The golden sunlight was just starting to appear over the horizon and into the ruin they had been calling home for the last few weeks. Kichea’s eyes opened half-way and then closed again with a wince from the pain. The night had been a long one and she had finally gotten a moments rest. Their cubs would be here soon and were making it very clear. She slowly stood and tried to move a bit further into the den but the pain in her abdomen was too much to even limp with so she quickly fell to the ground again with a small cry. As she layed there she let her eyes scan over the cave slowly. Where was Riku? He had been there earlier hadn’t he… He could have just wandered outside for a moment but she had to be sure he wasn’t far. It wouldn’t be much longer until…
“Riku.” Her voice was weak but she called as loudly as she could. “Are you there?”

((Yeah, it'll open but it'd be better if no one posted until after the cubs were officially born. :3))
Tamariku had been scouting around the cave, knowing that the cubs would be born very soon. He wanted to make sure that no one was around to spoil the moment, and especially to be sure that no one (like Nyek) would cause harm to the newborns.
As Riku walked around, he heard a small cry of pain and he quickly rushed to Kicheas side as she called for him. "I'm here!" He said, nuzzling her softly. He helped her up, leading her deeper into the cave so she wouldn't be out in the open. He let her lay down on the soft mass of moss and grass they had made as their bed. He nuzzled her gently once more before laying down beside her, making sure she had room to move.
"I'm here." He repeatedmore gently, making sure she knew he was there for her. He couldn't believe it, the cubs were on the way! He was excited, but also scared, because he knew what could happen if a birth wnet wrong.

Kichea smiled softly through her pain as Riku helped her get to the soft bed. She was happy he was there. It was quite frightening what she was going through and it was nice not to be alone. Until now she had no idea what being a mother was about except from instinct. Her mother had left her to early to explain it all and this gave her a new respect for other mothers.
She laid down softly and leaned her head back to lick him on his cheek. "Thank you." She managed to whisper before quickly drawing her head back and crying again from another shot of pain. Walking back to the bed must had really gotten the cubs started up.
Kichea laid there for a few more moments panting and crying from the pain and her fright. She just wanted it to be gone and all the hurt to go away. It was all over soon enough. She looked up seeing her two cubs and then laid her head back onto the ground with a heavy sigh. Only two and she was proud of it being a small litter. After laying still just long enough to catch her breath again she reluctantly sat up to clean the cubs. As she sat there licking them a smile spread across her face. They were so cute and tiny... It was hard to believe these were her babies...

Tamariku uttered words of comfort and motivation to his love while she gave birth. He smiled when it was finally over, glad she was no longer in pain. Only two cubs; bot Gods they were gorgeous. He watched as they began to eagerly suckle from Kichea, and he chuckled softly at how they began quarrelling already over the milk.
Riku nuzzled Kichea gently, smiling to her as she began cleaning the cubs. "Now we must name them." He said, watching the newborns with pride shining brightly in his eyes. This was, no doubt, the happiest day of the lions life.

Kichea gave one last lick on the cub and then looked to Riku. "Yeah..." She spoke softly and then with a gentle smile she looked back at the cubs. Choosing the spotted one first she gently picked him up and set him before her so she could get a closer look. Her golden eyes sparkled as she looked over him trying to find the perfect name. Tilting her head slightly she looked back to Riku. "How about naming your son, Nakawa. Maybe the name will help him stay pure at heart and not let lions like Nyek affect him." She giggled softly at the thought of a small cub defying Nyek and his ways.
Licking the calico cub once more she placed him back to feed and gave the golden cub a lick addressing her. "Have a name for this little burst of sunlight?" Kichea smiled, growing happier by the moment as she looked back at Riku. It was so exciting laying there with her kin finally here in plain sight. They were so beautiful too. The little boy was calico like she was and had striped fur on his tail, and on what would eventually be his mane, like Riku. The girl was a bit puzzling though. She had a dimond upon her head like Riku but other than that it was a mystery to Kichea. Pride swept over her as she examined them.
Thank gods they healthy and beautiful like they are. They were really blessed...

Tamariku smiled with pride as Kichea picked a name for thier son, and he nodded. "That sounds perfect." He said, nuzzling her softly for a moment. "How about... Tui'lian. Golden sunrise." He said, smiling softly at thier children. He knew that Tui'lian looked like his father, and he smiled at the thought of him. Hopefully they would be reunited soon.
"We'll have to leave this place as soon as possible." Riku said, knowing that the topic must be discussed, even though he didn't want to ruin the moment. "Although we can talk about it later." He smiled softly at her, his eyes shining.

((hope yas don't mind I won't interrupt i just wanna post a nyekky))
The salmon tinted male smirked, there were many ways to find the where abouts of lions within HIS oasis, it was his after all, he knew every inch of it by now despite what Tamariku and his little love bird thought. He smirked watching the den silently his golden eyes fixed upon the dark hole that was the entrance. He was in a good mood though, for now, he would leave them alone, perhaps he would return tonight and ruffle some feathers, but for now he stood and left them to their own devices. Things had gone as HE had planned, HIS pride was expanding, how very excellent.

