dont think I told you.. Sarabi and her mate, Mufasa are the leaders of the pride!" She continued to purr happily, "They have just had their own children so if you wish to run off and find some others to play with you can!" She licked at Mchele again as Kiburi was playing with Sarabi's tail. She couldn't help but giggle a little. Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi purred as she stretched out on her stomach, flicking her tail for the pleasure of Kiburi. This was what she loved most about having cubs, the playfulness and nurturing. The sun beat down, warming and soothing her tired bodyand leaving her content and lazy. Bahkti's cubs were just wonderful, and would make good additions to the pride as they grew. A flash of red caught the Queen's eye and she perked her ears at the grass below Priderock. Her purr intensified as it seemed that at least one of her cubs was roaming a little closer to home today. Vaguely, she wondered where her mate had gotten to, as well as the other cubs. Kimaria Tail! And it was moving! Kibu's eyes widened with joy, the glassy vision swirling with excitement as she bounced forwards almost gracefully on her paws. However too eager to trap the tail she lost her footing and rolled sideways, legs flailing in the air and small body wriggling as she tried to right herself.
She gave a dissapointed mew, deciding to remain on her back and reach up to bat at the queen's tail as it swept past her nose.
It was then that her mother spoke and she paused just briefly in her play to glance in Bakhti's direction. "Leeeeed~ers." She repeated slowly, wrinkling her nose a touch. "What's that mama?"
She turned to glance to her brother who had moved forwards to 'Sabi' too, wondering if he had an ideas or if he was just as clueless as she. DDB Mchele stopped his nudging against Sarabi as the two adult lionesses made to lay down on the hard rocky floor. Even though both took care not to squash him, he still darted a little out of the way to be safe. He didn't fancy being squished at all!
Once they were down and any risk was gone, he came back up to his mother again. Sitting himself down between her front paws he mewed a little and begged for more licks and affection. "Moofafa?" He questioned as he bumped his head against Bakhti's chin. Like Kiburi he didn't have any clue what a leader was. But the pride was their home, or so he'd heard his mother mention. This place was their home, their pride was their home. "And chill-dren? Sabi have cubs too?" He looked over at her, although she seemed a little preoccupied, not noticing one of aforementioned cubs come creeping up to see them. `Zoe A large chocolate and ivory figured padded into the Pridelands, each massive paw touching the ground with a loud thump. His long chocolate mane flew behind him as he ran towards the group of lions, slowing slightly as he moved foward and licked Bakhti on the nose affectionately, before reaching down to the two cubs. "Hello," He grinned, licking each of them in turn, pawing playfully at them both, his grin growing wider.
Mahiri looked to Sarabi, bowing his head gracefully. "Hello," He began, trying to think "I am the father of these two beautys, and the mate of the lovely Bakhti." He remained bowed. "May I ask your permission to reside here with my family?" He knew he would have to ask the king also, but Sarabi was the one who had to give her permission. It was actually rather intimidating, being infront of a queen. He paused again, smiling. "Congratulations on your litter." Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti smiled at her daughter, "Leader, she is Queen, ruler of the pride. We do as she asks." She purred happily as her son deciding to rub against her chin. "Mchele its Mufasa. He is the king. Yes she has cubs, you can become friends with them or something!" She smiled happily, continuing to purr.
She however raised rather quickly when her mate arrived, "Mahiri!" She smiled as she nuzzled him and licked at his face. "i didn't realise you would follow so quickly!" Her face had lit up and her eyes stared lovingly at Mahiri. She was happy to have her family together. Happily. Bluefire Dragonz Sarabi smiled down at the male cub. "Yes, I have five wonderful little cubs." She looked up as the male came up to them, rising onto her haunches. The queen faced the male squarely, her glance probing. "You are Bakhti's mate? I don't believe we've been introduced, though you seem to know who I am. As for joining the pride, that is entire up to Mufasa, the king." `Zoe He smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Sarabi." He paused for a moment. "My name is Mahiri." He bowed one more, raising his large chocolatey maned head as he pulled himself back up again. He licked Bakhti again, looking down to the two cubs and nudging his son with a grin. "How have you been, love?" He asked Bakthi. "I couldnt leave you alone, so I toko a small walk and made it my duty to find you..." His grin widened, as he sat down and wound his big paws around his son with a masculine purr. Kimaria She paused to glance up at her mother and Mchele, glassy eyes tracing over them. It seemed her brother didn't know what it meant either, but it wasn't too long before mama explained.
"Qwween." She said, moving to glance up at Sarabi once more. So this lioness was in charge of them too? Like a second mama? Oh so it made sense! They would be safer now because they had more parents to take care of them, this did mean no more sneaking away...but perhaps she could use the opportunity to hone her stealth skills.
