can you lose your salvation?
PostPosted: Wed Jul 26, 2006 8:10 pm

Yes.

In Romans 8:38-39, everything is mentioned/ drawn upon except oneself.
Quote:
Romans 8:38-39 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are noted as a temple, a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Quote:
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The Holy Spirit as I assure you know is Jesus, dwelling within.
Quote:
John 14:15-18 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

When one sins they are away from God, away from salvation
Quote:
Isaiah 1:4 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

4Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

In conclusion, we ourselves are not mentioned in not being separated from God. We are a temple, where the Holy Spirit resides [if received], if we are sinful, God will not dwell within. As Sin is separation from God.

Mark 3:29 - "But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

That is the dreaded unforgivable sin above. If you are worried about committing the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit, then most likely you are not in danger of doing so.

I haven't come across any other sins in the bible being classed as "will never be forgiven."

Yes you would. Because you have then rejected God, the equivilent to sin. [and the reference to "stong Christian" can be debated, as in what the stituants are in being just that]

Sin requires death [Romans 6:23].
Quote:
Revelation 21:7-8 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

There's more to Slavation than just accept Jesus as your savior. Salvation is knowing what the cross means, knowing what it represents to you and to your generation, to lost people and saved people. It's also saying I'm repenting for the sin that has separated me from God to not return to the same sin but to move forward and try to live as Christ like as I can. And when you fell to do that sinning like you always have or just one day saying there is no God then never live for him again, yes you can go to hell. Because you aren't saved if you aren't accepting Christ. You have to pick up your cross (salvation) daily, you have to crucify your flesh daily...Not just once.

I am surprised I did not think of this verse earlier [James is one of my favorite books too xp , along with Proverbs and Isaiah]. I am a little offbeat lately sweatdrop .

Quote:
James 1:12-15 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

yes, sin=death, but not if you are saved! the price of our sin is death since adam and eve, but god gave us a way out of that, BY JESUS!!!! do you not believe god has relived us from our sins? where does it say that after you have been saved, it can be rewinded? ive only seen versus in which that say, you now have ETERNAL life!

Sin requires death, that death is Hell, according to the telling of the second death in Revelation. If sin brings the second death being Hell, I would very much consider that a rewinding [along with the mention of "backward" in Isaiah 1:4].

Do we all agree that God knows everything? If so, then consider this: God knows what is in our hearts. He knows what you would have done, had you lived. Even so, we are not saved by what we do or don't do, we are saved by God's grace alone.

Each and every person has already been saved by God's sacrifice in Christ, but if you do not accept that salvation, you fall right back into Satan's clutches. However, one sin here and there does not condemn you to firey hell. If you sin you need to repent and ask for God's forgiveness, and if you die before you can, oh well. God knows that you meant to.

ok, that is totally what i believe to, that sin can not put you into hell, if you are already saved by accepting jesus christ into your life! but they are all saying that when you sin, or dis believe in jesus it is taken away. but once you are saved, you are eternally saved!
