[This is an open RP for whomever likes – would take place as Liamh is fresh on the island and still under the idea that it’s a safari-themed resort. Any percent is perfectly fine, though I might suggest 0%-25%]
He flopped into the white-slatted lounge chair and settled himself comfortably, bringing down sunglasses to rest over his eyes and folding his hands behind his head. He grinned. It had been a bit of a pain hauling the long chair out here near the lake, but it was worth it; the lapping of the waters, the warm tropical sun on his sunblock-doused skin, the palm trees as they tossed in the breeze... Of course, he HAD tried to haul it to the beach, but as he’d realized the magnitude of his task he’d quickly abandoned the idea and, undaunted, made for the much closer waters. He reached over to a little folding table and scooped up a slushy blue drink with one of those little paper parasols in it. Taking a slurp through the straw, he closed his eyes and nested one ipod earbud securely in his ear and hit play.
I'm two quarters and a heart down And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds...
The resort staff might be calling him in to start work on the computers any day, but if they were as delayed as they’d sounded, this might turn out to be the start of a beautiful vacation. Too bad more of the resort facilities weren’t up and running yet. Some perverse part of him had always wanted to learn shuffleboard, anyway. Maybe practice for when he was an old codger who... played shuffleboard. At least it looked like the Rec center he’d passed on the way here had a good variety of games – and the jewel of it all, arcade games at that. A smile tugged at his lips and he set down the remainder of his drink.
The combination of the warm afternoon sunshine and the fragrant breezes soon had him dozing, but a sound roused him from the impromptu nap. He opened one eye. Was that a voice, or voices, somewhere? Perhaps it was getting closer...

Gaius trotted along the soft jungle, lungs blasting as he sang merrily, under the impression that he was alone. "I go right, you go left! Sometimes we dooooon't agree! But in the end that's okay 'cause we're still brothers yooooou and meeeeee!"
If there was one thing he appreciated about the island, it was that everything was within walking distance of his own quarters. Clad in swim trunks tailored to accomodate his newly grown tail and shouldering a towel, Gaius continued along noisily, unaware that his private outing might not be so private as he thought.
At the first sight of the white chair, Gaius paused and stared before he realized what it was. A grin spread across his face. "Now that's genius! Wonder why I hadn't thought of that..." From where he was, he could see a patch of blonde hair poking over the back. His mind spun back, reviewing which islanders he knew of who had blonde hair. There was the snake-lady... but she had a lot more body that couldn't fit on a deck chair. Maybe Cody? But he was shorter than this person... Supposing it was probably someone he'd yet to make an aquiantance with, Gaius walked forward to meet them. Smiling, he remarked, "I'm envious! All the times I've been here and I hadn't even thought to drag one of those things over!"

Her first change would be comming soon, she just knew it. Everyone around her was transforming, they very thought caused her to shudder...Her turn would come around all too soon.
She had donned her usual outfit, black tank top and cargo pants. She however, had refused shoes, wanting instead, to feeling the sand in between her toes. Auburn hair was placed in a tight and clean ponytail behind her head, bangs falling just above her eyes.
Hands stuffed into her pockets a man in a very bright shirt had crossed into her line of vision. To talk, or not to talk...Lord she wasn't very good with people. "H...hello?" She found herself saying as she approached Liamh.

Curious, Liamh inched himself up the back of the chair until he could lean his head upside down over the backrest, tipping his glasses down - er, up -his nose to get a better look at the stranger. He blinked curiously as a strange-looking person seemed to be coming toward him, made no less strange by being viewed upside down.
"Heya! Yeah, it was a beast getting it out here, but i swear it's twenty degrees cooler with the water nearby... err, I'm Liamh, by the way." He extended his arm over his head for a handshake.
Is that fur...? Must be one of the event staff. Hasn't cleaned off all the makeup yet. Dang, this'll be a fun resort when it's up and running...
His eyes flicked to the side, noticing another figure approaching. "Avast ye!" He replied to her greeting, with a grin.

"Gaius." He took the hand in his own hoof-tipped fingers and shook it firmly, grinning down at the friendly guy. It never occured to him that a human-looking fellow should be in the dark about the island - everyone there knew about it!
"Good time to be out here too. The sun can be a real pain around lunch time, as I'm sure you can imagine! Almost enough to keep me from the cafeteria..." He grinned. "Almost."
Hearing the new voice, Gaius turned to catch sight of the approaching girl. Hm, there really were a lot of people he didn't know around here. Raising up a hand, he gave the red-head a friendly wave, his tail twitching behind him. "Heya! Don't worry, we're not criminals or predators!"