Her eyes then snapped up at the sounds of approaching footsteps, her body momentarily finding a hideaway behind 'Sabi's' hind leg until she realised who it was. "Daddy!" She squeaked cheerfully, scrambling over to sit between his forepaws and turned to beam up at the others. However she caught the more serious look in Sarabi's face and lowered herself a little, ears and tail drooping. "D-daddy not part of pride?" She looked almost tearful. `Zoe Mahiri licked the top of her head, the soft smile remaining on his face as he watched her sweet reaction. She was so cute, and so adorable. He was blessed with the most beautiful family, and it was the most precious think to him, the best thing that had ever happened in his life, was Bakhti and the cubs birth.
He lowered his head to meet hers. "Awww, dont worry Kiburi..." His tone was soft and delicate, quite an acheivement from a male of course, who was usually heard roaring and speaking in his usual deep voice. "Hopefully Daddy will be part of the pride soon, If Mufasa lets him stay." He touched her nose with his. "I will never leave you, I promise." Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti smiled happily at her mate and watched her two little cubs, they were so small and innocent. She purred happily. She listened to Sarabi as she said the same thing to Mahiri as she had said to her. "Dont worry Mahiri, I am sure Mufasa will be around somewhere!" She smiled and laid back down again pulling Kiburi towards her to give her a bath.
She was however slightly sad that neither of Sarabi's cubs were around. She wanted her children to make friends while young so they could grow up with them, have friends for life sort of thing! She had so many dreams for her cubs, some may have been a little ambitious! DDB Mchele only paused in his nuzzling and pawing for his mother's attention when he saw his father arrive. The sight of a large adult male lion would normally be enough to send him cowering, or at least a pair of flattened ears, but he recognised his father immediately. "Daaad!" He squeaked, happily, although he was put out when Bakhti got to her feet and disturbed his spot between her front paws.
He ploped back on his hunches and listened to the adults. Five cubs huh? He didn't know how many five was... but it sounded like lots. Wonder what they were like? Hmmm... and Sa-sabi was a queen so they had to do as she said? Even his dad had to bob at her and ask to stay. That was kinda mean... how come his mum and sister and him could stay without asking? Or maybe they had to as well. Hopping out from his father's paws, which had been wrapped around him as Mahiri had laid down, he creeped up with a new cautiousness. Pausing, he mimiced his dad and dipped his head, looking up at the queen. "Can I ask Moofasah too? I want to stay as well..." Kimaria She purred as her father gave her some attention and the small smile returned to her maw as she glanced up into his dark eyes. She trusted him with no question and it never occurred to her joyfully, her cheering cut off as her mother pulled her aside to wash her.
She gave a small squeak of surprise and wriggled, trying to get away from the attentions her mother was giving her. There was no time for a bath. Mchele was right! They all needed permission! "Me too!" She chirped up between wriggling, "me want stay too, see Moosie lion." She gave them another small smile. Eyes leaving their little group to locate the said one. Was he the one who was going to be their second daddy?
Her eyes caught sight of two reddish cubs sort of close by, but not close enough so that they could speak. She recognised one of them instantly however. Rocky! The one who had been all grumpy and liked to kick pebbles about. She covered her muzzle with a paw to smother a giggle. That fiery cub had been weird. Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti noticed the two red cubs also and smiled, "They your two aswell then Sarabi?" she spoke softly looking at the two red cubs. She then turned to her children, "Kiburi and Mchele neither of you need to ask to join as I am part of the pride, your father isn't so he needs to!" She smiled happily at them and then picked Kiburi up to wash her again. She smiled wondering if Kiburi was getting embarressed and that was why she didn't want a wash. DDB Not understanding why dad needed permission and he and Kiburi didn't, the little mottled male looked back at Sarabi with a questioning gaze. Well... if mum said so. But still, he wanted to be sure. This pride thing sounded good if mum was in it and dad wanted to be too. "Kay...." He said, sounding unsure still.
At the sound of his sister's solf giggling, he tilted his head. Mchele hadn't met the red cub that Kiburi had. But looking round, since everyone else was glancing in that direction, he spotted the two reddish figures. Sa-sabi's five cubs? He pondered, listening to his mother ask about them. Oh wait she said two, so five must mean more than that many. Were they coming this way? He decided to wait near his parents and see.
