Lady_Ourania ((Koori then. 3nodding
And sure, I'll start. Don't destroy me if it's a hideous post though. vwv ))He really hadn't intended to dig the hole so deep. The plan had been to toss aside just enough dirt to find whatever it was that Sol had insisted was just below the mucky surface, and then suffer the purring and nuzzling of the pleased little fox once he was finished. Unfortunately, whatever it was that had been buried was not just beneath the first layer of ground, and Odin had somehow managed to burrow far enough to leave a crater-sized depression of impressive proportions. Sol had grown predictably bored sometime during the excavation and had wandered off to explore a bit with promises to return if he called.
Which was part of the reason why he was stuck in a very literal hole of his own making without anyone to ask for help. Had there been tree roots for his claws to latch onto, the purple male might have made it out, but the sides were fine dirt that crumbled beneath his feet and send him tumbling back down to the bottom. The dustling stared mournfully upwards, wishing for Freya's wings or at least an answering call to his weary. "Sol!" Farferalloie OOC: 'Tis a good post *nod* Koori had wandered away from home. He had never been away from home in his life up to this point. The main reason being that Far always needed help tending the little plot of land he owned in the mountains. It was where they managed to sustain themselves, with crops and a few chickens for the occassional meat. But Far had given him and his sister the day off, Kari wanted to stay close to home and explore the mountain...which was a much better idea then he had had. He was lost...in a freakin' dessert. Sure, they were surrounded by it on all sides, but they could see the town of Stardust from home...it was very close. But once off the mountain, with the dunes and such, it was impossible to see anywhere. Damnit, how the hell am I going to get home? I miss home already...Koori was indeed already homesick, mentally and he was getting nauseous...but that could be a side effect of the heat. His seemingly endless padding through the dessert was interrupted...and next thing he knew, he was tumbling head over heels...downward. He landed on top of something fury, warm, and soft. What the heck? He was also looking straight up at the sky. Lady_Ourania At first, the dustling had been unable to determine why the sun had been blotted out. His first instinctive supposition was that a stray cloud had moved into the rays' path, but then something collided with him, and a yelping tangle of limbs and colors ensued.
Odin squirmed until he was free, shaking off any remaining sand and shock. His green eyes blinked to take in the new figure, claws clenching the ever-moving ground to keep himself upright. The dust tried to consider what the proper greeting was under such circumstances, remembering Freya's rant on ettiquette, but nothing came immediately to mind.
"Uh..." He curled his tail tighter to his body, allowing the large dust to back away and give his companion a little more space. "I guess you didn't see the hole, huh?" Farferalloie Koori was thrown to his feet as, what appeared to be a dustling, thew him off and moved to the other "side" of the whole. "No...I was little distracted by my thoughts," he replied tentatively. He had never met another dust besides his sister, this was an extremely exciting moment for him. And, damn, NOW he really wished he had better vision, what he had was adequate enough to work with and live with, but he had learned his way around the farm when he was young, before his vision went bad. This was something new. He basically only saw a giant purple mass with green dots for eyes, here and there were splotches of different colors... Patterns, they must be patterns... He squinted his white eyes to attempt to get a better look, but it only helped mildly. Lady_Ourania ((I don't mind, Forever. I was actually thinking of luring Sol back into the RP with a promise of shinies. ^^ She's a fox as well, and I haven't had the chance to RP her full-grown.
Edit: Or you guys can RP together. That works too. 3nodding ))The dragonfly-emblazoned dust didn't know what the squinting meant: Freya had only done that when she had been exasperated into a headache. Maybe the fall had hurt the new male's head?
"Well, looks like we're both stuck then." He said reluctantly, remembering too late Ceridwen's scathing remark that he had a knack for stating the obvious. "Sorry you fell in. I was looking for something for Sol and I guess I got carried away..."
It didn't occur to him that this male did not know his starfox pal, but then many things didn't occur to him; case in point: digging a hole that was large enough to capture not only him but another of his species was likely a bad idea. Farferalloie forever_broken292 ((Sure! Could we include reaper as well? (Lilac colored male . . . sounds purdy . . .)) OOC: Again, I don't mind, just ask Lady Our. "No, REALLY?" Koori replied sarcastically. "I'm sorry, I'm just aggrivated at my lack of vision, or rather, just how horrible it is." Koori readjusted himself into lying down on the cool sand, well, at least down here they wouldn't dehydrate to death to quickly. He lay his head on his front legs and his tail by his side. Might as well conserve energy. "Who is this Sol you speak of?" forever_broken292 ((Okay, Malaya (my fox) shall RP with the two trapped little guys, and Aolani (my dust) shall RP with Reaper 3nodding ))Malaya had been at the top of a very high tree and was gliding around when, as usual, something caught her attention. She went to dive down before she noticed that it was a very, very, VERY large hole. She landed a few feet away and peered over the edge curiously, noticing that there were not one but two male dusts caught in the whole. She smiled rather dubiously.
