So I was talking to my boyfriend about how in some of my other guilds everyone is suspecting that this is the end times of the end of times. And how we still want to do things before the end. Sorry this isn't the whole conversation. I had to reboot and we started going off about the Bush administration but this is a general idea of what was said. Please comment on your thoughts smile
"Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: mm spicy Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: anyway...immenent? Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: immenent = like veeeeeery soon like to the point where if you aren't already prepeared it's pointless Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: alright than smart guy, than when do you think its gonna be? Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: cuz everyone already thinks this is the end of the end times Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: *shrugs* from what i understand we'll have some signs before it happens like the fish dying, and the rivers turning to blood, and the moon turning red... right before it happens the sun will turn black, someone will die as a martyr for God, and then the last thing that happens is the Guf becomes empty and a baby is born without a soul Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: those could be symbolism though. fish dying: what lovely wars and tsunamis we're having. blood: have you checked how many people are dying lately due to wars and crimes? moon/sun: good ol government. martyr: some people like to say the pope. no clue what the Guf is. baby born without a soul: all those dang abortions and people saying theyre born gay Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: i take it all as concrete Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: the Guf is the hall of souls Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: where baby's souls come from before they are born Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: they descend from the Guf and only sparrows can see the souls, and that's why they sing, but the sparrows stop singing when the Guf becomes empty Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: why sparrows of all birds? Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: dunno Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: which is why i asked Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: earthquakes will happen too Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: as if theyre not already Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: *wonders when St Helens is finally gonna blow* Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: waaaaaaaay worse than anything we've ever heard of Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: *hiccup* Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: there will be total war, brothers killing brothers while cats and dogs live together in peace... total chaos Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: *tries to think of rome, max, and spooky getting along and laughs her head off* i think this will happen after romeo dies haha Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: lol that's from ghostbusters, but i love that line Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: lol Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: i dont know, i still wanna do a lot. maybe thats selfish though and thinking too worldly. no clue Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: but, as youd say ( ) Vienna waits so maybe im just a busybody tard Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: there's still a lot i wanna do too Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: my 6H has a lot of ears to please Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: its funny...looking at everything on the news youd think everythings chaos already, but if you read magazines and go in depth theres still a lot going on trying to relieve everyone of the chaos Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: like, for example, i just read today how many people are getting involved with the tsunami relief. everybody makes it out like...gah brb Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: sorry, moms taking a shower so i had to rewind jamies tape for him Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: anyway everybodys making it out that theres absolutely no help from anybody for things like the UK's CED or the AIDS epidemic in Africa Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: but thats just cuz our country is so screwed up because bush is being sorta like hitler in the way that he wants to make every country like ours Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: that's why i don't like organized religion as of lately Danielle - I should've given you a reason to stay says: you sound like my mom Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: if you get a lot of people together that have the same ideas bad things happen, it's just how things work Benjamin - How wonderful life is, now you're in the world. says: if you think about it that's how wars start"

You can just use CTRL+F and replace the uber-long SNs with something shorter, to make it easy to read...or use Bold or something. sweatdrop
The world might end one day, but not in my lifetime, I suspect. 3nodding

Remember that the "end of the world" could easily mean a new world order, where there is peace after a time of chaos and great turmoil. That's some people's take(mine, as well) on it. I don't suspect it happening anytime soon, but maybe in couple hundred years, since we have been having a lot of chaos recently...
Also, if you read Revalations, its not hard to think the whole thing is metaphorical. Seriously, check it out. It's either almost COMPLETLY metaphorical, or somethin' funny's going on.

If the end comes in the form of humans ceasing to exist, there will be nothing that I can do about it. So, why should I worry about it?

Well I don't think the end is near as the possibility of us all dying is small, even if all humans died it would not be "the end" because other life still exists. If by the end you mean destruction of our planet I believe that the goverment would put alot of funding into NASA so we could simply move to another planet. If you mean in a religiouse point of view I probably could not help you as I don't know much about that part of christian belief.
My religion = There is no end. The soul will continue to live on forever.

But, if you don't know if the problem can be solved, you must worry. Why? If you don't know if the problem can be solved, there are only two options, it can be solved, or it cannot be solved. All you have to do is figure out if it can or cannot be solved. If you can't figure out if it can be solved, treat it as if it cannot be solved. Thus, there is still no need to worry.

Hmmm...this is interesting. You have a point about treating it as if it can't be solved but some of us are naturally stupid (im referring to myself) and want to find a way to solve it no matter what.