Flicking his tail back and forth a little, he waited impatiently for Bakhti to finish washing Kiburi. Why his pale sibling wriggled and fought to get away he didn't know. Bath time was nice and if Kiburi would just sit still it would be his turn quicker! `Zoe Mahiri smiled gently. "Now Mchele and Kiburi, be good for your mother whilst I go and catch us something to eat." He nuzzled Bakhti breifly, licking at her cheek and padding off silently. "I'll talk to Mufasa If i see him after the hunt..." He nodded. He was a little nervous about meeting the King. He would be bigger than him, and so powerful. He expected him too be very intimidating indeed. Paws beating against the dust he sped up slightly, running for a while until he came into contact with the long dry grass of the savannah.
His head instantly rose to inspect the herd of zebra. A rather large one would do, seeing as there were a few more mouths around, and he expected them to be rather hungry. Eyeing a healthy-looking female, he shrank closer to the ground, atemping to hide his huge chocolately mane. Edging closer, he put most of his weight against his back legs and sprang to pounce the zebra with a swift movement. Although he wasnt the best hunter, and clumsy at times. So it could take a while. Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti finished washing Kuburi and let her go off if she wanted before taking up Mchele and giving him his bath. She finished them both rather quickly before looking out over the lands. A lion caught her eye and it wasn't her mate. Her face suddenly lit up as she turned to her cubs, "You can come with me, stay or go off and explore!" She didn't however wait for an answer as she knew that Sarabi would watch over them if they just stayed where they were.
She bounded off the rock and headed towards the water pretty quickly, stopping everynow and then incase one of her children had decided to follow her. Her last stop was not too far from Amari and the little cub. She had stopped for the reason that there was a small cub with him, it was the wrong colour to be his and Maawios, unless... no it wouldn't have happened. She just sat and watched, her tail swaying from side to side. It had been a very long time since she had seen her brother and now alot of things were different, apart from her hate for Asi. DDB Mchele danced out of the way as Mahiri got up and headed off to hunt. He gave a little mew at his request to behave for his mother. Of course! Mchele was always good! Or at least the bad things they didn't know about.... Like the occassional shove he'd give Kib when she got too wriggly at night. But how else was he supposed to sleep?
But at last Bakhti had finished Kib's bath and it was his turn! He hopping inbetween her forepaws happily and sat still. Well, mostly still except for his own little paws that kneaded constantly at the ground. All too soon it was finish though and then his mother headed off, leaving them with the choice to stay or follow or explore. Which did he want to do, Mchele pondered. He followed Bakhti a few steps, looking out over the land spread before him and twisting his ears towards the two red figures. The little yellow one hiding in the rocks remained undetected. Kimaria First daddy left, off to hunt whilst his family remained on Pride Rock with Sarabi and then after her wash she moved to sit beside the queen once more, purring lightly. She had been a little embarrassed at being washed in front of everyone but it did feel much better now.
Her blue eyes sparkled with happiness as she turned to watch her brother have hsi turn. He seemed to be enjoying it. Sticking her tongue out at him she moved to stand up once more, small tail swishing back and forth.
Then mama decided that she wanted to go too and with a small mew she tried to scurry after her. She probably would have continued if she hadn't seen two small red cubs heading in their direction. In the lead...a red female who looked rather energetic, and following her was...Rocky! She had forgotten his proper name since it was a rather complicated one, and seeing as how he didn't like to be called Red, a name based on his strange ways seemed more appropriate.
She moved forward a couple of steps and mewed again, lowering herself to watch. She was tired now and she had a feeling it wouldn't be long before it was time for a nap. So many exciting things had happened that was for sure.

Meeting Older Brother Oct 16 05Kimaria Her brother was declaring an adventure and a wild red female was acting all mean. Kibu was a little afraid and had until this time held back, eyes wide and fearful. Her mother had gone, and so had her father and now her brother was walking away.
Her small body trembled and she turned to gaze at Sarabi was was looking at another cub. One of her own? She sniffed and gave a small mewl then pulling herself up onto her paws she dashed over to sit just behind her brother.
"W-wait." She stuttered as she tried to catch her breath, gazing down at his tail and then at the flying creatures her brother was looking at. What were they? She sniffed and then gazed up at the fiery twins, a small tilt of her head showing nothing but curiosity. Was the other one an intruder or a friend? She hadn't seemed very nice before.
"Mchele..." She lowered her voice to a whisper. "What going on?" She too seemed unaware of everything apart from the twins and her brother. DDB When the loud noise of Danzi was heard, Mchele panicked. It wasn't often he'd met other bigger lions and this one was loud, and jumpy and scary! He rushed around to put the other two pridelander and rouge cubs between him and the bigger lion. He wasn't going too close to that thing!!
It was a huge relief when his sister arrived though. Despite it not being one of his parents as he might have wished, at least she was someone he knew. Her question made him think though. "Umm... I dunno." He whispered back. He really wasn't sure what the others were up to. Arguing about something he thought. Or was it a game? They'd said some things about 'protectors' and 'royals' but then that bug had fallen out of the sky and distracted him from the rest.
