One song, Glory.
One song, before I go.
Glory, One song to leave behind.

Nighttime in the pridelands could possible considered a...wondorous thing. But, perhaps it was nothing of the sort when you had no one to share it with. The one you loved was gone, off flittering around the pride somewhere, and the children you had helped create seemed to despise you in every way shape and form. It was a great life to live, was it not?

If you said yes to that question, something terrible must be wrong with you. No one would want to live that life, but unfortuantly, one's fate did lie there. Pink scars danced across the back and other body parts of the rogued male who once had been so angry, so wanting to get back at life that he traded his soul to the devils themselves to learn about things he shouldn't have.

It was great he was given a second chance, was it not?

Denahi wandered down from the steep steps his new home, and off from the great rock in which a pride resided here. His sons were off somewhere, his daughter gone, his mate...who knew. The teal eye male sighed, stargazing just near Priderock.

Ezeoha was still considerably young enough that at most nights he went to bed early. Such was not the case on this night. Darkness loomed over the Pridelands, but the young juvenile's sight was keen enough to manuever him through the darkness efficiently. It had been ages since he had been home, and ever since Baridi left he visted less and less often. Ezeoha just didn't feel like he fit in. Baridi had been one of the main problems, but despite the fact that she had now disappeared he still couldn't bring himself to stay at home.

It was strange how it did not bother him that Baridi had left.

He avoided obstacle upon obstacle, finding a distinct thrill in becoming a creature of the night. It suited his mood, and certainly suited the character he wanted to be. Mysterious, deadly... Oh yeah, a perfect stud. The cub grinned, his jewelry managing not to clank together for once. He wanted stealth on his side... perfect, beautiful stealth.

The stealth didn't last long.

On his way back to his home, for reasons unknown to him (he must've travelled the path too many times), he almost ran into a lion that was almost dark enough to be the night. Ezeoha may've idolized him, but considering that his stealth mode had been broken he was quite upset. Quick red eyes glared up at the larger being. "You could watch where you're going, y'know! I'm wearing enough jewelry that it is impossible not to see me!" Oh, if only he knew who he was talking to... He'd have thrown some really explicit insults.

Light blue eyes rimmed in chocolate looked down at the 'stealthly' juvenille. He blinked. Wasn't he the one who had been sitting, and the juvenille the one who had upped and run into him? Denahi shook his head, his mane flopping over his eyes to obscur his vision. "That's not very nice of you to speak to an adult like that, Ezeoha." The adult scolded, standing as he examined the jewelry the small one was wearing.

Red...Just like the fire in the golden boy's eyes. Just like the pelt of the desert lions..the murderers.

Denahi watched his son for a minute. Not a very nice one this boy, was he?

Ezeoha tilted his head to the side, his eyes narrowing, and Denahi could predict the question before it passed through Ezeoha's teeth with a slight hiss. "How do you know my name? You can't call me by my name unless I give you permission to do. You're supposed to be an adult! You say 'Hello, I am ********, and your name is?'!"

The lion cub happily proceeded on with his tirade. "You can't tell me what is nice and what is not! You're not my mother, and I don't even think you're supposed to be in here! Go away before I tell somebody!" The cub bowed his head, bearing his teeth, puffing up his fur, and over all tried to look mean and nasty when it was a very hard thing to do for someone his age and size. Besides, the jewelry just set everything off during this situation.

He'd have to ask for some moody jewelry from his mother.

Vile mouth for such a young boy, was it not.

"No, I am not your mother, nor do I think your mother would like that tone you speak to when addressing someone, especially those older and frankly more capable of doing things." Denahi smirked. This was his son, that was for sure. As Ezeoha went into hostile mode to the extreme, the adult rogue pridelander rolled his eyes. "Quit that," He said, prodding the smaller figure with a large paw of his.

"In fact...I'm sure your mother wouldn't even want you out htis late at night." The charcoal adult smirked, moving towards Ezeoha and grabbing him by the extra skin on his neck. "Yew showld bee en behd." Nahi said with a mouthful, moving back up the priderock steps.

"You can know nothing about my mother!" The cub countered, his eyes flashing with fury. It did help to include that his eyes were already a disturbing red, a color often tied with anger and fury. It could prove to make a pretty effect when he was older. The cub gritted his teeth, digging his paws into the dirt as Denahi pushed him with his big paw. "Don't touch me you giant perv!" The cub hissed. Oh, yes, Ezeoha and his father were destined to have a bad relationship.

