 Azula had traveled far and long to get here, across bland plains, along rivers, and through hilly valleys. Finally she'd reached the border of the scorching sands.
Azula gazed out with piercing crimson eyes, scruitinizing the lands as she stepped through past and over dune after dune. Finding the lands her mother spoke of in her past would not be easy, but she was determined, and that was all she'd ever needed before. If she had to spend one more day in the presence of the slack-jawed local rogues, however, she'd snap someone's neck.
~Mother was such a coward. A true lion of the blood would have returned instead of getting comfortable amongst such.... low lives...~

Kimeti had decided to do rounds for a change instead of sending someone else out to secure the pride's territory. The jobs wasn't the most beloved duties of the pride but it was something that had to be done on a regular basis to ensure that anyone entering the sands knows that there is a pride about and not to tresspass.
Navigating the rolling dunes was a fairly easy job for the king. Growing up here meant he knew what lay upon the other side of each dune. Even the winds of change could disrupt Kimeti's sense of navigation within the scorching desert.
As the day grew on and the sun reached it's highest point Kimeti was preparing to return back to the den to relax and cool off his body when a strange, red form appeared from a top a dune. Golden eyes watched the obviously female form gaze upon his home. Could this be a new slave for the pride?
Deciding that whomever the stranger was wasn't going to get away, Kimeti moved towards her at a rolling pace which would surprise anyone when seeing a lion the size of the king drifting of dunes.
He approached the femme, eyes hard as he surveyed her. "Who are you?" His voice wasn't cold but it wasn't very inviting either.

Azula's gaze quickly snapped back into focus, calmly turning red eyes to look upon the stranger who had so bravely approached her in the dessert heat. A large male, by the look of him, and he carried himself with no doubts or visible insecurities. His red pelt was the last clue. He was of the Firekin bloodline. She was close to home.
Azula kept her stance, standing without doubt or hesitation, no question in the way she held herself as she looked back at the King before her.
"My name is Azula. I'm the daughter of Moto and Moto'Roho of the Firekin."

Golden eyes studied the female in front of him a bit more as he pondered over her stance and reply. She seemed to have the appearance of a Firekin, especially that fiery red pelt of hers and the air she carried about her was most certainly one of pride and strength.
"Why return now? Why come back to your pride at this time and not sooner?" It was a pretty basic question and one that he asked most if not all of those who had returned to the Firekin lands.

Azula's stance and gaze remained firm and calm, answering with the solid nerves of one who spoke nothing but the utmost truth.
"The choice was not necessarily my own. My mother left the pride to escape the plague, she died in the roguelands, and I have been searching for home since I was old enough to travel."