And now there was a tension in the air, the red male cub wasn't well and the other red female looked ready to fight, not to mention the other big scary lion! It was too much for Mchele and he quickly changed his mind about wanting to be here.... he wanted his mum and a pitiful little mewl grew in his throat. Remove ~ Beckikins What ever it was that caught Bakhti's attention she wasn't quite sure but she heard a squeak not too far off and a roar that sounded somewhat like Danzi. Great all she needed was Danzi scaring his younger brother! She sighed and mumbled an apology to both Amari and Maawio before heading to where she found a small red cub wandering off another cub, Danzi, Mchele and Kiburi. There may have been other's though she didn't notice. She saw her children and that is what made her happy, all three of her children. She looked at Danzi and smiled before looking at her two younger ones. Then she took in the others. Nothing looked wrong, maybe she was panacking again. It was most likely the case but either way she worried about her children. Andrani Still very much propped upsidedown against a bush, Danzi attempted to focus his eyes. "Dun mind me... Beetles.. Spiining world... Can someone stop the world? I wanna get off it..." He fell over, tongue flopping out a bit as he squeezed his eyes shut. He was gonna feel that crash into the bush later, he just knew it. His nose twitched as a familiar smell hit it - It smelled like Bakhti! Still trying to focus, he sat up a bit, finally at least able to stop wobbling. With a shake of his head, he finally focused his eyes, then smiled at the sight of Bakhti. "Mom!" Then he looked at Mchele. "Oh... Oops, sorry... Beetles, crawling all over me... I couldn't help it.." He rubbed the back of his neck with a paw almost sheepishly. DDB Bakhti wasn't imagining things at all nor being panicky, although there wasn't anything serious there had been a little cry of alarm from her youngest son. It began again but stopped shortly after as Mchele spotted his mother come into veiw. From there it turning into a happy mewing and he bounded over to her, rubbing against her leg.
He wasn't too concerned about Kiburi. She was near and mum could take care of her too if she wanted. And he didn't care if the other cubs saw him getting comforted by his mum either. He was young and it was allowed as far as he knew. That's what mums were for right?
But then there was a cry of 'Mom!' and it didn't come from him... or Kiburi... who was it? And who were they taking to? This was his mum! He looked behind him and saw the scary lion coming over and pause in front of him and Bakhti. Instantly he hid behind her foreleg and peered around at Danzi warily. "Mum mum!! He's going to eat me!" He cried as he cowered. "He roared and tried to attack me!" Ok, so it was a bit of an exaggeration. Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti smiled down at Mchele and licked him before laughing a little. "Mchele. Danzi wouldn't hurt a fly!" She smiled and turned to Danzi, "How are you?" She then turned to her two cubs again, "Kiburi, Mchele this is your older brother Danzi." She smiled at them both and winked at Danzi, this was the firsttime she could remember them meeting and well it had to happen at some point. HEr family had to stick together and not "eat" each other. Kimaria The noisy large lion caused Kiburi's fur to stand on end, her small body fluffed up - making her look almost twice her normal size. Slate-blue eyes widened and she turned to gaze at her brother, the small cry in his throat distinguishable as his.
A sudden desire to protect her sibling arose in her, but what could a weakling cub do anyway? She would never be as strong as other's her age and she despised that. Ears drooped and then her mother's scent caught on the air. She was returning! Cheering up instantly - for mama made everything right - she turned to gaze up at them.
They had another brother! Well this was news to her. She moved cautiously to hide behind her mother, nestiling her body against the large hind leg and peering up curiously. "Mama, he weird." Her small nose wrinkled and she stuck out her tongue, then with a small huff she turned just in time to see Rocky moving away.
She let out a squeaky cry of excitement and moved slowly towards him. Was he okay? Tilting her head to the side and blinking at him with curious and innocent eyes she followed after the red male.
"S'cuse me Roc-- uhh...you 'kay?" She stumbled over the nickname, not sure whether this was the time or place to use the gentle teasing. It didn't seem like the male appreciated it much anyway. He probably wouldn't like being asked such a thing either, but he was too grumpy and needed cheering up. Did she have the patience to do such a thing? Andrani Danzi's ears lifted happily as he looked down at Mchele and Kiburi. "Hi there. Don't worry, I don't eat other lions." He chuckled. "I don't imagine lion flesh tastes that great, never tried it, no desire TO try it..." He lay down, trying to look as non-threatening as possible to the cubs, even going so far as to roll on his back a bit. "Mom's right, you know, I wouldn't hurt a fly... Well, not on purpose." Even he'd stepped on a bug or two in his youth, but that couldn't really be helped sometimes, now could it? Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti smiled at her three children, "Right Mchele and Kiburi be nice to Danzi and Danzi be nice to them!" She winked at Danzi showing that she knew he would be anyway. "Need to make sure that you get on after all you are family!" She giggled a little before licking at both Mchele and Kiburi and smiling at Danzi again. "At least nothing major was happening to either of you. DDB Mchele leaned into his mother's licks, reassured by the feeling of her warm tongue on his head and her leg that he hid behind. Even so, his eyes didn't leave this new 'brother' and he looked rather suspicious... "Older brother?" He tried to see the logic in it, it was very odd after having considered just mum, dad and Kiburi to be his family all his short life.