Kichea smiled and giggled softly completely enjoying the whole moment. " That's a beautiful name for our little sunshine." Her smile faded a bit at the thought of having to escape. The last few weeks had been pure bliss without the sight of Nyek or his followers but she knew it wouldn't last much longer. They would have to spend quite a bit of time planning if they wanted to outsmart or outrun half the pride. " We'll have to plan some time later. It's definitely something we have to talk about." The prideful smirk returned to her face as she looked back at her cubs. "Think they could use some fresh air? Or do you think we should rest a bit more?" She tilted her head as she looked at them. It had finally came to her that those little lives were in their paws and she hadn't the least idea of how to care for them except from her instinct. Until today she hadn't seen such a young cubs or how they were cared for and it made her a bit worried.

Riku smiled at her, shrugging a little. "I think maybe we should wait... at least until they can walk." He said smiling. Such helpless souls... So fragile and dependant on them. The thought both scared and comforted Riku, and he smiled to himself. I'm a father.
The small golden girl sqeauked as she backed away from her mother, opening her pale purple eyes with a squint. She tried to stand, her tiny legs wobbly beneath her. As she looked up at her parents, she cocked her head to the side curiously. With a little mew she watched her brothers tail, and jumped at it. She stumbled and fell on her face, blinking a few times before she wrapped her small jaw around her brothers tail.

"Yes, I guess that would make more sense. I've just gotten so caught up I guess I didn't think about that." She smiled a bit embarrassed not noticing they couldn't walk yet. "Riku... Do you think we'll make good parents? I mean we are both awfully young and I don't know anything about cubs and... It's going to have to take a miracle to get us out of here. I haven't even the slightest clue where we would start." Her eyes were glazed as she whispered looking into Riku's eyes, not wanting the cubs to hear her. It was strange how such small little creatures could bring such big fears into her heart.
The calico boy's tail swayed from side to side as he stood eating. He stopped hearing his sisters mew and looked back. His eyes golden eyes opened halfway watched her as she fell on her face and with a small squeak and yawn went back to eating. Suddenly his eyes opened wide with a sharp pain and heavy weight on his once free flowing tail. Looking back he glared at his sister seeing she had his tail her her mouth. With an annoyed squeak, he rolled over onto his back and sat up so that he could push her head away with his paws.

Riku watched the cub with pride filled eyes, and as he looked to Kichea he smiled a little. He nuzzled her ehad gently, keeping his head against hers as he whispered back. "Don't worry, my love, we'll figure something out. I promise you, we will get out of here. And the cubs will grow up as far from this place as possible, surrounded by lions that love them." He licked her cheek with affection and gazed at her lovingly.
Tui'lian watched as her brother sqeauked. She grinned at him, but as he pushed her she fell off onto her back. She blinked in confusion and hoisted herself back up. "Mew!" She sqeaked at him, and jumped into the air, tackling him into their mother.

" I'm glad you're their father. I love you, Riku and I don't know what I'd do without you being there for me." Kichea's eyes started to sparkle with happiness and she started licking him on the cheek like he did to her. She would have happily went on licking and nuzzling him if it wasn't for one of her cubs rolling into her. Stopping she looked down at the small cubs. " What are you two up to?" She giggled watching them play.
Nakawa squeaked and grunted and he rolled into his mother. She was definitely a lot stronger than she looked. He smiled and grabbed hold of her ear which was conveniently close to his mouth and started tugging on it.

Tamariku chuckled softly at the small balls of fluff and love, and he licked the spotted boy and then the little girl on the head. "They're very playful already." He said smiling at them.
Tui grinned up at her father as he licked her. She made a small almost growling noise and stuck her bum in the air before pouncing on his paw and chewing on it.

Kichea's eyes still sparkled as she watched him lick the cubs. She couldn't remember ever feeling a feeling this strong before and she loved it. Leaning into Riku a bit more to take in his warmth she sighed happily. "They are definitely going to be bundles of energy. Maybe it will come in use when we leave. For now it's just going to make them a pawful." She smiled and yawned lightly, "It'll be worth it though. Being so playful, our cubs should grow up to be healthy and strong."
Nakawa smiled happily and closed his eyes as his father licked him. It made him feel loved and he wanted to show his dad he loved him too. Sticking his tongue out and tossing his head up in the air he stumbled forward towards his father. He was quickly stopped short when his sister tackled his paw pulling it from underneath of him. He squeaked with discomfort and tried pulling his paw from her grip. When that didn't work he growled the best he could and grabbed hold on her ear again. Only this time he didn't plan on letting go.

Riku smiled and nodded, laughing softly. "I think you're right. When we leave they'll be able to keep up. I think when they get a little older, so that they can talk and learn a bit more caution, we should go." He nuzzled her tenderly, loving the feel of her against him.
Tui giggled as Nakawa fell, and she felt him grab her ear. She in turn grabbed his tail in her mouth and chewed on it gently, not wanting to hurt him. Much. he looked up at him with a spark of mischivious pleasure in her eye, and tackled him, making sure he didn't rip off her ear as she shoved him to the ground.
