tell me your ideas and thoughts of why more women are sensitive to the paranormal than men.
no offence to the men but its a fact that most psychics now and back is the day are/were women.

Well, for a few reasons, women and the moon have been closely tied. First, there's the obvious 'red tide' bit... but we won't get into this much. The moon has been associated as a feminine celestial body. It represents intuition, the subconcious, madness, and is strongly tied to several cycles. There are very, very few masculine deities that were associated with the moon.
I don't think that all men are necessarily less in tune than women are, so don't get me wrong there, but I think that women are more suceptable to it because we have to. Genders aren't equal, they aren't.... (this doesn't mean that either gender should be treated as inferior, either), however this is one of the strongpoints that women tend to have even when some men do not.
It might also be something we have gleaned because we had to. It would certainly be strange if a woman is more suceptable to this sort of perception because it is written into her blood, her genes as you will. Ancient times speak of so many monsters in the night, and maybe the reason that we believe women tend to be more intuitive is because those that weren't got eaten.

I think society plays an important role in this too. How many times have you heard someone get mocked for trusting an instinct? Or a kid get razzed for having a "wild imagination" when clearly they feel they have seen something?

For example: My sister-in-law had a Christmas party we (me & hubby) went to this past holiday. A friend of hers went on and on about her son, and I'm telling you, this kid is TOTALLY psychic! Even my husband, the ultimate skeptic had to admit something was going on with this kid...
1- He told his mom right before thier dog died that the dog had said "I have to go, good bye and thanks for everything. I love you"
2- Right after the dog died, the kid told his mom "she says she's happy now, and she's in a good place"
~.^ Tell me that's not psychic!

Anyways, I think men are more susceptable to societies standards of spiritual ignorance. Just think about it, if they are sad, they are not "allowed" to cry (I mean, have you ever seen a man at a funeral who acts like he is a wuss because he is crying over his mom/wife/daughter/sister? Makes me sick! Cry for Pete's sake, you're only human and someone you loved is dead!), they aren't supposed to think things are pretty, or whatever. Always gotta be all tough and "manly". That concept of man has NO PLACE for psychic intuition!

Yet, on the opposite side of the coin, women are considered to be "emotional and unstable". This is actually a good thing in all reality, (at least to me)because it allows us to be much more in contact with our "women's intuition" which is just another way to say psychic instinct wink 3nodding

May I ask a question?
In my family, all of the women on my mothers side are all quite in tune with the supernatural, and always seem to have unexplained things happen to them.
I am a male, and I expirience things to a lesser degree than the women, but a greater extent than the males.

My question is, why?

I don't have a set reason, but would you like to hear a theory? My little brother is actually more sensitive then any of his 4 sisters (myself included)

I think sometimes when a guy has had a lot of female influence, he is able to be more in touch with his emotions (even if it's not always acceptable to show it) and thereby more in touch with his psychic energies.

Lol, I thought it would be more complicated to say then that, but I guess not xp . Anyways, if you had a strong female influence in your life (which it already sounds kind of like you've had) that might be why. wink

I thank you for your answer.
I have indeed had a few femine influences.
I have always been closer to my mother over anyone else (When I was a child).
So your theory makes sense to me.

What?!
You're not thinking what I think you are, are you?
It was nothing like that.
My father is well, an a**.
The only positive parental influence I had was my mother. So we were close.
Now, I am 16, and I have a gf and everything.
I get along with my mother still, and I remember all she has taught me, but like most every other kid my age, I avoid conversing with my parents.
(I almost never leave my room anymore)

(I am sorry if I got the wrong impression from your post. sweatdrop )

gonk What on earth did you think I was thinking? xp No, it's cool to have a mom you can be close too, that's all I meant, and just cuz you're a teenager doesn't mean that has to stop you know? She is still your mom, and has to be all parenty, but she can be your friend too and help you through some of that teenager tough times stuff 3nodding .

So many guys are denied any kind of true closeness with any woman, so it's nice to see someone who had the right kind of bond wink Hence the winking whee

It is just by the way you set the smiley faces in your previous message that made me think you suspected something...incestful.

I know, and I agree with you. I may avoid them, but we still get along while we talk. And she is indeed helpful, when I ask or if she notices I need help and i'm not saying anything.

But all of this is off topic ^_^;

As I said, I apologize for getting the wrong impression from your previous post.

Mostly because most of us are blinded by mater, and don't believe in the paranormal. Those with enough fantasy and intuition may become psychic. It's the female part in everyone, this isn't something specificly in woman.