Tilting his head, he listened to Danzi's words and his mother's encoragements. Creeping out slowly, he paused to see if Kib would follow and back him up. But no, she was off after that red little cub. Well... good luck to her. That 'Rocky' or whoever he was didn't seem the friendly type. And compared to that, a new brother was far more interesting.
When Danzi rolled on his back, looking rather playful, the white-socked cub causiously approached him. His little nose sniffing as he picked up the older male's scent, he moved closer ever so slowly until he was only a few inches away. "Hello Danzi..... umm... why were you jumping around? And being so loud?" Danzi might have mentioned the reason before but then he'd been too worried to listen. Andrani The adolescent blinked, then remembered what led to his tumble into the bushes. "Oh, that? Beetles were crawling all over me. Couldn't very well squash them, and apparently it was a NEST of them or something..." He watche Mchele while upside-down, tail curling just a bit.

Story of the Firekin Nov 16th '05Kimaria Kiburi had paused to lower her head and sniff at a tuft of grass, her small nostrils working noisily as she tried to locate her mother and Mchele. Where were they both? Perhaps still with the noisy lion?
She felt a little lost that was for sure and she didn't really like it.
So opening her jaws she gave a loud mewling sound and continued to do so, padding clumsily across the grass as she went. Her sides shook with each cry, her ears pinned back and tail moving to curl around a hind leg. Where was everybody?
Knowing only where Sabi lay the little cub began to head in the direction of priderock, mewling loudly as she went.
She wanted mama. Andrani The orange male rolled over and he rose up, ears flicking towards the sound of a cub crying. He remembered that sound well... He and his sisters had made it after their mother had been taken... He'd not made it in a long time by now, but it still tugged at his heart to hear it. Of course, he had no idea how things worked in the Pridelands, but the cub was crying... He padded after, gently calling her. "Hey, there... If you're lost, you can follow me.." He offered as warm a smile as he could. "I was heading in this direction, anyway, and besides... If you get tired, you can easily have a lift!" He couldn't help chuckle at the idea. A cub, riding on the back of an adolescent... It'd make quite the sight to see coming toward Pride Rock, wouldn't it! Green eyes glanced back Mchele. "Come on, Mchele, shall we head up to Pride Rock? I think that's where Mom went..." He smiled at the cub. He was a cute little guy. He'd be getting chased by lionesses all over when he got older! Kimaria Her ears twitched back at the sound of a voice, and she paused mid cry to gaze about her. Eyes travelled upwards above the line of grass and into the eyes of the noisy lion. The one who was her brother apparently. His orange fur was beautiful and she sniffed lightly, familiarising herself with his scent.
"A lift?" She squeaked, moving to stand beside his larger forepaws and peering up at him.
Apparently Mchele was here too, and with a flick of her small tail she raised her head and sniffed out his scent, or tried to anyway.
"Mmmmchele!" She mewled, glancing about for him with her slate-blue eyes. It was time to find mama. Remove ~ Beckikins She waited for Suku to follow but before that she walked to the edge of the rock and looked out. She could see Danzi and her children so called to them in a roar like way. She smiled as she looked back to Suku, a young cub like playfulness on her face. She sat down, her tail moving in the dust that layed a little on the rocks. She waited for whoever dcided to get here first, whether it be Suku or her children she didn't mind. She was happy. Andrani Danzi waited patiently for his little brother, tail flicking, looking all the bit inviting to follow. He smiled a bit, still finding both his sibblings to be quite cute. Little balls of pale gold and just plain pale fluff... His ears flicked a bit, listening to the sounds of the Pridelands. So different compared to the lands of rogues! His heart swelled at the thought that he was on his way into a pride, at long last! And he was part of a family... The orange adolescent was a very happy lion, that was for sure! DDB "Oh." The little cub looked at his mother wandering off and then at his older brother and blinked. Ok... well this guy was weird. Fancy sitting on a beetle nest? But it did kinda explain why the bugs kept getting flicked off and sent flying through the air.