The cub's eyes widened momentarily as Denahi moved over to him, and then he was kicking and screaming as the adult picked him up by the scruff of his neck. "I haven't stayed with mommy in ages! I'm independent and fine on my own! LET ME GO BEFORE I KILL YOU, YOU SICK PERVERTED-" These words were followed by some customary cuss words that had proven to make the ears fall off of some adults. Ezeoha was well rehearsed in the language of curses.

Denahi growled at the little mouth of the cub. He placed his son on the ground, using a paw to hold him still for just a moment. "Tell me Ezeoha," The father started, his eyes narrowing at his son. "Where is your sister, Baridi? Where is your brother Baakir?" That would probably scream OMGSTALKERGOAWAY right at Nahi, wouldn't it?

"Tell me, what makes you think you can kill me?" The lion was angry, but he wasn't going to take the anger he use to withhold out on this boy. No, instead he would just put it through his words. "What makes you think a small boy like you can handle someone four times as big as you." Denahi sneered. "Because you carry jewelry around on your neck to attract attention?" Denahi rolled his eyes.

"Your mother is probably worried sick about you, ever thought of that? And what about your father? What if your parents were off looking for you when you went off dillydallying at night hmm?" Who was Denahi to speak of Ez's parents? Oh right, he was Ezeoha's father.

Ezeoha was becoming distressed, and wiggled frantically under his father's paw in a desperate attempt to escape from the older lion's own tirade. "I don't know, and to Hell, I don't care!" This could either be expected from Denahi, or could surprise Denahi. Ezeoha didn't take to mind that Denahi could be a stalker, all he was focused on was getting away to Nukta (who Ezeoha was beginning to consider more of a father than Denahi, though Nukta disliked the cub).

"What makes you think you can kill me and get away with it!" The cub shot right back, refusing to answer any question he didn't like. "My jewelry is not supposed to attract the attention of an isane rouge who thinks he owns the place!" The cub manuevered himself under the paw, just enough so he had a good enough shot at biting him, which he did attempt quite forcibly.

"My mother has done her duty by birthing me, and I have done my duty by sticking around for as long as I did! Besides, my father wouldn't go out searching for me. The b*****d's never even around to speak with his own son. Are you really tempted to harm such a tragic soul such as myself?" His eyes narrowed, and he determined that when he was old enough he was going to hurt this lion, and hurt him bad.

"I have my ways." Sky blue eyes narrowed on Ezeoha, growling slightly. "Try living with those who try to kill you every second of the day and night, and you'll learn things." He sneered, lifting his paw as the golden boy's struggling and wriggling increased. When the small fangs connected with flesh, Denahi narrowed his eyes even more, hissing but doing nothing of it. Best let the boy get out his anger right?

Denahi eyes faultered from their glare to watch his son. Had he really been that horrible? He couldn't help it if he wasn't able to get here! It was his own stupidity, sure, but you can't change the past! Nahi was here now, wasn't he? "Watch that tongue of yours boy." The charcoal adult growled. To break the ice, or not?

"Oh my, such a tragic soul indeed to live without a father who has been with you since the day you were born." The charcoaled one sneered. "Such a tragic soul to go on living that his b*****d father is /never/ around to speak with his own son." Denahi rolled his eyes.

"Such a tragic soul indeed who doesn't even know when he speaks to his own father face to face, eh?" At this, Denahi's eyebrows shot up before narrowing again.

"I'm not such an idiot as you are. I would not place myself with those who wished me harm. All you could have possibly learned is how much of a dimwitted fool you are." The cubs eyes narrowed, and then he was on his feet, his fur raised as high as it could go. Denahi had released him, and though he was small right now, he would not back away from danger. That was a thing for little girls to do. Ezeoha was going to be a man and stand up to this prehistoric brute.

"How many times must I tell you that you can't order me what to do? I'm not going to watch my tongue. That'd be difficult," he paused for a moment before continuing on, "and no, I do understand what you meant, I just wanted to take it in the literal sense first."

The cub shifted his shoulders, unable to remain still. Every now and then he'd move to one side, as if keeping himself prepared to jump away in case Denahi attacked. These actions certainly weren't in preparation for what he was about to hear.

