Sometime in Summer.06 - Jan retrieves the relic and indulges in a discourse upon parenthood and duality as reality with Risika, apparent caretaker of a Fantasy-Reality pair.
Sometime not much later.06 - Raven seeks Jan out, hoping she might know something important in regards to her own recently received rock. It rains.

Race: Half Daydream, half Mary Sue [human]. All crazy.
Age: Unknown, somewhere between fifteen and forty six, in all likelihood.
Gender: Female.
Eye Color: Gray.
Hair: Unknown, she likes changing and/or dying it, but usually some shade of black or brown.
Skin Tone: Caucasian, basically. A little tanned - probably has a sock tan.
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: *AHEM* stare (130-ish)
Predominant Features: Jan manifests feathered wings on her head when she's been cleaning up mostly 'evil' messes and leathery wings when she's been dealing with 'good' ones. Most of the time, she doesn't have either. She also wears glasses without lenses, no one knows why. Probably because no one has asked.
General Appearance: Jan appears in two modes of dress, her uniform or casual. Her 'civvies' are generally baggy, old and worn for pure comfort. The uniform is a tuxedo, fitted for the female form. Usually carrying a broom when in uniform.
Relationship Status: Single.
Parents: Sir North and his Ladywife Evarieneslia Dragon Wintersong
Siblings: None to speak of.
Hobbies: Books - reading, writing and collecting them; hiding; frolicking; being a bother.

Criminal Record: Disturbing the peace on multiple occasions, sabotage of Great Works, thievery, teasing babies.
Abilites: As Janitor of the Universe, one forsakes all previous supernatural talents. Jan was a small-fry magician before taking on the role of Janitor, but her stage and real name are both lost to history. She can sing decently well but only on week days.
Likes: Her job; forgetting what she was going to say next; comedians.
Dislikes: Stupid people; responsibility; broccoli.

History: Jan comes from the World Weekly, a metaphoric, theoretical world/plane of existence with an intensely odd population. Namely, a good number of its denizens are actually figments of imagination, or Daydreams. They are the Really Great Ideas people have such a tendency to come up with and never end up writing about, and when they're finally abandoned they make their way to the World. No one's quite sure how, that's just the way it is.
Anyway, Jan's the daughter of one of these Daydreams, one who managed to establish himself fairly well in a feudal community in the World and even developed a little beyond his original definitions. Her mother, however, was neither a natural denizen of the World nor a Daydream. She was an anamoly (though not the first of her kind) known as a Mary Sue - some postulate that Mary Sues are magnified Figments, others that they are strange hybrids of Figments and their creators. [Figment is a derogatory term for a new Daydream.] Again, no one's really sure. In any case, one particular Mary Sue and one particular Daydream came to 'love each other very much' as it might be explained to a child.
Jan grew up a fairly typical child of the World and only stumbled into her duties as Janitor of the Universe when the previous Janitor, while taking care of a rather nasty aftermath involving some romance novelist's two week fling of a Figment and an old fashioned 2D villain, was struck down in the line of action. In a sense. In any case, he was deemed by the Powers What Is to be no longer fit for duty. Unfortunately, the problem hadn't really been totally cleaned up yet and they needed a replacement, fast. Jan just happened to be checking the local help-wanted adds and just happened not to really be taking the former Janitor seriously when he said 'life-time dedication to the Powers What Is'.
Oops.
She's not really embittered, not at all - if anything, she gets a kick out of the whole Janitor business. But sometimes it is a strain only allowing oneself to get involved after everything goes to pot...
