Name: Miller James Milano
Age: 16
Human Appearance:
About 5’6 he has brown hair with slight hints of red highlights when in the sun and hazel eyes. His hair is like most typical teens in his school,  halfway down the ear, straight when combed but mostly un-kept. He’s nothing amazing, and for his age he’s not really all that physically strong either. He’s rather slim only weighing in around 120 pounds. He has a small hoop ear ring in his left ear and signs of facial hair. He has a few freckles along his arms in a dark brown matching his hair.
Often he wear’s baggy pants, sometimes even shorts with multiple pockets big enough to hold a small novel in them and t-shirt with any sort of wise crack phrase or logo often covered by a hooded sweater.
Character Personality: When Miller was younger he was far more social and active, as he grew older he was bullied in school for his lack of strength, and his interest in reading and video games. This latter on leads to his development of a bitter outlook on the world and people in general, preferring to find the negatives in the situation rather then some sort of bright side. This hasn’t stopped him from being a rather easy going normal teenager, but don’t expect him to look at the bright side of being turned in to an animal. For him the situation would bring no benefits and cause him to simply hate life more and more.
When he was 13 he was diagnosed with A.D.D. this often leads to losing him self in his thoughts, it also creates what he likes to call ‘his blissful ignorance.’ The less he pays attention to the world around him and the more he lingers in his own thoughts the happier he can be. Besides who doesn’t love that dream world in there head?
Miller enjoys 4 things in his life; one is the internet, when at home he can always be seen playing some sort of online game or chatting it up on Gaiaonline. The second thing is reading, if the computers broken or he doesn’t have one he simply pulls out one of his many books and starts to read, often he gets so deep in a book the world around him is shut out. Third, the sport of lacrosse, the only sport he ever enjoyed in middle school, when entering high school he picked up the sport, though his lack of physical strength prevents him from being the best he still enjoys the sport none the less. The last thing he enjoys is back talking, all his life in school his habit of looking at the negatives was apparent, and why must we learn algebra? Why do you need to take so many English courses and always read Shakespeare, he doesn’t write any different then he did last year, and it’s things like that he points out to teachers all the time. On the island anything he disagrees with or feels is flawed is completely open grounds for him to complain about. And he does it, and it isn’t all that nice.
Character Background: He lives in the same town he was born at, Laurel Maryland oddly not far from the famous doctor him self. He lives with his family, his father Anthony Milano, mother Marie Milano. He was on good terms both his parents though he had inherited his father’s stubborn streak, so much in fact that the two would more often then not, end up refusing to see eye to eye. His mother would often say however that they thought sometimes they had no son due to his nature of hiding in the computer room all day long, only being around during meals and family events. When he was younger he used to be an outgoing friendly person.
It was around 5th grade that his real bitter look at life started to come out as he started to get bullied in school. It wouldn’t be long after that his case of A.D.D. would be diagnosed.
During his years at Murry Hill Middle school Miller discovered the sport of lacrosse in gym class. That summer he started going to camps to learn more about it. By the time he reached his sophomore year he had been playing for almost 2 years both in season and at summer camps. When ever he wasn’t playing lacrosse or at school one thing was for sure and that was Miller was always online doing something.
From World of Warcraft, to chatting on IRC, Miller has seen the world through a glass screen, some of that world has also just happened to end up on the island. Four years prior to the island Miller met Nita on a website dedicated to Anime and Role Playing (Totally not Gaia I swear ) The year before Nita went to the island she visited Miller for a day during Christmas. After that they still kept contact till Nita mysteriously stopped talking to him right around the same time she left for the island. It’s now the summer of that same year and Miller is about to have an interesting run in with his old friend…
Provided Miller hadn’t ended up on this little island trip he was going to be entering his Junior year of high school focusing on art and computer courses in hopes to become a game designer or artist when he got out of school.
How does your Character get to/why was your character chosen for the Island? Summer had come around again, and of course with summer came a pile of summer lacrosse league’s and camps. Miller enjoyed spending his summer away from home at camp playing lacrosse and signed up for every news letter or chance he got, though he normally could only go to one or two camps.
This year a unique letter came, it didn’t directly say it was related to Dr. Moreau or even Feral labs, rather it was a well guised letter for another Elite 150 camp. This year it was being held on a small island just of the coast of Florida, it was also a special invitation. All Miller had to do was fill out a few medical papers and he would receive discounted flight tickets.
These records would be sent to a false database ran by Feral labs under another company name used to cover many of there activities. Once this information was received and approved the tickets where sent, the false helicopter flight planned and Miller was set for a one way ticket to an island no one really knew about.
On arrival to the island Miller was taken to the Feral lab's building for his DNA injection, of course this was disguised just like everything else. The doctors said any one on the island was required to take a vaccine to prevent a rare strain of island flu from infecting the people going to the camp. They warned the side effects of the flu may include pain through out the body, fever, and possible hallucinations.