However, any further questions about that were interupted by a small cry. He had heard it too and instantly recognised it as his sister. "Kiiiib!" He turned to the source of the noice and called back to her. Danzi had heard it too and had gone to investigate so Mchele trotted along after him to see what he would do.
Sure enough, there was Kiburi looking lost and sad. What had happened with the red cub? Well he was no where to be seen now and it looked as though the trio was going to head off back up to Pride Rock. That sounded ok to him.
"Here I am Kib! Yup, ok. Let's go find her." He nodded and followed along... although why did Kiburi get to have a ride on Danzi's back? He wanted a turn too... Kimaria She waited patiently to be picked up, quite looking forward to a ride. She was still weaker of stamina than normal cubs and all that mewing and walking had taken its toll upon her.
She drew in a shaky breath and leaned against Danzi's foreleg, yawning a little. Where was her brother?
Then he appeared and not a moment too soon! Her white-nosed sibling was here after all! The pale cub gave her brother a mischievious smile and catching her breath she pounced towards him. "Mmmchele! There you are!" She mewed as she raised a paw to bat at his striped tail. "Thought you lost too." It seemed she had regained her confidence now that she knew her family were close by. Andrani The male chuckled while watching, then settled down on his belly. "Well, climb on up. You want a lift, too, Mchele?" His tail relaxed a bit, ears trained on the two cubs as he waited patiently. Perhaps growing up without much exposure to older males had been a good thing. He'd turned out so gentle, only having kept contact most often with lionesses. Though watching cubs made him realise - Wow, he'd been that small once, too! And now he was so big compared to them! It brought a slight smile to his face as he thought 'Grow up big, you two, be big and strong!' Kimaria Kiburi mewled and with a small nod of her head clambered up onto his back, positioning herself just behind his shoulders. She shifted her position so she was stretched out across his back, forelegs hanging over one side and hnd legs over the other so she wanted fall of sideways. There was always the danger of slipping off but she decided she'd worry about that if it happened.
With shining eyes and a cheerful grin she twitched forth both of her ears and regarded her brother. "Mmmmchele! Hurry!"
She was impatient and wanted to get back to mama, and the scent of Bakhti on the breeze made her even more fidgety.
She turned to gaze at the orange lion lying on the ground and stuck her tongue out at him. "If we stay small noisy lion give rides!" Remove ~ Beckikins Just as Bakhti had tensed to go she saw another lioness, a chocolate coloured one. She hadn't seen her before but it didn't take long to click. She looked at Suku and smiled, "You going to introduce me to your mate then?" She had taken a huge risk saying it like that, her kids were coming towards them so that wouldn't be so bad if she made a new friend, she wasn't great at doing that anymore. Lightning Shadow X The large lion had run behind Bahkti, only to skid to a halt as she asked the question. He was to intent on meeting the new cub's, who appeared to be growing steadily, he had barely noticed his mate in the rush of being back home. "Oh, yes, well maybe later, she's busy trying to find the King right now, but I'm sure you'll get along great with her!"
He was too optimistic to feel any bad vibes from either lioness, he just wanted to meet his old friend's new children, a big smile on his maw. Suku had missed this place so much, he couldn't wait to see everyone and was a little impatient about the whole thing aswell as he awaited Bahkti to continue onward's toward's the young members. Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti smiled "Ok then lets go!" She started to run off again rather quickly till she reached her children. She licked at Danzi's face, nuzzled Mchele and then removed Kiburi from Danzi's back and placed gently on the ground. "Kiburi, Mchele, this is my old friend Sukutu, be nice to him! He is older then I am!" She laughed a little and winked at her children before sitting down beside danzi, behind her now not-so-small cubs, looking at Suku with a huge wide smile on her face. Andrani A purr escaped Danzi as he sat up, settling next to Bakhti, a smile upon his own face. Kaburi, Mchele, and Bakhti were his family, the only family he now knew of. Well, there was Mahiri, but he just needed to meet him something propper to fully consider him part of his family. He watched Sukutu, wondering if there was some part of him that remembered the lion. He remembered meeting at least ONE adult male, but that was so long ago... And here he was, an adolescent! He felt so big... DDB Mchele gave a little jump away at Kiburi's playful batting. She was always doing that, but at least this time he wasn't trying to sleep so it wasn't so bad. He trotted around Danzi's other side and watched as the older lion lifted his sister onto his back. It looked rather high! Not as high as Mum's maybe... but close enough.
"Me too me too!!" He chirped and danced around the older male's legs. However it seemed their trip to Pride Rock and to find Bakhti was too slow and their mother came bounding up with a much larger male on her heels. It wasn't his dad and Mchele instinctly cowered, despite his mum's nuzzle of reassurance.
