Ladies (and some gentlemen), are you tired of not having enough money? Dying for more video games? Feel like you can't have both? Last week i found out i can. I applied for a job at Gamestop, AND I ACTUALLY GOT IT! And i suggest you all try to secure postitions at your nearest video game store too!Now before you think "I don't want to work, to much effort" think about it. Not only are you getting that precious green paper, but you are also gaining access to tons of discount and first dibs on all kinds of games! You know you want this job too. (Oh, but keep in mind that it might be easier for girls to get jobs at video gaming places than girls. You know why.)

My nearest GameStop is too far of a drive for it to be worth it, especially since I already have 2 jobs to deal with. xD

I've applied to various gaming shops, but my family never stays in one house long enough for me to actually take the job. My sister works at Best Buy as a general manager and her discounts are NICE.

I'm applying for a job at EB right now. Actually, the manager is supposed to call me sometime for an interview, (I'm doubting that now). He told me it was inbetween me and two other people. Though a few friends of mine have been saying these things about the EB which I'm not sure about. One says something about small and cute girl and another says something about having to be in university to get the job at EB. I'm sure neither of those are true. >.< (I don't really care either way, but I'm both and I'm hoping the fact that I know some of the workers and I am a regular customer might help.)

Even though I highly doubt these "rumours" are true and a job is a job, whether it's at EB or not. I don't think you HAVE to be 18 for it, but the majority of people working there do seem to be a bit older, so who knows.

No you don't have to be 18. I'm sixteen and I still got the job. I'm working at Gamestop though so I don't know how EB games runs things....You don't have to memorize all the games either but you do need to know important dates (like Madden 07 comes out on the 22nd and Gears of War comes out on Nov. 12). And actually i don't recomend lying. It's always a better idea to be honest to ANY of your potential employers.

oh okay. well, i live in canada so i dunno if theres any gamestops here... ive never actually looked sweatdrop , but if its the same for EB then im so definetely there! i guess for the "knowing the important game dates and all that shizzit" its something you learn on the job probably.. right?

I know a couple of people who work at one of our local EB's. Sadly they get paid only about 2/3rds of what I get. And I always end up upgrading hardware anyway.

Not really sure about the needing to know dates part. I mean, sure some of the important dates you need to know (ex: when the PS3 comes out or whatever) but most of the games dates, I know at least at EB they always look it up on the computer before telling you.

And the minimum in TO is 7.75, so... it's not like they're getting paid a lot, but I think its more the fact that it's something people like. I wouldn't mind making a bit less money when doing something I liked. (Still waiting for the EB job..XDD My bf already got one, gah!)

working at an game store would be very nice, and discounts would help out alot. I probaly start working when i'm eighteen snice you have to be that age i'm not sure but if not i'll start working somewhere next year. of course i'm going to apply for that job first if i don't get the job i'll have to do something else. but i wanna do something i enjoy doing and get paid for it. working at an game store i would enjoy each and everyday>3