This of course in theory would lead Miller to believe that his transformation at first was nothing more then a bad dream, a guise to hopefully keep him off center and subject to later vaccines to help him 'cope' with the flu.
Under the guise that this would be another camp like every other Miller brought along all his lacrosse gear, plenty of clothes, his favorite hoodie and his laptop for the ride.
Special Little Quirks:
Though not many islanders, possibly none even know it. Miller did have contact with one of them before they where taken in. Nita and Miller both knew each other through a free little anime role playing site, they even spent part of her Christmas break visiting each other for a few laughs. Miller still has yet to learn about Nita’s current real location and the possible result of seeing a friend on the island part way through transformation could result in less then positive results.
((This is actually based on a real life event where I really did meet Kimie Kitty in real life at Christmas! Much luff at joo Emma!))

The Animal:
Budgerigar - Melopsittacus ("melodius parrot") Undulatus ("wave-patterned".)
Facts all about the Budgerigar:
-Budgerigars are nomadic birds found in open habitats, primarily in Australian scrubland, open woodland and grassland. The birds are normally found in small flocks, but can form very large flocks under favourable conditions. The species is extremely nomadic and the movement of the flocks is tied to the availability of food and water.
How It Effects RP: As time goes on Miller would find him self cramped in his duplex finding the lack of open space to be a problem. Eventually this could even drive him completly out of the village and in to a tree where his new more bird like thoughts would be apeased.
- Budgerigars can be taught to speak, whistle tunes, and play with humans. They are intelligent and social animals and enjoy the stimulation of toys and interaction with humans as well as with other budgerigars. A common behaviour is the chewing of material such as wood, especially for female budgerigars.
How It Effects RP: As mentioned through out the thread, the ability to mimic voices and sounds Miller hears will be a big part of his latter stages. Because of a habbit to chew on things Miller might develop a habit he never really liked, chewing his nails and maybe even small twigs.
- Easy to feed, thriving mostly on seed diets with added vegetables and fruits.
How it Effects RP: You know how alot of kids never liked eating 'fruits and veggies' Miller is one of them and oh boy is he in for a kick when he looses his teeth for a beek and has to live on fruits and seeds!
Why I Choose This Animal:
The reason I chose the Budgerigar over my original choice of a gray fox was really based on the fact that so many people had frowned on the idea of just another fox/cat/dog like character, people had said they would like more birds to be apparent on the island. Beyond that it was brought up that a bird of the Parrot family would also have the possibly unique trait of mimicking other people’s voices on the island. This could give an interesting twist in which it allows Miller to either use his new talent to help others on the island or end up used by other islanders to reach their own goals.
No longer is this being picked simply because I like the creature, but chosen to open new posible events on the island that could lead to anything in the IoDM story line provided Miller is given some of the unique traits I mention in this quest thread.
My Ideal 100% Final Stage:
Describe your ideal 100% appearance : Not only can I give a 100% I have a whole list of his changes. During the 25% Miller would start to notice a forming beak on his nose, becoming stiffer and more angled. At the same time his hair would develop white and black stripes going across his hair like the pattern on the back and head of a Budgerigar.
At 50% the feathers would become very apparent, sprouting along the outside of his arms and back, his shoulder bones would also start to mutate to later become wings. At the same time his ring and middle finger would start to grow together forming a bird like claw with an extra finger in the middle. His feet however would remain the same…for now. He would also have a full beak now, but other then the beak and his hair growing feathers his face would still be very human. Non-Physically he would start to realize his ability to mimic voices, now able to mimic a voice only when some one is talking to him. So if say Billy was yelling at him, Miller might yell back only to accidentally copy Billy’s voice and spit it back.
75% The feathers would now have covered his body, his tail peeking out his pants waist, at the same time the deformation of his shoulder becoming very apparent even going as far as to actually sprout the wings though not fully grown. Also at this point he can use voices he has heard in the past to mimic, how ever he can only do this for a short time and before it strains his voice he would still accidentally slip in to other people’s voices. This could possibly even lead to him eventually destroying his vocal cords and require more interventions from the staff to get his voice back. (And make more trouble of course)
100% His wings and tail will finally be complete, at the same time his whole body would now be covered in feathers. His hands a pale yellow and clawed at the tips in a W shape with his thumb poking out at an angle like a human. His feet would also have converted in to the normal bird like Y design. The feathers on his chest would start white around the face moving down his chest turning blue as it goes. On his back and wings, it would continue to be white with black stripes. His voice mimicking would also be fully in his control able to copy any voice at will with a brief pause when getting ready, though it will always strain his voice in the end. The only real difference is he can do it on will and actually have control over it.