He didn't run behind his mother though, her presense was a comfort and so too was his new-found brother's, whom he was being to take a liking to. He sat down close to Danzi's leg and peered up at the new adult male. A friend of mum's? She had so many! Would he have some too one day? Lightning Shadow X Sukutu's eye's widened immensly at the sight of the cub's, but his smile grew aswell, he turned to Bakhti and smiled back at her before turning his head to look at the cub's and Danzi, taking a moment to recognise their scents and faces.
This place was gonna get over run, especialy when Koho and Mwali came with the new born's, but I suppose it would be for the best if there where more populating the land's.
At the sound of the little pale creamy and orange female, he blunk and smiled softly at her, lowering his body till he lay down infront of the cub's, so he didn't look too big and scary to them. He himself knew how terrifying an unknown adult male was. "Yeah" He said softly to her. "I've been her friend for a while now...it's nice to see she's started a family"
It was nice, Bahkti deserved the best, she was kind and nice, plus he knew it wouldn't be a matter of time till she hooked her claws into a male, he'd have to meet her mate after he introduced Bahkti to Jasiri. However at the way the little female tried to pronounce his name he let a soft chuckle go through him and nod.
"Well since you now know my name, do you mind if I know yours?" He asked in the same kind, soft toned voice he always had with little kid's now adays, he was just getting so mature and fatherly over things. Kimaria The male lay down and the little cub moved forwards a little, a couple of steps at a time. She paused to glance round at her brother and sniffed quietly before turning back to regard the older male.
He was huge and he had the most fuzzy mane she had ever seen! He would make a good pillow that was for sure.
"I'm Kiburi, but fluffy lion call me Kib if likes." She was getting better with speech now, her words flowing more smoothly than they once had. "If you know mama for a while, where you been all this time?" She spoke with a twitch of her pale ears.
She moved forwards more cautiously and stood up on her hind legs, paws resting upon a great brown shoulder as she pressed her nose into Sukutu's fuzzy mane. Lightning Shadow X The older male smiled warmly at the younger female, watching her grow more courageous and daring infront of this intimidating male she just met, she was gonna be such a sweetheart, what was her thinking, she was one.
Sukutu purred softly at the name, fluffy lion? Oh well, he gussed he'd have to get used to some names now that he had a mane you could lose a honey badger in. But he enjoyed being around cubs, it made him feel like an older brother or...a father, but it was a fatherly feeling, maybe soon he would be a dad...yeah...but he'd be a better one then his real father ever was.
At the question he snapped back to reality, one of his chocolate brown ears flicking softly. "I've been travelling with some friends...very far away in a dangerous place, where very dangerous lions are...but then I came home...and I'm very glad to be back..." He didn't want to go into the details of death and the plague and everything, seeing as she was still too young. The large male gave a small 'oof' sound under his breath as a pair of small light orange paws placed themselve's on his brown shoulder. Kimaria "Traffling?" She tried the pronounciation of the strange word and tilted her head, smiling at the male lion from her upright position, tail swishing behind her. "Dangerous place?" That sounded sort of exciting, and Kiburi knew she could go for some excitement right now.
"Kib want Fluffy to tell her bout this place." She lowered her paws from his shoulder and padded round to gaze up at his face, a look of curiosity glazing her eyes. She loved to hear stories, espeically true ones.
"Was Fluffy scared of bad lions? Did you fight!?" She almost bounced with excitement. DDB Watching carefully, Mchele let Kib do the approaching and testing of this new male. Perhaps not the bravest thing or the nicest thing to let his sister risk herself first. But hey! He wasn't going too close if he could help it.