Liam took the knobbly handshake in stride, then rolled over to get a right-side-up look at the persons. He leaned on the back of his chair and waved at the young lady approaching. "Or pirates," he added to Gaius' statement. "Despite the avasting."

Ally hung back, hesitating a moment before breaking out into a grin at Gaius's comment. "Well I should hope not, didn't think criminals might looks as carefree and friendly as yall."
Walking untill she was next to them she drew both hands from her pockets and offered one to each of them. "And trust me its nice to see some friendly faces around here. I'm Ally by the way, sorry if I'm interrupting."
((Ally's personality is undergoing some changes at the moment so sorry if I'm not very true to my pre-drawn out one))

Liamh smiled widely and accepted his half of the handshaking. "No, not at all. I think we're all escaping the heat on a day like this. Oh, and I'm Liamh, before i forget." He chuckled, pushing his glasses back up his nose. He glanced at Gaius. "You're on the staff, I take it?" He looked the other guy over, noting the 'fake' fur patches.

It struck Ally suddenly that Liamh had no idea what was going on, on the island. Trying not to frown she looked over at Gaius, wanting to see how he would answer. "I take it you haven't met very many people here have you Liamh?" She interjected quirking her eyebrows upward in question.

Gaius took her hand, shaking it lightly and nodded his head. "I'm Gaius... er..." Modesty reminding him of his shirtless state - he HAD intended to swim, after all - a light blush flushed Gaius's cheeks. Mostly because, well, she was a girl and his dad had always pounded proper behavior around women into his head. He offered her a sheepish grin.
Liamh's question jerked him out of his embarassment, leaving him staring at the blonde guy in confusion for a moment. "Staff...?" Staff... staff... oh! The lab people? He snorted, his widened nostrils flaring in distaste. "Pfft! You really think I'd look like this if I was a part of the labs?" He shook his head. "Nah, I wouldn't even want to join them if they could undo this." He gestured at himself, at the fur, the pointed ears, and the tail that gave a light swish behind him. Quite remarkable for 'stage make-up.'

Liamh glanced between Allison and Gaius. "No, actually i haven't, other than the technicians i'm supposed to be working with. Whenever they get the systems online." He scrunched up one side of his face and examined Gaius again. "Labs? I don't suppose they'd need a getup like that in laboratory work." He scratched his head. "Hard to get off, then, is it? Must take a hellova time putting it all on... Funny," he said, turning to them again. "I didn't know they also did lab work here. I guess it's a great area for doing research." he shrugged. "Tropical climate and all. They have a grant for it?" He got a thoughtful expression. How odd to have a resort and a science facility on the same island. Almost suspicious, though they likely have every permit and safety regulation in place. Sounds like a great plot for some kind of alien virus breakout movie...

Gaius stared at Liamh with blatant disbelief, then rubbed his temples. "Oh geeze..." Crud bunnies on a stick. Was he... he couldn't be the FIRST changed person Liamh had met on the island, was he? But the girl, Ally seemed to be in the know at least.
He exchanged a pained look with her. Who was going to start the explanation to the poor guy? There wasn't any way to get out of it... It wouldn't be fair to him.
"Er, yeah, about the labs... there's something you should know."

Liamh grinned. "Ooo, don't tell me. Space mutants. Or is it a giant, earth-polarity-reversing electromagnet?" His expression soured. "Oh. It's some kind of weapons testing facility, isn't it... don't that beat all... Biochemical or nuclear?" He raised one eyebrow.

Perhaps it was the fact that she had grown up with three brothers, but Gaius's bare chest did little to phase her. Instead she fixed her gaze on the man in the chair. She had caught Gaius's look however and gave a small sigh. "No Liamh...This place is none of those. I'm sorry to dissapoint you hun....but this place is a very advanced genetic research facility run by, one, Dr. Moreau" She glanced back at Gaius, stuffing her hands back into her pockets, a sign of nerves. "You're one of his new projects."

Gaius nodded to Ally's statements. "It's true. This whole place... this island is all part of the facilities. No one knows we're here." He sighed, head sagging. "So there's not really any hope of rescue either..."
"They're... turning us into animals. I've already undergone my first change..." He tugged at an ear for Liamh to see. "This isn't any kind of make-up. It's all real as the hair on your head. Here," he turned around, giving his tail a swish for Liamh to see. "See? Doesn't look 'fake' does it? And check out my hands. I mean, sure there's fancy props out there, but you can see the hair growing out of my pores!"
