you could make a dice game.... or make questions of subject that you like and people have to anwser and the gaian with more correct anwsers win... or I don't know

Well, if you like avatar art, you could always set up an art contest. That way you'd get some good art and you can give the gold out as prizes.

I know I'm new and probably could think of more ideas later, but how about:
1) Actually volunteering to help develop Gaia somehow. You'd have to post a PM from an admin or mod to show that they accepted your help.
2) Tell a joke and then get the highest number of "laughs" with the randomizer set to between 1 and 5000.
3) Highest dollar amoung of donations to Gaia (this would favor people who've been on Gaia longest -- not good for newbies like me).
4) A fishing contest (also not good for newbies)
5) Highest lelvel in Word Bump (proven with a screenshot).
...just some thoughts