Err . . . I have a feeling you guys didn't plan to be down there? she asked, looking at the two of them with a puzzled expression. Lady_Ourania Odin shrank back a little at the unmasked derision in the blue-shaded male's voice, his perked tail sagging despite the immediate apology that followed. Like any scolded child, he sat heavily, making sure to give the seemingly moody-dust space.
"She's my friend," He replied absently, a clawed digit on his front leg burrowing apprehensively into the base of their prison. "She was supposed to come back when I called her, but... I guess she's too far out."
The section of fur above his horns itched, but he knew that it would take too much jostling to reach it properly. He missed Sol and her friendly voice and he missed moving his hulking form without restraint.
His beak tilted skyward when words that were neither his nor the blue male's tickled his ears, tail wagging slightly to stir up dust. "Hello," He greeted, pleased to find that it was a creature like Sol peering down at them. "Nope. I dug the hole too deep and now we're stuck." After a moment's pause, he gave the unnecessary addition of: "Don't fall in, okay?" forever_broken292 Malaya smiled, yeah, she had figured that part out, but stretched her wings to show them off.
I won't but I could probably fly out anyway . . . she said, then realizing that her statement couldn't have made them feel any better. She paused in thought, her tail waving slowly from side to side.
Hmmm, well . . . I'm not strong enough to lift you guys out and Aolani, my friend, is, but he doesn't have wings . . . she mused, speaking her thoughts as she thought them. What could she do to help them?
Maybe . . . you guys could dig kind of . . . I dunno . . . sideways? Make the sides of the whole less steep? Then I could give you guys just enough of a lift that, between my lifting and your clawing, you guys could get out she said, seeming happy with this plan. She could even help them dig, and maybe even bring them water when they got thirsty, though that part could be heavy too.
((Ugh . . . dad put on an internet block again; I must go gonk No, and she was just getting RPed, too crying )) Farferalloie "Hey, I'm really sorry, didn't mean to...make you cringe," Koori replied extremely apologetically while he began absently pawing at the sand. "Ah, I see, must be nice to have friends...well, that aren't related to you anyway," he quickly added the last comment, almost ashamed he had forgotten about Far and Karibi at home. At the same time the bigger dustling looked up, so did Koori, he was pleased to see something that could fly, something that could probably help them both out of this mess. He smiled as best he could...having a beak made it a little hard. Lady_Ourania "It's alright," Odin said brightly, just as quick to accept an apology as he was to take offense. "And she's kinda related to me... a little." He wasn't sure precisely how, but surely someone who lived in the same house as he did was related in some sense. Besides, he had reared the fox himself: She was as dear and precious to him as Freya and Ceridwen were.
"Sideways?" The dust glanced dubiously at the massive amount of work before him, paws tingling faintly with anticipation. He shrugged his behemothic shoulders, sending ripples down his amethyst and black pelt. "If you say so."
He wasted no more breath on speaking, instead launching his enormous form at the steep incline, tearing away at it with a single-minded tenacity. Digging was his specialty, in a way, and he had every intention of upholding that honor. Farferalloie OOC: SCREW IT! I can't resist. XDD This will be edited with a post. Koori didn't have time before the giant, he hadn't realized untill now just how large the other dustling was, had launched into digging. Far unfortunately couldn't help, adding to his already horrible vision, he had dirt flying at him, and his focus was on staying on top of the mounting pile. Koori was about...three quarters of the size of the other dust, then he realized it. We don't even know each other's name! and laughed inwardly. Lady_Ourania It didn't take long for a gouge to begin to form, though the heat on top of the exertion had the dragon sweating beneath his thick fur before the real labor started. His claws scoured the earth in great heaps, his thick limbs heaving the dislodged portions back as well as he could and as quickly as he could, but the pace was demanding, and his vision was clouded with debris and fatigue.
Unfortunately, the dustling was disposed towards using his muscles until they gave out, and so he continued to take the winged fox's words to heart until his beak was opened wide, lithe tongue curling out the side as the blue crescents on his tail blurred into lines of motion and the silver of his legs were almost invisible as they buried again and again into the mountain of dirt. Farferalloie Koori could smell the exertion radiating off of the other dust. He became mildly worried, but did not express this fact as he was still trying to stay on top of the ever increasing pile. From what little Koori could see, and what little of his mind he could dedicate to thinking, the dust was making excellent progress. In fact, he looked about halfway done. Considering just how steep the slope was before, this gouge was a major improvement and, at the rate he was going now, they could be out of there in a another few minutes.
