Rin walked down the street to the tavern. Rin took out his handkerchief and wiped the soot off his forehead. He walked into the tavern and appreciated the breeze of cold air that cooled him off a little.

Ella looked up from the table that she was studying at in the Tavern and noticed the first customer of the day. "Hey, can I help you?" Ella asked as she got up from her chair and moved to the other side of the Tavern's counter. "You look exhausted," Ella smiled.

Rin sat in front of the counter. " A glass of water if you would and yes I am quite tired. That old man is working me like a dog." I rest my head against the cool wood counter.

Ella grinned. She hated it when people came in and drank rum all day, though it was still too early for the usual crowd to come along. She grabbed a large glass and filled it with the cold spring water she had just recently heaved up from the Valley. "Here," she said, handing Rin the glass of water, "sounds like you've had a hard day, but if you want, the chairs in that far corner are most comfortable," Ella pointed toward the dark corner she was sitting in previously, with a faint light coming through a small window above the table. "I doesn't look too inviting, but it's comfortable," Ella remarked smugly.

He put the glass down " Nah I am enjoying my conversation here. and It's actually rather comfortable right here." Rin wouldn't admit his legs had fallen asleep.

Ella raised an eyebrow and continued to smile, "my name's Ella, by the way," she said, "Ella Boyde," she held out her hand to shake his unvoluntarily. "Anyhow," she continued, "I haven't been around this part of the country long as you may realize I'm sort of new here. Grew up in the South, if you couldn't notice by the accent and what-not, plus the excessive amount of talking... are you sure you're comfortable?" Ella pursed her lips and looked at him strangely.

Ella screwed up her nose a bit, "I didn't like the South much - thus why I moved here when I could," she smiled again, "Rin.. that's an unusual name. And just call me Ella - only skulking old men call me Miss Boyde," she said with a slight sarcasm. "Or worse," she added airily, "..either way, I'm uncomfortable just standing here and we won't have any customers for a while, so why not join me over there?" Ella pointed to the table and chairs in the far corner she had previously indicated.

Draconis was wiping down the benches when he noticed Ella talking to Rin, "she knows not to talk to strangers.." but Draco dismissed it and went on with his work. Ella was new and obviously very socially competent. Draco smiled.

Draconis eyed Rin suspiciously and motioned for Ella to get on with her work, but rolled his eyes and stepped into the back office for awhile.
