the lights of the car are off..... the street lights are off.... no single candle or the lights of the houses are burning...
but the driver still sees the man standing infront of the car.. why?

Night vison or either the headlights are on. I know you said that the lights in the car weren't on, but you said nothing about the headlights.

I agree about the headlights. Oh, and what about a flashlight, hmm?? And what about another kind of light? Maybe he was using ALS or something! (Had to mention ALS, it's my favourite tool of the trade! I have my own lil UV light, and I carry it everywhere, lol!)
