Okay, first for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson: And now, for his pen name: Lewis Carroll! According to this site, his name was derived by... Ah, here, I'll quote it: Quote: Carroll invented his pen name by translating his first two names into the Latin "Carolus Lodovicus" and then anglicizing it into "Lewis Carroll." Interesting, no? I always did wonder how authors and artistes of other specialties pick their pseudonyms. Maybe some do just pick a normal-sounding name at random, while others do word plays, and still others have in-jokes with their names. So, would you use a pseudonym? What sort of pseudonym? You know what, let's just make random pseudonyms for fun!

Navi already knew that. xp
I wouldn't use a pen name because I'm incapable of actually finishing a book. So there's really no need for one. ^^

I heard that already, too. As well as a few other slightly different versions.
I do use a pen name. But just cause I don't like my real name.

Well, I didn't know it! *feels stupid*
I once made a pen name that was an anagram of [Kibeth's real name] wrote this. I liked it because the last name was BITER.
"Would you like some tea, Mr. Biter?" "No, fetch me some cake, something I can REALLY sink my teeth into!" domokun
I could also just reverse the phrase [Kibeth's real name] wrote this and get some nice Old-Irish sounding first names. The last name, though, would become Neb. neutral
"Would you like some more tea, Mr. Neb?" "Please, call me by my first names. They sound so much more Old-Irish." gonk
Besides, the phrase "Old Irish" bothers me. I prefer the phrase "Old Codger". ^^

My real name is long, complicated, and hard to pronounce. Lots of Zs and stuff like that. And I have three long first names, and I get called all three fairly equally, so... Yeah. See, I was the first boy born in a long time, and there were a lot of dead male relatives whose names were waiting to be used, and I got saddled with them all. ^^

I consider it my legal name where what I go by is my real name. rofl Mostly, I get called by my middle 'real' name. ^^

My mother has this facination with naming her female children masculine names. My sister's name is Darien and my name is Brette. Lovely mother, no? Then, on account of one nurse's stupididty I was donned another name that was supposed to be made the first half of my middle name. A made-up name by my grandparents for my aunt, then passed down to me. So.. because of this stupid mistake, my first name is Brette-Shereena. Then, my mother's maiden name, which just happens to be the same as a large telephone company became my middle name, leavng me with one of the most common british last names to exist ever.

Wow. This is like a puzzle. With a few more clues, Dupin will solve the mystery! surprised

I like pseudonyms more than pen-names. Fun, fun.

Pen-names are a bit restrictive.

When I was clicking past the main forum, I caught this thread's title for a split second and my mind read it as "Charles Lutwidge Von Frankenstein." Isn't that fabulous? biggrin