At first he blankly stared at the older male, wondering what kind of lunatic he must be in order to think that Ezeoha's father had always been with him. Then he decided that Denahi was certainly the worst kind of lunatics because he had just claimed to be Ezeoha's father.

...Wait, what?

"You possibly can't be my father." It was the denial stage, and Ezeoha arrogantly flipped the beginnings of his mane. "I look nothing like you. My father would have my eyes, or at the very least the color of my fur. You're trying to mess with my head, you stalker, and it isn't going to work."

Heh. What an idiot Ezeoha was.

"Oh, is that so? Then tell me, how come your brother Baakir has charcoal on his head, as well as a stripe running down his back. How come your sister Baridi has teal colored eyes. Tell me Ezeoha, why do both of your siblings have three different color eyes. Where did Bari's chocolate rimmed eyes come from?"

Denahi smirked. "You know nothing Ezeoha. You just think you know it all. Tell me, if you are so smart, then why does your aunt and uncle bear a striking red pelt, when their parents, your grandmother and grandfather, do not bear that color pelt on them?" The charcoal male wasn't so stupid. Ezeoha was the stupid one. xD
PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:34 pm

Ezeoha was getting barraged with questions, and they seemed to be slowly overwhelming the cub. His mind tried to act quickly, tried to think up decent answers to Denahi's questions that would prove that the lion was not his father. There had to be some explination behind it, an explination that did not support the idea that this brute of a lion was Ezeoha's father. This monster couldn't possibly produce such a sleek and sly child such as Ezeoha.

"Shut up," he hissed at him, not prone to connecting words together. His words were always nice and crisp, perfectly pronunciated so that it seemed like he looked down on those who couldn't even master a language. "I hate Baridi and Baakir, and they hate me. I wouldn't be surprised if we weren't related at all. I could be adopted, or something stupid like that. Heck, they could be your children that you forced on my mother. But, whatever the case is, I'm not your son. I'm not mean, nor cruel, nor am I bulky or a brute. I am everything you are not."

His eyes narrowed, and he turned around to jump on a rock that put him above his father (which was purely a symbolic gesture). "I am a prince of these lands, and you are a prince of nothing. I will be something when I grow up, and you will still be nothing. You'll remain weak and demented and then come to realize that I am not your son. Perhaps by blood, but by any other means you are nothing but a passing figure in my life, too small to have such an important role as my father."

Denahi's teal eyes narrowed dramtically as his son told him to shut up. With his large paws, he placed htem on a rock to stand on his hind legs, raising himself to meet up with Ezeoha. "You will NOT talk to me like that. You will not say that I forced myself upon your mother," Denahi snarled slowly, baring his pearly white fangs. "Do. you. understand. me? Like it or NOT, I AM your father." The older male seethed.

His paws left the rock, turning away from the small 'prince'. "By the way," Denahi sneered. "You're welcome for that jewelry you wear. Firekin's most precious jewels." He sneered, moving away from his son slowly.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:48 pm

Ezeoha backed away from his father, red eyes flashing. "I do understand you, but I doubt that will make me halt my words. You have no power over me. A father is a figure for the most part, and you were an absent figure. All that connects me and you is blood, and even that is a thin connection." It seemed almost difficult to imagine a juvenile spewing out such spiteful words, but when pressed, Ezeoha could be a real p***k.

He watched as his father began to walk away, and the cub leapt from his ledge, running to stand in front of his father's way. Ezeoha was not through with him yet. "Why would you give your son that nasty pride's most precious jewels? Better yet, why would you only give them to me? Did you want to curse me when I meet up with some Fireken. Do you really want this son of yours gone so badly?"

Oh-ho, now Ezeoha wanted to talk? Well to bad, because Denahi wasn't listening.

"Hmm? Oh, I'm sorry, are you talking to me?" The rogued male growly slightly, moving around the smaller juvenille. "And who said they gave it to me, hmm? I wasn't the typical firekin member there you know." He said gruffily. "I gave them to you because they suited you. When you were just born, you rolled into your uncle who had the same color pelt as your eyes. That blazing red of the gem reminded me of you, which is why I gave it to you, and only you." He said grumpily, moving away from the male again.
