Sometimes. Most of the time it's only because I'd rather read the hardcover instead of the paperback, or because it's a different translation, etc.

I generally only buy a book after I've read it. If it's a book that's been out for a while, I'll check it out from the library. Once I've read it, if it's something I really want to have, I'll buy it. If it's a new book, I'll read reviews about it and read at least a chapter in the bookstore before I drop the cash. Exceptions are when I find interesting-looking books at yard sales for a price like twenty-five cents.

Kaelyn_giselle I usually get books from the library and then if I really like it, I'll go buy it. Me too. LIke I read the Princess Daires, Pendragon, and Chronaciles of Narina and we now have them. (first two are mine and the third is my brothers) I really want to get the Abarat books and Inkspell and read Inkheart.

I do if the book was really good, and I think I might want to let one of my friends read it. I try to serve as a library for good taste.

Anymore I generally buy books only after I've read them. Exceptions are usually if I'm collecting a series or random desires to buy an unknown book.

If I borrowed it and happened to like it, then yes I'll buy them...that's how most of my Abhorsen series got onto my shelf... sweatdrop

Usually only if I really liked it. But these days the only books I've read are ones I've bought.

Yes! I always re-read books until they die...so if I liked it, I buy another copy.

I'll buy another copy of a book if I have the hardback and want the paperback (and vice versa), or if I like the book a lot and I'm likely to demolish it by reading it too much. I'll also buy another copy if I have the first edition or signed copy of anything; because those ones are special and must not get worn out.

If it's a good book, and in case I want to read it again, I'll have it by my side if I buy it. 3nodding