But the other male lion seemed nice enough. What was his name? Zookootoo? Well he hadn't eated his siter yet and so Mchele decided he might get a little closer. "I'm Mchele!" He suddenly piped up and took a couple of cautious steps closer. He stopped still close to Danzi though, one front paw raised in uncertainty. Andrani The orange male watched the two cubs, amused that they'd sought to hide under him even though Bakhti was right there. But it was their choosing.. Ears flicked towards Sukutu, he smiled a bit as the cubs introduced themselves. He was distracted, though, when his hair got in his face, tossing his head back to get it out so he could see. It was starting to get to be a problem, this hair of his... DDB The flick of mane by Danzi caused Mchele to whip his head around at the movement. Instinctively he leap up on his back legs to swat at it, his claws retracted though. "Whoah! You have big manes! Like dad. Is mine going to grow too? I don't have one!" He stopped and lowered his head to scratch the very small tuff of longer fur on the top of his head with one of his hind legs. Remove ~ Beckikins Bakhti just smiled and watched her children with Sukutu. She laid down and licked at her paw, a smile stuck to her face. She looked up at danzi and winked before turning back to Suku. He looked happy around the youngsters, maybe one day and he and his mate would have their own little ones, they would be adorable, that was certain. Lightning Shadow X The large lion smiled warmly at both the cub's, well, they where bigger then cub's, but still, they where so playful and cute. His soft violet eye's watched the two before he relaxed some and watched over both of them. At the little male suddenly popping out of nowhere he chuckled. "It's nice to meet you Mchele" But, at the younger male's awe in Suku's big fluffy mane, he chuckled more and nodded. "Yes, one day you will have a mane like me, maybe even fluffier" Sukutu then turned to Kiburi and smiled. "Alright, alright, calm down Kib', I'll tell you all about the lands I went too...now sit down and listen close..." Suku' never had been much of a story teller, but the way his mother...his real mother, had told them, he couldn't help but let his ear's flatten a bit. "Me and some friends, journied(sp?) far away from here, where the ground is made of sand as golden as any Pridelander...and the sky seems to stretch on and on forever... One of my friends, Mwali, came from this land, he found love here...but he had to go back and check on his family...you see... His father was king of the Firekin, a group of lions with pelts as red as the blood that flows through our veins, heck even redder...but when his father died, his brother took over...only for him to die from the plague... The plague was a disease, it came here once, but now it's gone, gone for good, it took a few lives from the Firekin...and that meant he had to go back..." Suku watched them, seeing if they where getting all of this. "Now, his mate, my foster mother, went with him and so did I and many others and we where very afraid, Firekin didn't like other lions being in their home...they where too proud...Mwali wasn't like that, because his father never taught him the way's of their pride... But we didn't have to fight, two lions, Kimeti and Kinja, we already knew...especialy Kinja... You see...in this world, there are more then the ancestors, ofcourse Pridelander's don't believe in the God's...but me, being a former rogue...learnt things...and the way I hear it...Kinja, used to be a Pridelander, called Kimondo and one day she fell in love with Mwali's brother. Now she knew he'd never fall in love with her, because she wasn't from his pride, so she asked a god, I don't know which mind you, to change her colour...so she could be with him forever... Kimeti is her son... And because those two and Kimeti's sisters where the only one's left...we wen't back...and that's all there is..." The large lion took a small gasp of breath from his story, sighing a little before the sound of his name, he turned his large head, eye's widening at the form of his adopted 'little' sister. She wasn't looking little anymore. Still laying down, ofcourse, sitting up a bit, making sure she didn't hurt the cub's, he kept his eye's focused on Maawio. "...M-Maawio?" Kimaria At Suku's comment of Mchele's mane she couldn't help but glance back at her golden brother, imagining the small tuft of fur as a great mane that wreathed his white-nosed face. He'd look really weird, but she was growing to like manes, a shame that she wouldn't have one!
Then newly dubbed 'Fluffy' started speaking and she sensed a story coming on, so she settled down too, looking up at him in wide-eyed anticipation. Story!!! She nodded and brought both of her pale hears forward, attention solely on the male lion.
As he went on with his story her eyes widened further, sand as golden as the lions here, as golden as her brother!? It sounded like a truly beautiful place, and one she suddenly craved to see for herself. However she held her tongue and listened to the rest, noting down the name Mwali for later reference.
They had fur that was red? Just like Rocky did! She nodded again, intently listening and hanging upon every word. The plague sounded scary however, and her fur bristled up around her shoulders at the very though of death caused by something that was impossible to fight. Atleast she had not been around during that time, else she might have caught it and died too!
Mwali sounded like a really nice kind of lion, but the pride he had come from sounded intriguing, their pride and strength awe inspiring to the youngster. She had not yet learned what true fear was and was naive to it, however for such a large lion to be scared must show something of their strength.
Then there was a mention of Gods and she gave a slight tilt of her head, wanting to question but deciding against it, she'd keep a hold of her curiosity for now. This lioness Kinja sounded intriguing, she had her fur changed with magics so that she could live within the pride? That sounded like a lot of fun!
Then when it was time for the story to end and another lion came into view she slunk back between Danzi's forepaws, mind whirring with a hundred thoughts. How far was this place? Was it really as dangerous as people said?
She was in mid-thought when she heard her father's voice and with a small mewling sound of delight she skipped forwards, tail and head held high. "Daddy, daddy, daddy! Fluffy lion tell stories! Where you been? We go hunting? Kib hungry..." She glanced to her mother expectantly, never having seen her in action before. She'd heard whisperings of her mother's skill at the hunt and her desire to see it for herself made her tremble with anticipation.
She wanted to learn to hunt! Be big and strong like mama!
